It’s weird to know it was all an act and they actually liked Cathy. 😅
it wasnt ALL an act. There were real fights between them but they eventually forgave eachother bc alot of the drama was pushed by producers.
When Christie saw Cathy in season 7 and said "Danny DeVito! I love you!" and they hugged, that told the whole story...and I laughed so hard!

@@ariawashburn6043 it was half and act. The directors had them told their personalities and how to act in order to make the show interesting. All they had to do was to improvise.

I’ll be honest, this needs more attention. there are a lot of people, and I mean a LOT of people who forget the difference between reality and something that’s fiction. Even if the genre is “Reality show” you can’t really expect it to be a “reality” show. I always figured it was staged, but the fact that many of these awful things happened- This video needs to be shared more- So, that people who don’t understand- can understand what happened.

PREACH!!! It's unreal just HOW MUCH of it was staged and really instigated by the production team. And now I'm left questioning which parts of personality or issues were actually real. Some must've been, considering many of the Moms and dancers claim Abby was legit toxic.
I just now saw the interview of Cathy and Abby on The View together from 2012. I’m 23 and I started watching the show when it aired in 2011. I was like “well that would’ve been nice to know” 🤣🤣
My thing is a lot of the families won't even acknowledge her existence so something must have gone down to cause that break if it was something we saw or not.

I wish they shared sooner that Nia couldn’t get to the studio until 5pm some days while Maddie came during school hours to learn everything. Not to take away from Maddie, but Nia got ripped apart during the early seasons for being the weak link.. i always thought she was great for age, but this explains a lot of the mess ups in choreo and stuff
PLEASE ABBY make more vids like this w cathy, i feel like there is no better way to expose and explain things from the show than this!! plus it’s so enjoyable to see you two interact in a positive and insightful way.

I'm so happy for Vivi and proud of her that she has forged her own path as a wholesome, kind, & thoughtful 16 yr old. I can see how much of that is an homage to Cathy's amazing influence as her Mom. It's just nice seeing a girl who's relatable, instead of being one of those insta baddies trying to be the next Kardashian.

Glad some things were cleared up and honestly probably would’ve enjoyed the older kids just as equally like I loved the episode where Brooke dances with the older kids it was a beautiful dance I wish they were featured more she fit perfectly with them
It would have been refreshing too if they didn’t show their moms and they had no drama!

It's really sad to see how shabbily Abby has been treated by the Dance Mom's as a group. I believe they all knew it was scripted. What really bothers. E is that I just sAw several clips showing Maddie and Makenzie stating they have NOTHING to do with Abby and there was an allusion to their Mom as well
Abbie, I'm a 65 yr old grandma and I watch your shows over and over. I also have a granddaughter, Violet that is now 7 and she too watches Dance Moms and loves the show. I can't wait to tell her how sweet you are and that you and Cathy are on great speaking terms. I'm praying for you and a full recovery. God Bless You!
I grew up in the same age categories as the original team and I honestly believe you and Cathy revitalized competition dance and dance in general. So many more people dance than when I was 6-12. It’s amazing.
I didn’t even know these type of dance competitions existed. I used to love ballet as a kid. But we never had anything like that aside from the dance company’s yearly Christmas Nutcracker and May Recital. There were twirling competitions and that was a lot of fun.

I always thought Cathy was such a pretty lady, so well styled, so sweet with the kids, classy, she should of have stayed longer, Abby is right the show should've focus on the moms and the teachers and have the kids leave after a certain age, then the show could've been continued .

It’s so true when you two speak about how much you guys really managed to showcase dance as a sport, art, and career. It’s crazy, the show airing in season 1 is what made me choose to start dance, and now my sister in law re watching all the seasons along with me is the reason my niece is now also a dancer. You guys really helped start I would say a little army of artists who saw you all every week and said “I want to do that!” So thank you!

I knew these women never actually hated each other. Look at them is S1 compared to season 5. I mean- it was obviously an act, but they sold it 👏🏼
I’m so glad that this is coming to light because so many people reference the things that happen on Dance Moms to judge Abby and Cathy when they forget that the show was fake even if it was labeled as reality tv. This shows that Abby and Cathy are good people who cared for each other and their students, but were depicted in a negative light by producers. I’m glad they have these RUclips channels where they can show their fans the real Abby and Cathy etc.

I was a dance student and teacher. Am 56 now. You both brought back so many memories of my dance days
Dance moms should have been a Real Housewives type of franchise that would rotate casts overtime. This would’ve been way more beneficial and entertaining for longevity, monetary, and exposure reasons
These two videos were so interesting and insightful. Dance Moms was something that inspired me a lot growing up and I´m not even from the US. But I honestly feel sad and so sorry about all the bad things that happened and all the negativity the show got that wasen´t even the cast´s fault. If I´m being honest I have to say I would have loved to see less drama and fighting and more of actual dancing, competition life and preparation, the tings going on in the background etc. but I´m glad we were able to get to know some of that now. Looking forward to simmilar videos and wishing you all the best!!
I wonder if Christi and Kelly (because you know that’s who she was insinuating) really called other kids ugly or not. I could see it but I also think they’ve grown as women since then.

I was a theatre director, I spent a short time choreographing. Ladies, hardest work I ever did. Even harder than learning sign language! Your head has to be in the game - the sense of muscle memory that instructors have to retain is insane! You are true ladies Abby and Cathy

Ah I am going to gobble you up Abby! I am so glad I found your channel here! I knew when watching the show, that so much of it was pulling and pushing to squeeze every morsel of drama out they could. I have to admit I loved it. Saddens me though at the same time, that so many do not know all the behind the scenes manipulations. I know nothing about dance, when I was a kid, I wanted it so badly though. Dance mesmerized me, and I always visioned myself on stage to music. As a grown woman I that was the first draw to the show for me, and then of course the drama and shenanigans reels you in. And Abby, my heart literally aches for your health. It was a cruel part of the universe for this to happen on top of all the other issues. Just ugh. When you were briefly describing the lady bit restroom issues, I wanted to reach in the screen and say let's go make it better, let's go out and get lattes! The other night when I was going through some stuff, I was like I'm gonna go see how Abby is doing .. and here you are! I am going to have a GREAT night watching these videos tonight! Cathy, I want to say you are such a good mom. When I see how much you care about Vivi and dote on her and really pay attention to what she is feeling, I wish I had a mom like you. I bet Vivi feels so special and truly loved. I'm a grown woman, but can you adopt me :) :)

She literally had the moms learn a dance she choreographed, perform it on stage during Abby’s showcase in front of a NY recruit, and in the middle of the number on stage does her own solo! 😂 Immediately I knew Cathy was fantastic and a star.
So nice to see these to beautiful ladies as their true lovely selves.
