I cried SOOOOOO HARD for that boy. When he got to "nobody GAF ABOUT ME" I was just TOO through!! I'm so glad to hear about his nomination, because he was AMAZING!
Awwwe, I sort of love that. You have a heart of compassion that's amazing news. My mom and I needed to take,a break. You know that cry that makes your throat hurt?? Yep that was us.
I pray that Hollywood embraces this amazing young black talent in the same that they do the white young “IT” guys. He deserves every award for his performance. I can’t wait to see what’s next for him his future is so bright.
@Brianna ah, the willfully race-blind black person. racism exists and it's everywhere. just gotta acknowledge it and try to dismantle it as you go, but pretending it doesn't exist doesn't make it go away.
A gay white man interviewing a young, Afro-Latino man about THIS series directed by a black American female who didn’t start directing until she was nearly middle aged. We may not be “there”, but we’re definitely making strides and it’s a beautiful thing to witness and celebrate.
This kid is going places. Not just for his extremely talented acting ability, but also for how he conducts and carries himself, and how he speaks. I wish him the best. and always respect to Mr. Wise.
CHILLS! what a dope interview and Jharrel... you inspire black young actors like myself. to be so talented yet so damn young. A dream. Keep going man, I'll meet you soon up top!!
He was particularly amazing! But, the REAL Korey....he appears to be SERIOUSLY hurt from the experience -as would be expected ! - but...I haven't seen him articulate his nightmare as the others have. The real Korey is just heartbreaking to watch. (corrected it, @Makyaa). :D
I feel like he doesn’t say much anymore because of fear that whatever he says it might be against him just my opinion though. But I can tell he got the most hit when they were in jail.
I think one of the reasons for Korey is that he does have learning difficulties. Which could effect how he articulates but seeing from the interviews of the five, Korey hasnt really spoken to them about what hes gone through let alone the world... I dont blame him I dont think I would talk about it either
Kim G French oscars are for movies. when they see us is a limited series. emmys are for t.v shows/limited series etc. the emmys are an equivalent to the oscar award.
He deserves the emmy and so much more. I've never been moved so much by anyone's performance. I can't wait to see what the future have in store for him.
Jharrel Jerome...what more can one say?! He better win EVERYTHING....he deserves any and all awards pertaining to his embodiment of Korey Wise in When They See Us...ANY AND ALL
Excellent Actor & It's Awesome That He Won!!! BTW... They announced he's a graduate of LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts when he went up to accept his award, but he's also a graduate from a prestigious Ivy League university. Let's give this king all the accolades he has earned & deserves...!!! 👍 👏 💗
he deserves all the success possible. He admits that Korey Wise's satisfaction with his portrayal of him was the real fulfillment, not just the Emmy nomination. Just proves how humble he is and how he truly cares so much about this story. Jharrel is so inspiring
Jharrel you are such a beautiful young man and you are going to go far and not just as an actor but as the pure energy that you are! I love the relationship you have with your mum and the love and appreciation you have for Korey. You were definitely the right person to play Korey wise, you both have beautiful energy!!! I just want to give you both a big hug!!! Love you both all the way from the UK
This man REALLY got into his character; this interview .... wow ~ he’s explaining to us how even tho he was acting, he FELT it; got into character and never came out !
I hope everyone that participated on this film get the recognition they deserve, hopefully they win a lot of those Emmy's they were nominated for. They deserve it.
This young man has a great future ahead of him. I mean that movie "When They See Us" was awesome. I am going to look for any of his projects on the tube.
Wow! I ha dno idea this was the process for casting Korey and you were absolutely phenomenal Jharrel!! I cried, I was happy, I felt every single emotion you portrayed. Thank you for your talent and craft! (& making me a mad as hell mama lol)
The Korey’s part did break me the most. When it started up until it finished made me angry, sad, more on mixed emotions. The whole series is great and I do not know how to put my words for these people. It’s just heartbreaking...
You can tell as an actor he really cared about telling kharey wise’ story well. I think that plays part in why he gave us the best performance. Such a talented young guy 👏🏾❤️
I definitely will be checking out the Emmys in another month. And Jharell better win at least one award for his powerful performance as Korey Wise. If not am boycotting the Emmys real talk. He really worked that role you hear me. I cant wait to see what Jharrell have in store as far as acting is concerned. I am here for all of it .😁
I'm so proud of this young man! He truly embodied his role, amazing performance! Why did the Emmy choose that picture in the background though. Out of all the pictures that could've been chosen a better picture.
His modesty and wisdom speak even more respectfully than he is an actor. It's a life role and not a role in the series. On the one hand a character is based on a person in reality and on the other brings something else to the role. In reality, the actor is special, too. Just by a huge role and one interview, convincing to give him the Emmy.
Well deserved. I never cried so much in a single episode of television before.
Yep, he really was so amazing as Korey.
Alex Stories Ditto!!!!
I was crying so hardddd😭😭😭😪
I pray that Hollywood embraces this amazing young black talent in the same that they do the white young “IT” guys. He deserves every award for his performance. I can’t wait to see what’s next for him his future is so bright.
I hope he is protected by angels and goes denzel mode. he will never be treated like a white IT guy.
@Brianna ah, the willfully race-blind black person. racism exists and it's everywhere. just gotta acknowledge it and try to dismantle it as you go, but pretending it doesn't exist doesn't make it go away.
@Brianna It is intriguing that you are trying to silence people in place of refuting facts, though.
Odera forgetting is more harmful the “dwelling”
Joey Weisen I don’t know if this is a joke or just pure ignorance
If Jharrel doesn’t win an Emmy for this role I’m fighting everbodyyyy
You and me both!!!
Vee Lotus tag me in 👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾
Period !
Vee, I am with you! lol He SO So Deserves it!
Yes same he better at least win one of them if not I am done with the Emmys. I cant wait to see the Emmys.
He’s so good. He totally embodies the complete overwhelming fear that his character feels throughout.
He sent chills through my body as Korey! Poor Korey went through all kinds of undeserved HELL.
His humility and brilliant acting abilities will take him far 👏👏👏
I hope so. He deserves to go far

