You didn't tell us the percentage of taxpayers who moved out of Chicago for Red States. CA lost over 25% of their taxpayers to Red States. NY lost over 22% of their taxpayers to Red States. OR, WA, and other Blue States refuse to release their data on taxpayers moving out. The A's are moving to Las Vegas, why? Because Oakland is not safe.
The old man with the metal detector in the beginning of the video is my grandfather. He came to Chicago from Puerto Rico in the 70s and supported a wife with 9 kids driving the CTA bus. Crazy cool you caught him doing his thing enjoying retirement.
Hes smart, you can tell hes the type to sit back observe and learn about whats going on, and how to do something right and how not to do it. Kid has some pretty good judgement already. He seems to also pickup the restaurant and food buisness and respect for earning money. I didn't understand that until i was older. Thats a good kid, protect him at all cost
The Pit Bros are very connected to their city. Serving up good food, and friendly vibes. Very sweet, and articulate, kid. I like how they have him helping out & talking to people. He even asked Peter what brought him to their part of the city. Wishing him a great future. 💜
The young boy in the smoking vendor business makes Chicago proud. We need thousands like him to help us here in the city dig out of this mess. Bless him.
I love how The Pit Bros guys are having a constructive conversation about these topics in front of the kid. He’s old enough to understand what they are talking about and likely looks up to them. He’s listening and asking questions! He’s learning.
Seeing a homeless man gift his Jordans to another homeless immigrant was the most gut-wrenching American thing I've ever seen. Shows the true spirit of help thy neighbor, we need more people like him in this world.
Yes we should be taking care of our own people and solving our own problems. Yet the govt's priority is to give endless funding to foreigners both overseas and on American soil. I remember decades ago when only American jobs were being outsourced, would have never guessed our welfare system would be outsourced.
People are drawn to your genuine, pure authenticity, PETER. I recommend your channel to every I know. Keep up the amazing work and may God continue to bless you!!
Yeah the guy seems very personable and genuine but I cant get on board with how he only seems to talk to good people doing positive stuff, it gives a false narrative of places like Chicago "it's not soo bad look at these people eating BBQ food". We know there's some good people everywhere, but not showing the murder, violence, drugs, robbery and negative black culture isn't a balanced view is it. This narrative makes it seem like every single person is a victim and not a bad person.. apparentlynno people are bad people, they're just allllll victims
I visited Chicago early September of this year and I fell in love with the city. The city was surprisingly clean and everyone in the city or around the city was super kind. It made a long lasting impact. While my full week trip, I did not feel in danger at all. I could have wandered around the city for hours if I could have. I really wish my city of Los Angeles was as great as Chicago. Chicago natives and Illinois natives, be very proud!! Cheers!
@WorldWide2017 downtown, Southside, and north side. I have family in Illinois so they showed me around. They have been living there since the 60s. I have a great uncle who graduated from West Point and another one who was a diplomat for 20 years. My girlfriend and I walked around Southside before attending a Whitesox game. We felt safe walking around there too
We need more of that little boy, such a sweetheart! His parents have raised him well, very polite and well spoken, intelligent- little man is for sure going places. I hope & wish for the absolute best for those pit bro guys and the the little man. Little man is destined for Harvard!!! Wonderful people.
@landusa3360dad & his friend seems very level headed, they got the kid working, warning and staying out of trouble. I think if these are his role model, he'll be OK. There are many men that don't even stick around and that's the bigger problem
Lifelong Chicagoan here, this was excellent Peter! It was my first time hearing perspectives from the migrants and from a homeless man on the immigration crisis. That was pretty unique that you were able to hear from both of them at the same time. Can't wait to see more.
Oh give me a break 😂... be real how was this video showing anything? If you never been to Chicago maybe this entertained you. But if you live here this video was pathetic in its portrayals. There is a ton right now in black communities to cover and white areas that is interesting right now. With the migrant non sense going on there's a massive story for him there.
Peter, I have never commented on any of your videos, but that little boy at the BBQ stand is the epitome of innocence in a place that can be far from it. I don't know why, but when he started talking about pricing and food quantity and that it is about the people and not the money, made me tear up a little. What an amazing bunch of role models he has around him. I hope he never changes. I love Chicago! I met my wife there. Never stop showing the true America.
