God bless you😌 I literally just had a lowkey panic attack bc I realized how I havent been making all the moves I needed to be doing to be where I want and you just gave me hope. I really appreciate your uploads❤️
LadyALCO lol thank you hun. Just tell we that the cosmetology world will never get old it’s only growing and there will always be people that wants their nails done you just have to know how to drive them to you.
Please do a tutorial on how you do your own nails with your non-dominant hand. You're adorable. Keep up the good work, your channel will definitely grow. 😘
You do beautiful nails but you also seem like a down to earth, super chill person. So not only your awesome skills gets clients but your personality too. Thank you for these tips I’m going back into the industry after taking a break to care for my kids. Now they are older and I want to work again.
Thanks for this video! I wanted to suggest for anyone whose clients forget to re book- sometimes when clients forget to call and book it can be helpful to note that and call them back within 24-48 hours and let them know you're booking up and want to keep them a priority so that they can have the appointment of their choice- keeps them in rotation which is good for both you and them, and they will see that you care about your loyal customers and then you don't have to wait for them to remember and worry about squeezing them in and maybe them not feeling like a priority because you are busy- hope that makes sense
It made total sense when you talked about making a friendship and having a connection. In a salon the techs have 1 client after another and you are just the "3 O'clock appointment". On the other hand you see these clients as friends and actually listen, not only a nail appointment but also therapeutic
You inspired me to do nails. I have been practicing and bought all the supplies I need and the trainer hand you suggested! I’m going to keep practicing and learning and then go to school to get my license! I would love to have clients to talk to and do their nails bomb!
You seem like such an awesome person, in addition to being incredibly talented! I’m so glad that I came across your channel! Keep up the great work love! 💕
Its hard for me BC my friends who work won't want to pay full price but the ones who don't work want it free and they will try to hang with me an then sneak in trying to say "can you do my nails" BC just BC they hanging out with me or try to sleep over an chat an they try to get their nails done like tf. I went to school for nails am tbh I dnt want to do nails anymore but only My self an my two sisters at least they even pay me smh nor even those call "friends"
Rain Lluvia chile yes I'm learning now people wanna be cool when you are good at a service wether its hair nails or make up but unless I offer aint SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA FREEEEEE TF 🚮💁💅
Rain Lluvia Same here ! It's hard asf to have a business with people like that around so before I got to befriending are you even friend material ? Its seems harsh to be that way or way of thinking but these times change peoples character .
when they sneak in saying that just say" yea sure but it will cost a little bit " and tell them the price, if they say oh but im your friend blabla just say "yea thats why i will give it to you for cheap but the materials cost money a lot more than you would think so thats why i have to charge a little bit"
Hey girlie. I agree with you, not only do they come back because you’re awesome but you do beautiful work. I’m happy your customers stayed loyal because you were just beginning and people tend to judge because you were new. OAN: you’re silly and I LOVE that you didn’t edit you sniffing your pits. 😂 you’re so silly. But you’re cool as fuk and real as fuk ❤️
I just love your videos and your personality. You remind me so much of myself lol. I was in chicago and moved to a suburb 2 hrs away and lost All my clients. Im starting all over. I also did the free fill for referrals. I miss my clients. They miss me so much. Lots of broken hearts lbvs
I would like, if u can make a video about how to be a bit faster, cause I’ve timed myself and it usually takes me around 3 hours, and I think that’s one of the reasons why my clients don’t come back, 😞 and my daughter tells me I talk too much 😑😄!!!!! Please help by the way love you’re videos and your advice 👍🏼
lachatita17 Don't be discouraged!! Speed takes time! 3 hours isn't long. Just work in an order as far as sanitizing, preping, applying forms or nail tips, primer, acrylic application, file, shape, and buff or polish and stick to it! Organize EVERYTHING and have it easily accessible! As far as talking too much, ask a few questions, listen and let the client's talk away!!!! Don't let your speed stop you. Practice as often as you can!!! You'll get there! :-) :-)
lachatita17 - the gal above has great advice! Being organized is number one. You will get there with the speed. The number 2 issue I had when I started working on clients is not making eye contact when we are talking, it's so rude!!! For a while I would say to my client, I apologize for not looking at you but I'm sure you don't want to be here for 3 hours :) they always laughed and said it's no problem. It was probably unnecessary but I felt better addressing it :)
Hello ladies! I’m a year late on the comments but you ladies gave me motivation to keep going!! I take two hours for acrylics and bling etc so I was scared to put word out about my nails!!! I feel a lot better now thank u ladies
Thank you so much watching u make me not give up I'm just kinda scare because I do my own nails with acyrlic with designs and everyone says I should do nails for a living I'm going to try to build up clients . N u write about building a relationship with your client girl when I was doing my research on these salon in NY some of these ppl speak in there languages amongst there selves I was a serving everything what to do n what not to do
Thank you for the four tips cause I want to get clients to start off by the way you made laugh about you smelling your underarms pits. I would do the same. Great video
Maria Santamaria lol thank you and omg I thought I cut that part off ig it was a stain from my arms rubbing idk that was only my 2nd time wearing the dress 🤦🏽♀️
Hey girl I wanted to know if you had to learn to get comfortable doing nails with your own nails done or if it was pretty much the same thing? Because I’m starting school soon and I really don’t wanna get rid of my nails unless need be ..
