I WISH WE HAD THESE TOYS WHEN I WAS IN VIET NAM IN THE 60'S, WE HAD 10tons WITH V12 YAMAHA'S AND TWIN STICKS, AND STRAIGHT PIPES, MAN WE COULD MAKE THEM POP WHEN CHANGING GEARS... I WAS WITH THE 919th ENG. 11th ARMORED CAV. REG. 69/71...
The M123A1had a V8 300HP Mack engine, yes with twin sticks, GI modified twin exhaust and either with one or twin rear winches. Put a lot of miles on them but on the tank transport side. The original M123 had a gasoline engine. Then the International M525 replaced it, the M911 and then the M1070. I was also qualified on an M26A1 chain driven one from WW II and Korea that we had in FT Hood in 1966.
La compañia impregilo trajo a colombia un tracocamion oshkosh modelo 1975 con un motor de 700 caballos de fuerza para transporte de maquinaria en la construccion de hidroelectricas
I drove them in the Army.......cool beast but not very practical to own as a toy. They sold a bunch of them out of Salina, Kansas a few years ago. There were over 200 of them in the same lot (back when Govliquidation had the contract to sell surplus stuff) and the average price was 8500 bucks. Most of them had less than 100 miles on them and were full of fuel. The biggest issue I had with them was the 45 mph top speed and that double breasted Driptriot diesel the idiots at Oshkosh put in them. And the trailer they pulled was designed by an idiot after consulting with a moron.
The M1070 HET would haul a M1000 in the Army, which is not available for civilians. They have 40 wheels, two spares, and a steering arm put on them.In civil life, you can only pull a low boy behind one of these, that's generally what a M1000 is too, just with all those extra wheels on it.The fifth wheel on the Oshkosh is at such a height that a 53 footer will NOT attach to one.
Dude $ 35gs thats a steal whats wrong with it 🤔🤔 I have a truck like this in " snowrunner" and its has rear wheels steering and this one doesn't and this is a real truck
They don't sell any M1000's for the civilian market, but you can actually drive with a low boy behind a M1070.The 40 wheel M1000 that they pull in the Army is basically a low boy with just all those wheels on it for flexibility and articulation.

Alex Dekarske What company were you with? 233rd, 1st HET, 377, or 96th?
@KhmerD0g 101st? That's a division. There were only 4 active HET units in the Army.

Great looking truck, what about the trailer. This truck is made for specialized trailers. The people that used these truck had to take great of them.