That boy is what they’re fighting for. That boy is the future. And that boy, statistically, is in great danger living in South Chicago. I wish him life, and prosperity and SAFETY. What a sweet, adorable dude. All great things for him.
The Pit Bros have really uplifted me. Their positive attitude and outlook on things is infectious. Wish them all the best and thank you Peter for bringing attention to them 🙏🏽
My favorite part of your channel is that you respect everyone you interview and don't exploit them for views. You offer such unique, authentic views inside the world of so many people. Never change a thing!
Great point! He doesn't try to get them to say what he thinks they should say. He lets them speak for themselves and in so doing, gives an accurate portrayal of how things are.
As an over the road trucker I went everywhere in this country. And what impressed me most about Chicago is that it can hold its own with any city on Earth. This country has alot of big major cities but compared to New York City they all look small and you could lose them in NYC, except Chicago. It is gigantic and in my opinion just as impressive.
@@piglet7943i visited Houston yesterday. Its certianly a big city. But i wouldn't put it in the same category. Simply due to its size, about half of Chicago. Its still an impressive city. The public trans is a bit lacking. Much less greenery (climte is dif tho)
Drove down to Chicago from the Twin Cities last April. I was also surprised by how clean and safe downtown was. I honestly felt safer in downtown Chicago at night than Minneapolis’ downtown. Never thought I would say that. Chicago really is a beautiful city
@@lemurianchick What's true? I live in the city and go to UIC. They even removed the race from offender crime reports because it was ALWAYS the same skin color of people.
I have traveled between Minneapolis and Chicago once or twice a month this since last Nov. Minneapolis midtown and downtown are not safe at all and Uptown is a bit ghost town and sketchy. The whole Minneapolis makes me feel the city is dead. Every time I come back to Chicago I feel just happy to be able to walk on the street and see people around. Chicago is not very safe after dark these days, but I think all the major cities in US are suffering the same issues.
@@FengmaoChang Uptown is actually becoming more upscale. I frequent that area. Not saying there isn't any sketch whatsoever but a ghost town? Are you high? There are plenty of places to eat and it seems to me that it's becoming more of a new Boystown because I see lots of gay couples up there. Maybe migrating from Lake View.
How blessed the young man at the bbq place is to have positive adult influence teaching him not only a work ethic, pride in what he does and learning to care for himself and others
I'm from South Africa and we visited Chicago in 2010 and I found it to be probably the most beautiful cities in the US. We rented bicicles and cycled throughout the city. We walked at night and I felt safe. Never saw anything weird. We where however always in the city centre. I loved it
Are you White or Black? Only because I don't know if there are any South Africans that have come here to live. I just wanted to say that on the North Side there is an enclave of African immigrants. I am sure they are from many different countries but I ate at an Ethiopian restaurant that was delicious! I have seen Nigerians and maybe from Ghana too.
@@lemurianchick I'm white. I have no doubt that the city is dangerous. Like I said we stayed in a hotel in the city centre, it's probably comparable to Capetown in South Africa, while the centre is relatively safe the surrounding "hoods" is completely different. Anyway, my point was that is a beautiful city.
@@JoeZaccaris Maybe because we are young adults/ teenager age now, but from my experience, most zoomers are really conscious of the people surrounding them, especially because we value mental health :)
Most black kids in Chicago are all like this. Like 95 percent. Way more polite than white kids. Theyre raised with old school southern politeness and values. Yessir and No sirs.
The people interviewed in the video do a great job representing our city. They all have their own perspectives on successes, challenges, but one thing they all share - they can't wait to tell you how proud they are to be from Chicago. You won't find a city with more pride.
The Pit Bros were so wholesome and looked like they'd be so much fun. I want to try their food so badly, that alone could make me go to Chicago just to get to try their food. Had me smiling like crazy the whole time. And the little guy repping the TikTok, so precious
Right? If I lived anywhere near Chicago, I would be heading there right now. With 600k views thus far, Peter's video is going to give them a nice boost in BBQ sales. It's will be well deserved.