I hope he get's all that support, we love an afro-latino! ❤️ 🙌🏻
This kid is going places. Not just for his extremely talented acting ability, but also for how he conducts and carries himself, and how he speaks. I wish him the best. and always respect to Mr. Wise.
Ava’s vision was risky but ended up being genius. He did an amazing job
Proud of my Dominican brother 💯
He stood out to me in moonlight and was just wondering what he was up to when i saw that “when they see us” was coming out. This kid is gonna be huge.

He was amazing! He bought tears to my eyes. Well deserved nomination!
Jharrel has big things coming his way.. Enjoy every moment of the process.
CHILLS! what a dope interview and Jharrel... you inspire black young actors like myself. to be so talented yet so damn young. A dream. Keep going man, I'll meet you soon up top!!
Damn I didn't even plan to watch the whole interview but it was so hypnotizing. Jherrl played the hell out of Korey, he better get this win!!
@AveolarD the hell you talking about?? Guess you're slow on context clues
@AveolarD 😂 what???
He won!!!
@AveolarD shut the hell up NO everyone didn't know or seen it! Its not even your post. Fucking troll!!
That young king played that part
I cried a few times while watching him play the Korey Wise story

He better win next month. His performance was SPECTACULAR!!!
So far his choice in roles has been great I hope continues to pick these roles carefully because he's really brilliant.
True
It’s Korey
@@lovesailin Thank you.
I feel like he doesn’t say much anymore because of fear that whatever he says it might be against him just my opinion though. But I can tell he got the most hit when they were in jail.

Saw When They See Us twice and I'm still recovering from it. Impressive acting from everybody but, Jharrel you got a place in my heart

Awesome! That would be awesome
K Sagittarius I am sorry he deserve a oscar he probably play better than the actors who are nominated.
Kim G French oscars are for movies. when they see us is a limited series. emmys are for t.v shows/limited series etc. the emmys are an equivalent to the oscar award.
If he don’t win an Emmy for his portrayal of Corey wise, I will be done with the Emmys

I cried so hard on series 4. The way he brought this role alive at such a young age, I love it so much! Keep doing what you do.
He is a great actor! He made you feel sadness and pain. Next Denzel
Qtcarmen7 W Better than Denzel by far.
Jharrel Jerome...what more can one say?! He better win EVERYTHING....he deserves any and all awards pertaining to his embodiment of Korey Wise in When They See Us...ANY AND ALL
Congradulations Jharrel‼💯️💪🏾

Can I vote for this? 👀👀👀👀Because this man deserves an award!
He is a pure and raw talent when it comes to acting. ❤️
he deserves all the success possible. He admits that Korey Wise's satisfaction with his portrayal of him was the real fulfillment, not just the Emmy nomination. Just proves how humble he is and how he truly cares so much about this story. Jharrel is so inspiring

Amazing job!!!!!
Loved him in WTSU but he was amazing in Moonlight 😍🥰
He acted young Korey and older Korey
I'm so proud of this young man! He truly embodied his role, amazing performance! Why did the Emmy choose that picture in the background though. Out of all the pictures that could've been chosen a better picture.
VERY Well deserved...AS THEY SHOULD...and he better win too 😂
I could see him and O'Shea Jackson Jr. playing brothers, in a comedy, together.
His modesty and wisdom speak even more respectfully than he is an actor. It's a life role and not a role in the series.
