Just drove that stretch of road coming home this evening. I love hearing out of town people's honest impressions of my home city. Your remark on people from Iowa had me laughing pretty hard!!
That "low bridge" is called Hubbard's cave. It has 3-4 different streets and a few tracks of commuter rails that have been there since the 1800s??? I think that's right. When you get North of there, the truck advisory is because Illinois wants you in the right 2 lanes of the Kennedy Expwy. The tolls aside, I-294 is a difference of less than 3 miles.
I was literally on this stretch of highway 94 that merges into 90 yesterday heading to a concert. Yes Chicago traffic is stop and go and requires patience, awareness, and yes a little aggressiveness. Pretty much it's the norm. Thanks for the video it's awesome.
I was obsessed with Chicago (city, not musical or band) when I was nine years old. A relative was being treated for cancer near there (at CTCA), so we had to drive through to get to Zion. Lake County FTW. I convinced Mom to take me through Chicago instead of Rockford to get to our next destination, which was somewhere in Missouri. Now I do dearly love Rockford, don’t get me wrong. But there’s something just so glamorous about Chicago.
I’m driving from Massachusetts to Milwaukee Wisconsin for the first time ever any tips I should know? It will be my first drive through Chicago much appreciated thank you
I know I'm a month late... I usually take I-94 all the way up to Milwaukee once I reach Chicagoland. I-90 is the Chicago Skyway, which is an extra toll: only worth it on a clear day.
Hi!!!! I love chicago too . i was born here in mt sinai hospitol in chicago . but i live in cicero illinois went to live to 🇲🇽 came back at age 5 . started school grew up watching sesame street and playing w barbies lol loved to travel . never been inside the sears tower though . now with the virus around ill probably never get a chance to go inside oh well . its still fun living here .fam lives in chicago . i love the summer and winter . and like beefs and polish sausage sandwiches gotta try the food here is good
@@thebabbler8867 Relative to the rest of the country, yeah. But compared to other world class cities around the world, not really. It’s too centered on the Loop and not enough of the rest of the city.

Us Upper Midwesterners (IA, MN, ND, SD, WI) don't usually talk to people we don't know. Not because we're mean, but just because we don't want to bug anyone/get into anyone's business. It's probably the Scandinavian heritage, lol. I will say if you're able to pull one of us out of our shell, we will never stop talking 😅.
This is pretty common 24-7 here and could be much worse. This road is north/south. He is heading north. 35 miles from the west heading east can be a 90 minute ride. Trucks need to go slower as cars will cut them off.
@crownvic interceptor I'll take Chicago's traffic over New York's anytime the expressways in Chicago are more wider to handle traffic. In New York the roads are narrow and have to cross bridges to get to certain parts of town.
All true wealth comes from the earth. Everything else is just an illusion of wealth. To each his own. I'll take my farm far away from the city, that's true wealth to me.

Yea defintely glad it isn’t but NYC has traffic really Downtown but la has the worst traffic of USA I live in Chicago it’s tough during this covid but I’m still having fun and kicking it at home
Chicago certainly has its own majesty. Sears Tower still is one of the tallest in the world. Traffic sucks in every big city. Thanks for the video!!
Like in NYC traffic?
I'm driving through it tomorrow!!! Thank you for the video
I drive through it a lot. No big deal just go with flow.
i’m 16 and i drive in that everyday to my summer job at the hyatt. never gets old😂

Hearing the life of a truck driver was really interesting and I really liked it
I actually appreciate the Chicago drivers being aggressive. They’re aware of their surroundings and don’t drive like a dumb ass
Love your story on this one!
Thanks!

The thing about Chicago traffic is that it usually MOVES. Maybe slow but you will get there.
I drove through it in 2013 a 2 am, god damn cars were doing 130 klms. (Canadian). To South Dakota. Insane
thanks for this video...excellent footage my film students are using for class
Now that's different. Kind of cool though.
@@artist4truth :-) thanks again for sharing this ! And be safe out there on the road :-)

In LA, that kind of traffic is slightly better than normal. I’m envious.
Oh I hate driving in L.A.. I lived out there for 12 years.
Chicago actually has a real public transportation system unlike LA. That explains the lighter traffic.

What time of day was this? It doesn't look as bad as I thought it would be. Looks like Birmingham during rush hour.
I actually don't remember. I think maybe mid-afternoon.