i hate that as a white person, you can't be in black neighborhoods after dark, showing further proof that some people are prejudiced, no matter what their skin color. so sad.
I am from Chicago and it's nice to see an outsider going into areas where people can tell you their stories. I have heard all these stories first hand. I like that you allow these wonderful stories to told instead of just hearing sound bites that get clicks. Thank you, great contents. Much appreciated. P.S. If you are still in town and need any kind of help or assistance, please ask.
The homeless man giving the immigrant the shoes is really heart warming! Sure he couldn't fit the other ones but he probably could have sold them for money! It's so sad that he has to sleep outside while the other people get to sleep INSIDE of the police station! I must find that man!! This is so sickening!
You can't help but be deeply moved by the generosity of people like these, who have so little to be generous with yet give what they can to people needier than themselves. It's especially striking when seen against the extreme greed and selfishness of the larger society.
I am from Bulgaria, and I have lived in Chicago for 11 years, and we love Chicago. We were so happy to see you made a video in Chicago. We would love to see you or meet you! ❤
Peter is such a pro, he knows how to blend in to his surroundings. Appalachia, drive a truck, the hood, drive a Nissan. Also, Levi's is a great hype man. Intelligent little dude, he has a great future.
This is to the Pit Bros. As an Asian American I’m rooting for you and your family. To the parents of that young fine boy. You have done a wonderful job 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻what a thoughtful young man with a mindset of a business person. He will become a great person ❤❤❤❤. Please continue guiding this young man.
Chicago is consistently voted one of the best cities not only in America but on lists for the world and it's easy to see why, despite the challenges. Class museums, great food, theater, architecture, there's beaches, outdoor activities, quirky places to visit...it is truly a great city.
It's not one of the best it's the best. It's won best overall city in the usa over 7 years in a row. Name one city that can compare to Chicago other than new york?
My respect to the old men, he said children don’t need to be outside. Instead of talking bad about immigrants having roof under their instead of him, he choose kindness and humanity. That’s worth a lot
Because these people are using these kids for this very example, instead of trying to fix their home country for a better life they instead flee here especially knowing with children they will be given everything. Children are bargaining chips.
I lived in Chicago for 8 years. There's a reason Chicago continues to make the top of the list for all time favorite American cities. True, the winters can be brutal but you have to be someone who loves the 4 seasons...the good and the bad of all 4 of them.
As a professional firefighter, I'm proud of this dude for being so relaxed from the beginning. I love it, the country is so similar, from coast to coast. USA baby
Man that homesless dude brought a tear to my eye what a selfless guy the look of genunine contemplation when asked how he feels that the migrants get to sleep inside but he doesn't
Right. Sad. I agree kids don't belong outside. Neither does an older gentleman. It's about to be cold, then what? Does the older man stay outside & die of hypothermia bc he wasn't smart enough to drag a kid along?
Lived in Chicagoland for many years. Traveled throughout US, been to all major cities and out of all despite some issues here and there ... Chicago is and will be for life a place I call it HOME.
Same here. I will.always remember a Chicagoan telling me years ago, that there might.be more glamorous cities, but Chicago is a great city to come home to.
Ok, I had the Pitbrothers food at 70th and Ashland. It was incredible!! Go support these great guys. They are hard working and are positive role models. Outstanding!!
@seanhayes1965, thanks for giving the corner for Pit Brothers. Being in Chicagoland, I can try it for myself! They seem to be great entrepreneurs, teaching their kid (who I think will go far) to be successful, and the food looks DELICIOUS. 😋
Easily one of the most important channels on RUclips , why you ask ? Because what he shows you is at the end of the day we’re all just human beings tryin to make it through the day. Thank you again Peter for what you’re doing…
Love your video's, Peter! Chicago is something else. As a European (Dane, to be specific) and having travelled a lot around the World (and the US) Chicago holds a very special place in my heart. The people, the vibe, the geography - everything just comes together in Chicago. I still go as often as I possibly can, and probably will for the rest of my days - I'd even gladly move to Chicago. Looking forward to the next videos in this series!