Ok loved this video! But I just have to say, as i'm taking my notes I thought you said create a loyalty card & have the clients refer 5 friends lmaooo! Until further in the video I heard you say 5 full sets i'm just like wow I completely misunderstood. Either way I'm creating loyalty cards now for 5 Friend Referrals AND 5 Full Sets. Keep dropping dope content girl. We're eating this shit up!!
I’m so scared to go off on my own and just out of nowhere I decided to talk to my coworker for some advice because she has her own business and she has made me an amazing offer, to rent from her for an amazing price per week and Iv been doing nails for 5 yrs and I know it’s time I’m just afraid to start over, thanks for this video
XutTheKay VLOG hey, I'm a licensed nail tech and I think your idea is wonderful. I hope one day I can do the same lol but teaching yourself is wonderful. I had to teach myself acrylic and new salon trends after I passed state board. I'm in VA and I have to be licensed and also get business license to do so. Best of luck!!!
See if I wasn't homeschooled i know for a fact I would have a lot of clients cause it's high school every girl want her nails done for a reasonable price lol but Question what do you call a self taught nail person that isn't licensed???
Ooooh yea that’s would be hard well you can still advertise your self on social media and you can do the loyalty cards as well. I think they call it inspired nail tech
Brownskin Barbie I agree with Natalie when I was in school they said we should make cards and put Future Nail Tech Professional...ps you gave great advice
Brownskin Barbie - I don't know where you are but be careful honey. In California it's illegal to receive money for nail services if you aren't licensed. You don't want someone to just be rude, call your state board and get you blacklisted! When you can, try and get your license!
Christina Matzen ok thanks for the heads up ❤️❤️❤️but here in the south people honestly don’t care cause just about everybody does things out of their house and charge people for it and they’ve been doing it for years
Kailey Cantrall i suggest practicing on yourself bc it’s the best practice. Having a practice hand is good too tho. Hi Natalie, have you ever thought of expanding your business and talent by maybe teaching or training other girls to start working for you since you’re so good at what you do and have more people that would love to go to you to get their nails done instead?
Misty Bone wen i decided i was serious about it my dad took me to the nail supply store and I had a list of everything that I needed to do a full set then I just slowly started adding stuff
Thank you I am lost I am too trying to get my nail business off of the ground I am a cosmetologist but I want to focus more on doing nails and I just don't know what to buy so if you can help me out with that I would appreciate it
Hi Natalie. I have a question? Was I wrong for letting my coworker know that she was wrong for consulting a, client that was in my chair. I feel like she sabotages my effort to grow clients by her being Spanish she speaks to them while in working with them, mind you.. The customer speaks English. and I feel like I'm fully capable of offering color s and consulting my own client
Im not Natalie but you arent wrong, if you have that feeling then it's probably right. Same thing happened to me but as a waitress. Keep and eye or have google translate near. People are snakes
+Joanna Campos practice, practice, practice, repeat, repeat, repeat and have a lot of patience and if things don’t seem to be going your way just try again and don’t give up. It will get frustrating at times but it’s all worth it at the end
I hope you answer this please 😣 but im a new nail tech. I've only been doing nails for a year & a half . But I'm always getting ppl trying to get me to do they nail , an I dnt have a price or I'll just charge 10 now I'm starting to feel used cuz it cost me more to get my supplies 😣😣 do my question is do I charge ppl an how much should I charged as a inspiring tech 😐 thanks in advance
Latoya Gray when I started I charged 25 with Designs. I would say just just do your research and see how much shops in your area charge and just do an average
I hate do nails for black clients.. they rude, they walked into a nails salon.. with big mouth. Asking for discount.. and tip less. And stolen nails polish... most nails salon it's asian owner in a U.S... Asian ppl should not do nails do for black clients..!!! Let them do nails by them selves!! 😒
Phong Tran maybe you should put a sign up to say ‘No Blacks Allowed,’ just to make sure you don’t get anymore of ‘those types’ of clients. Your comment was rude and a generalization on an entire race to state a that one entire race steals your polish and don’t tip. From my experience, the Asian shops use cheap, old polish that is thinned out with acetone, don’t listen/respect their clients, act like they don’t understand a word of English until it is time to pay. Which is exactly the reason i am becoming a nail technician. I bet you don’t turn any Black clients away though either.
I’ve had black clients and they’ve been respectful and kind, and I’ve had rude ass white clients, and vice versa. It’s not about race it’s about the person. That’s a very racist and you as a Asian person shouldn’t be so racist because racist people have assumptions about Asians and they are not true. If you do a service already with prejudice in your heart the client feels it and will react negatively. You need to reflect on yourself and your prejudices before you continue your career in this industry.

Hi Natalie, how long did it take before you became real good to the point you can make a decent living?

oh .beautiful.
You Have To Get Over The Price Thing & Gradually Go Up .
I WISH YOU WERE IN DALLAS!!!!!
Do you recommend practicing on a practice hand or people when starting out??
Kailey Cantrall i suggest practicing on yourself bc it’s the best practice. Having a practice hand is good too tho. Many times being a beginner many people won’t let you work on them...practicing on yourself is best bc you get to feel what it’s like with filing especially if you use an e-file you get the feeling of it so you know what not to do wen you use it on other people. Hope this helps!💕
Thanks very helpful
what would be a reasonable price for a full set if I’m a beginner ?
When did you get your license to practice? Jw and could u talk about your nail tech school experience I would really love to know more!
Will do hun
Got my license in 2016
I love nails but I'm so shy so it's awkward with customers

Natalie Carmona thank you girl