But Europe has the most beautiful cities in the world! So the fact you say that about Chicago is really a compliment. I’m from Chicago but live in LA now. ❤
My city! I was born and raised here. 66 now. Move away a few times, alway come back. Chicago is an amazing place. It’s in tough times right now, as much of the US is. God willing, and the people’s strength, we will come back stronger, as we have in the past.
Having lived in Brooklyn NY for 22 years, Chicago has similar vibes. I love Chicago, been there twice and would not mind living there. The winters are a beast though. Your wife is doing a terrific job editing and the music selected is so fitting. Chicago has some of the most beautiful architecture of any city in the USA.
Loved the little entrepreneur with his family. They have brought him up right! Taking pride in his family’s business and very well spoken. The immigrant situation is sad for all.
I drove by the Pit Bros BBQ food stand and turned around and stopped. They have great food and generous portions. “Little Levi” is a friendly fella and is an entrepreneur of the future. He talked with me too. I came from Indiana and didn’t feel unwanted or feared my safety. Good people ! Great series from Chicago and Gary Indiana Peter. I always look forward to your videos.
Peter, you are a breath of fresh air when it comes to how you report what's going on here in our world. I feel like I'm right there with you, it's so real.
You described it so well "A breath of fresh air" yes it is you Peter, shout out to your lady she did amazing job editing these videos, Thank you for both of you wish you a wonderful life full of love and peace.
I agree...all we hear on the news is negatively! Peter tells it the way it is! I would have never taught of visiting Chicago, but that video changed my mind!
Grew up in Chicago. It has a reputation for being a "no bullshit zone", and out of all major cities in the U.S, it's one of the last. It saddens me to see the migrant crisis, but I'm glad that so many Chicagoans are willing to help out.
Lots of people mentioning the Midwesterner mindset of Chicagoans, and it's so true. Grew up in the suburbs, been going to school in the city for a few years. Everyone minds their own business like you do in cities, but they turn on a dime and are ready to help out or chat the second you compliment someone or ask for directions or need something.
We just spent a week in Chicago , stayed at an air bnb in forest park , end of the blue line . We loved our visit and really felt we experienced Chicago by only using the public transit, L train and the Ceta bus ❤🎉 People were very helpful and friendly ❤
I’m so glad you’ve finally gone to my hometown of Chicago. I have lived all over the country but I really miss the people of Chicago. Beautiful city with wonderful people. Yes, a lot of problems but it’s a vibrant place that everyone should see at least once.
Revisiting Chicago this weekend for my second trip there after first visiting in 2018. I was so thoroughly impressed by the city, and I was somewhat expecting a Midwest version of NYC and that was far from the truth. I remember the second I walked out of the subway and into the city from O'Hare, I was already extremely impressed by the city. It felt SOOOOOOO much cleaner, more spacious, and impressive than NYC. I was never a fan of NYC due to its cramped spots, rude people, and homeless problem and Chicago eclipsed it immediately for me. Like you mentioned, there are not a lot of homeless people roaming around the streets in tents and the food scene is amazing. Some of the best restaurants I visited in the country are here and there's some interesting history with the city. I really would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit.
Its like a weird unwritten rule in Chicago but we all use the trash bins that are on a lot of corners or just go in a alley and use the trash. im from the 80s and as long as ive known we rarely litter.
You probably won't see this message Peter, just wanted to let you know keep doing what you do! Your down to earth and humble attitude is what draws me and many others to your channel,
@@PeterSantenello hey Pete I have a large Amish enclave in my area that I grew up around. If you'd like to look into them they are one of the most conservative sects with Mennonites around too.
I visited Chicago for a week with my wife and kids from the east coast of Australia. We all absolutely loved Chicago and all the people we met. We will definitely be back. That young boy will go a long way after working with those two wise fellas.
Ok Bro listen, thanks to the urban planner who designed modern Chicago, it has 26 miles of open lakefront, with a 19 mile lakefront trail. Chicago is the best city in the US in the Summer, hands down. It's a city of neighborhoods, you have to know where and where not to go at night. Thanks for checking it out!
That boy, will go far in life with his mindset and the teaching he's receiving to respect and give to his community, is superior! Shout out to the brothers also who give Chicago a good name!
I'm telling you now. Even though it's been a day, I lived in Chicago for a long while as a young adult. It was cleaner and friendlier than most other locales I've lived. It also moved fast. There's a wonderful diversity of people there from all over the world. It has so much character. There's so much to do. Every day of the week, every hour of the day, there were interesting things going on. I miss it terribly. Those were the best years of my life. The largest issue I have with Chicago is one you see everywhere. I returned to my favorite neighborhood, which was such an interesting melting pot of sorts, and... it no longer existed. It had been gentrified, sterilized and "built up" out of existence. Everything that had made it special was gone. I didn't recognize streets I had walked for years. It was a sad discovery. Pizza? Yes, the pizza is good... but the entire food scene is amazing. You want any type of food you can imagine, there's a neighborhood you can go to where you can get the epitome of that genuine, not only food, but culture... and for a fair price, if not better. So many restaurant and gathering places have such a cool atmosphere and ambience. It spoiled me. I've been no where else that has that in such concentration. Not just eateries, but stores, museums, etc. Chicago is has so many neighborhoods that are like their own worlds. It's like nothing else. It's all Chicago. You move to Chicago, you embrace what it is and it becomes a multi-faceted character itself. Almost endless. Like a best friend. This is one of the greatest city's in the world. Please note that what' presented in this video is just a small slice of the town and doesn't represent the entire experience. It's a bit of everything. All this typed, I hope to someday revisit the city, but I don't know if it'll happen... and I'm afraid of my prior return experience being amplified. All this typed, seeing the city again makes me smile. Thank you.
@@EGoldman I wouldn't compare chicago to NYC. It really has it's own vibe. NYC has that social-climber, career obsessed vibe. Chicago, not so much. Chicago is more of a place that puts more emphasis on lifestyle than career-building. It's not as status-driven as NYC. Midwesterners also have a different attitude than New Yorkers. New Yorkers are gruff, blunt, but deep down friendly and genuine people once you get to know them. Chicagoans are more polite, reserved, mild mannered, but very standoffish and not as genuine and friendly as New Yorkers.
Oh, this young man is a gem! Kudos to his Daddy and the other positive men in his life showing him what a Man acts like! Watch him….he is taking it ALL in. I love this!
What makes this channel great is the fact this guy lets people be themselves by merely conducting them to topics they're sepcial for and that they want to talk about from the deepest corner of their uniqueness; which results in conveying an embodied testimony of what the local spirit truly is where he travels to.
Once again, excellent street sociology! My great uncle Arthur lived and worked in Chicago, Cook County, as a professional photographer, he called himself an artist. He was also a Notary Public for Cook County. He died when I was 11 and my father brought us back some mementos from his bachelor apartment. I got a couple of radios, a notebook of photos of the Barneby comic. And he also brought back a Genealogy of the Cornell family from 1906. I still have that here in FL. But I digress-great video!
Hey Peter, I'm a crime researcher in Chicago. You don't have to stay so close to police stations; it's safe on the major grid streets pretty much everywhere during the day (although avoid Austin on the west side north of I-290). Don't leave your car while it's running and don't do drug deals and you should be fine. It's a very safe city, you can even use the term "popos" and not be mercilessly clowned on.
There's no place in the U.S. where you can safely walk away from your car and leave it running, and there hasn't been since 1960 or so, just as there hasn't been any place where it's safe to leave your house unlocked since that time.
@chicagonorthcoast I’m in the Midwest, Utah area, and we do it all the time. We even leave our front doors unlocked or open all day in the summer. Seen the same thing happen in Colorado and Arizona. I think some people go into the bathroom where it initially stinks, and then another person walks in months later and tells you that it stinks, but you’ve already forgotten the smell. That’s how LA, Chicago, and various other cities I’ve been to. The locals are just oblivious to the smell. Edit: One guy that I just ran into that moved here from Chicago showed me 5 stabbed marks on his body… my jaw literally dropped! He said he lived in the center of the city.
@@seraph3761isn’t Utah considered the West? The Midwest region expands until you reach a state like Colorado, and you now entered the western United States/mountain region.
This warms my heart! Grew up on the south side and moved away years ago but missed my family tremendously and I’m moving back home next week. We are straight talkers a city full of heart and good people.
Another incredibly amazing, very sad but informative, video by Peter! He does the BEST job talking to people. He doesn't just talk to people, he talks WITH people. He comes across as genuine, caring and most importantly, respectful. And I just want to thank Peter again, for introducing us to TITUS MORRIS a while back. He interviewed Titus and then visited him a couple of more times - hitchiking with Titus to Tennessee. THANK YOU Peter, for all the work you do. And a big thank you again, for introducing us to Titus. I've subscribed to both of his channels on here. Thumbs up!
I'm from Chicago. All I can say is, "My kind of town, Chicago is..." Wonderful museums; great architecture, including the Frank Lloyd Wright houses in Oak Park; and great food. I look forward to you showing some of the other areas in Chicago. I grew up in Rogers Park, which has a large Jewish community.
The thing that stands out to me in Chicago is the humor. I don’t know if it’s just me, but when I’m in the city-on the streets or in a bar-I witness random, funny people and have random, funny moments. I’ve lived in cities my entire adult life (Chicago, LA, Vegas, Denver), but I’ve never found a place that likes to laugh as much as Chicago.
I’m 2 hours from Chicago and downtown Chicago is one of my favorite places to go for a weekend. I love all the activities and the parks. The walking is refreshing and the views are incredible. I just stayed at the sable hotel on the pier a few months ago and it was a great experience.
Hey Peter, glad you finally came to my home town! Looking forward to more Chicago content, hopefully from the West Side where I grew up (North Austin). I'm not making any excuses for our horrible violent crime rate, but it is still a great city. A couple of summers ago, two of your fellow RUclipsrs from Russia, were on a long visit in the US. They started in the southern states where everyone told them, "Don't go to Chicago. You'll get killed!" I spent a day showing them around the city, and they absolutely loved it. Keep up the great content!
There is still greatness in America! This channel is restoring some of my faith in humanity. Seems like no matter how rough a place looks, you can find decent folk living there.
Peter, you're a defacto sociologist! You get right down and real with people, and have an ability to make everyone feel comfortable. Great video! We'll be sure to visit the Pit Bros next time we visit.
I loved my year in Chicago 1969-1970. Crazy, intense... but wonderful... hanging out with John Prine and Stevie Goodman at the Earl of Old Town, playing at the 5th fret with Arlo... lol... crazy, memorable moments... ah... but alas those beautiful days are now long gone...Kisses to the Chicago that once was...you forever captured my heart! I turned 21 in Chicago and called my mom back in L.A. from a pay telephone in Chicago May 1970. I will never forget it. I remember going to a small theater to listen to CSNY in Chicago playing their magic shortly after Woodstock. What a rare, beautiful moment in time!! Precious and Unforgettable...
Peter Santenello, you are a one-of-a-kind human being, man. I love what you do. Extremely humble and ready to embrace anything. Discovery Channel needs to give you a TV show doing this exploration so that way you will turn your passion into a cash dollar. I love your videos, man.
I am lucky to be able to say that south suburbs of Chicago have been my home for 21 years. Our city is seen as dangerous by everyone who hasn’t visited. The culture, the people, and the atmosphere is like no city in the world. Thank you for bringing light into the city I am lucky enough to call home.
We loved visiting Chicago in the early 00's. I would love to go back and I am sure we would get a lot of "Why would you go THERE?" or "You're going to get yourself killed" from family who watch that channel that makes every city out to be more dangerous than they actually are.
I live in the ‘burbs but my family comes from the Southside. I loved to visit my grandparents that lived next to Ford City as a child. I loved the atmosphere and diversity. Decades later, the area has changed but that doesn’t stop me from visiting their graves and visiting the city. Chicago is unique that’s for sure. Us who know it are lucky. It’s just something you can’t describe.
One European described Chicago as the most European American city. A couple of visits to London confirmed that opinion. A lot of the architecture in Central London reminded me of Chicago. North London is pretty like the North side of Chicago. Chicago's architecture is, I think, the most glamorous in America. As a matter of fact, the word 'skyscraper' comes from Chicago. Also, Chicago is the most biked city in America. There are bike trails all over the city. Illinois has a 65 mile interconnected bike trails that can take into Indiana.
Bike city? Yes very European then lol As a Londoner from the UK Chicago does remind me of our capital due to the large Irish & Polish communities. We also have Italians, Ukrainians & Scandinavians over here too.
I was born in Chicago in 1963, been here all my life, minus one year in Las Vegas. Love my city. Your channel popped up, saw it was about Chicago. You did a great job. You'll see, the city is amazing. Looking forward to seeing more of your content. Thanks again.
The Christmas time downtown is just magical too. All the beautiful store front windows decorated in Christmas themes and the snow falling. We used to ride the train into downtown every year at Christmas time to shop and enjoy the beautiful magical atmosphere.
As Seattle native, I found Chicago to be a beautiful city. Before the pandemic I almost moved out there. The people are nice and housing was relatively inexpensive.
@@Jjjaaahhnn you definitely haven't seen enough, plenty of beautiful neighborhoods above the loop, and areas like pilsen and bridgeport in the southside are coming up; locals don't even hangout in downtown, there's more fun elsewhere
I was in Chicago last summer with my gf, who is of American origin. I'm Swedish and we both live here in Sweden. We had her good friend living in Chicago showing us all kinds of cool parts of this mega city. One particular experience was dining at Virtue! What a place! Lovely combos of soulfood. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great experience to try that place out
Thank you Peter for your consistency of uploads. My dog/best friend of 14 1/2 years just passed away and your videos help me out a lot when I’m feeling down. Especially your series with Titus. Much love and keep up the good work!
I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. I lost my beloved sweet pup and best friend in the beginning of October two years ago. I still am struggling every single day with her loss. Great episode. I have lived in the Chicago area for 40 years. It is a vibrant and beautiful city. I rarely have felt unsafe here, you just need to use common sense when you are in an unfamiliar area. As your video demonstrates, people in all the neighborhoods have a lot of pride in their city, and are generally very nice.

You didn't tell us the percentage of taxpayers who moved out of Chicago for Red States.
CA lost over 25% of their taxpayers to Red States.

The A's are moving to Las Vegas, why? Because Oakland is not safe.

Seeing a homeless man gift his Jordans to another homeless immigrant was the most gut-wrenching American thing I've ever seen. Shows the true spirit of help thy neighbor, we need more people like him in this world.
The man should not be homeless. He should be getting those resources.
Yes we should be taking care of our own people and solving our own problems. Yet the govt's priority is to give endless funding to foreigners both overseas and on American soil.

@WorldWide2017 downtown, Southside, and north side. I have family in Illinois so they showed me around. They have been living there since the 60s.

I feel that way about LA and Houston. They are so massive and can hold their own for sure.
You are exactly right.💯

No bullshit zone, you summed it up.👍🏻
Wtf you talking about we hate the migrants here

Most Chicagoan did not sign up to help illegals.

Thank you.
Nicely expressed. Thanks
Chicago is trash now, complete and utter trash.

Been 3 years since i moved and miss the unique neighborhoods. Miss the food. Especially, mom and pop joints. Chicago gets a bad name but its amazing
I haven't been to Chicago since I was in my early 20's. Chicago is a beautiful place. I never wanted to leave. 💯
Very well said!! “From the deepest corner of their uniqueness” - Love that!! And totally agree👍
Ego warps reality
LOL
I grew up in Rogers Park, which has a large Jewish community.
i grew up in oak park, what an amazing place to grow up. last stop on the green line 4 life
I’m from Rogers Park too! 👍🏽
Would like to go there sometime!
Hhhh hello from morocco
Living in Long Beach, CA now, but I grew up Catholic, living in front of a synagogue in Rogers Park! I love going back yearly.
You should come to Dublin, Ireland for that
That kid is going to be a great community leader one day! He has some great teachers in the Pit bros..
I’m 2 hours from Chicago and downtown Chicago is one of my favorite places to go for a weekend. I love all the activities and the parks. The walking is refreshing and the views are incredible. I just stayed at the sable hotel on the pier a few months ago and it was a great experience.
You get right into the heart of these cities and towns. I really appreciate you giving a voice for these people and the real reporting you do.
I’m from Massachusetts and I lived in Chicago briefly in my 20s best place I ever been best place I ever lived. a great city w/ such life.
I’ve been to Chicago about a dozen times and I’m still waiting to come back.. it’s a whole new world from the country
He does make cash dollars here on youtube. and he truly deserves what comes...
In all due respect, the Southside is dangerous if you can't feel safe after dark.
@@UVIckiwhy would you? It’s one of the most razzist thuggishcities in the world
Lmao what sttopidazz comments. Of course it’s dangerous criminals roam freely especially downtown
When I looked at the map it shocked me how close Indiana is to the South Side. I prefer the south end of the Lakefront Bike Trail anyhow.
Very observant! The city and the western suburbs have miles upon miles of bike and walking trails.
More biked than New York
Bike city? Yes very European then lol
As a Londoner from the UK Chicago does remind me of our capital due to the large Irish & Polish communities. We also have Italians, Ukrainians & Scandinavians over here too.
I always thought Portland Oregon held the title for most biked city?
LOVE the interview with the Pit Bros. Fascinating people. And their young boy is a credit to them and the community.
As an Arizonan suburbanite, riding the train in Chicago felt like I was in a movie
Wish we had more trains in this country. They are so fun.
@@rexx9496 Me too!
I was born in Chicago in 1963, been here all my life, minus one year in Las Vegas. Love my city. Your channel popped up, saw it was about Chicago. You did a great job. You'll see, the city is amazing. Looking forward to seeing more of your content. Thanks again.
I have met a person who lived in Las Vegas and then moved to Chicago
The Christmas time downtown is just magical too. All the beautiful store front windows decorated in Christmas themes and the snow falling. We used to ride the train into downtown every year at Christmas time to shop and enjoy the beautiful magical atmosphere.
The little boy is the next Mayor 😊😊😊😊. LOVE IT!!!
As Seattle native, I found Chicago to be a beautiful city. Before the pandemic I almost moved out there. The people are nice and housing was relatively inexpensive.
Chicago is a nice city, probably my third favorite - I live in Seattle but would never move
The magnificent mile and downtown is nice. Everything else is kinda rough and dumpy
@@sterlingmarshel6299 Seattle culture has evaporated. I wish it was like it was back in 90s and early 2000s.
@@Jjjaaahhnn you definitely haven't seen enough, plenty of beautiful neighborhoods above the loop, and areas like pilsen and bridgeport in the southside are coming up; locals don't even hangout in downtown, there's more fun elsewhere
Housing is very expensive. Lol you must of been looking at rough neighborhoods
It’s absolutely earth shattering, and I know how intense that pain of their absence is. May God bless you with strength, peace, comfort and healing as you continue to grieve your best friend. One day at a time. 🙏🏻🌻
Sorry for your loss brother 🙏
Titus is a character! Love him…
I love your perspective - and your openness and willingness to listen to people from diverse segments of society in our country and in the world at large.
What you are doing is sooo important!
Blessings to you and your beautiful wife as you continue to share these moments with us!
My favorite RUclipsr!
Love seeing the kid working with his family! Learning how to work hard for his money at a young age. He will be just fine in this world. God bless!
Peter. my family really appreciates you, so much. We love everything that you do on RUclips we have particularly enjoyed your Titus videos. My family of four will sit together as a family, to watch your videos for educational purposes as well as inspiration ! when I think about you I pray for you , for safety and that God will just continue to use you because you are a true blessing to the world! my husband is from the southside of Chicago. We now live in Texas and anytime he hears anything about Chicago. His ear ready to listen ; I know he’s going to enjoy this video when we sit and watch it together as a family I’m doing a sneak peek. Also thank you for keeping us informed about Titus’s church. My family and I are actually going to go visit it. We’re gonna make a family vacation out of it. I also loved your Iran videos
30:07 That young boy has a head on his shoulders. He is being taught by adult males how to give service and clearly he has been taught to think for himself. That question is the one I would have asked. Bravo.
