    I'm a white musician who had a gig in Chicago. I got lost and ran out of gas in the Southside. I had $3,000 worth of guitars and other equipment. I was pretty freaked out since the neighborhood looked very sketchy. Three kids around 15 or 16 came to my rescue. I gave one $20 for a gas can and gas. The other two stood by me until the third got back. They wouldn't take any money but they did accept a meal at a local establishment that was excellent! I had a better time with those kids than the rest of my time in Chicago.

      Agreed. The news no longer cares about true journalism. They are all activists and nothing more. They will use whatever tactics and propaganda necessary to push their narratives and agendas. The media is a really big problem in our modern world. They have way too much power and control over peoples minds. Also in regard to this video... it really made me see why the mass illegal immigration is an even bigger problem than most realize. Its just devastating in so many ways, but the politicians refuse to shut down the flood gates because they are hoping to import voting power. Washington is hellbent on nothing but power and will gladly decimate the most needing communities to get it without a second thought. Its really quite despicable.

      I think it’s regrettable to see hurt people attacking hurt people. Don’t fall for the MAGA smoke n mirrors. Migrants are not our problem. These people traveled three months through the Rio Grande, past the cartels, human traffickers, and spent their entire life savings to get here. They’re not going anywhere.
      Our community needs to get honest about sh!t or nothing is gonna ever change. Our kids are having teen-takeovers, going on robbery sprees, and succumbing to addiction at an alarming rate. This should be the convo. Live in the solution or drown in your own hate.
      This issue is far more complicated than the media projects it to be. You can’t wrestle with a solution if you can’t even differentiate between the migrants to address causation. The migrants get temporary relief while they wait for work visas. It’s in all of our best interests that the migrants assimilate or they will assimilate into gangs. And maybe rinse your hearts of all that hateration. We act like our communities don’t receive Section Eight grants, Link, Medicaid, and various other forms of aide. We cost the country billions that add to debt and deficits faster than anything else. We had 2000+ shootings last year in Chicago, do you know how many millions that cost tax payers last year. Also, if we’re being really honest, we know that our homeless largely suffer from addiction issues, and, or mental health issues. We have more shelters than most cities but many rather stay on the streets due to issues with rules and safety concerns. These are the real facts on the ground. Ninjas really struggle with having honest conversations.

I tried hanging in the city around my people and it almost cost me my life! I say up Northside is somewhat safer and maybe around 111th close to blue island. If you can afford $200,000 homes, I'd move to a safe suburb any day over inner city Chicago. Too many gangs, too much political corruption and insufficient police resources.

When "White Jet" as Dilla so appropriately called it happened. All my friends (8th grade) disappeared over night. So all my new friends were Black. James H. Bowen High.(89th & S. Chicago Av) Your tour brought back many memories both good and troubling. I eventually left Chicago in 1982 to chase the dream of getting a record deal in Los Angeles. I now have a house, wife and a small career as a musician there but Chicago will always be a part of my soul and that part is the SouthSide of Chicago. When I get😀 some extra money, I'd like to come to Chicago and either book a tour with Dilla or volunteer for a week helping out some organization in his community that helps to make Southsider's lives better. I’m totally in agreement with these people. Why isn’t our government more helpful to the loyal citizens who have been here. It’s great to help less fortunate people, but I’m about to turn 60, lived in the Chicago area all my life, raised my 3 children as a single widow of a Viet Nam veteran. I worked 3 jobs & the government told me that the most they could do to help me raise my children would be $75.00 a year for their education but it would be taxable. I told them what they could do with it! Now I had to leave Chicago & move to a little town & my children also had to leave Chicago. I’m alone, crippled & can’t get even medical assistance. I’m confident I’ll die alone in my house & nobody will find me for weeks. But this is an ongoing generational problem that nobody wants to do anything about. Give the new generation a chance to have a better life. They don’t deserve to think that life is hopeless & they don’t have options & they’ll just live to survive & then survive to live.

      Capitalistic systems discourage community of any kind, and I see many people in the UK isolated through greed, corruption and deceit. The separation between haves and have nots grows ever bigger, materially; but our spirit can still find solace within, although this is helped if we can find an oasis of like-minded good people. I am thinking of joining a community farm, or a native reservation. At least some people care in these places, although their resources may not be huge, their hearts are! Hope your life improves, and does not follow the lonely path you described.

      It’s not capitalist that’s messing up black people, it’s the plantation politics of the Democratic Party. For example, black people are doing better, do what do Democrats do? They bring in migrants to lower wages and take away successful programs and resources from blacks. They don’t keep criminals aren’t prosecuted or let out early. It’s all done on purpose.

Seems like a good guy, but I wouldn't feel confident in his decision making. Despite his intelligence, he could easily be mislead. He still thinks Tupac was a folk hero. Anyone can feel free to like Tupac, but upon not too much research with video, it's widely revealed that was a character with effeminate traits and a sheltered background. Dilla doesn't know that though. If he doesn't know that, it's likely he will be fooled again, and accidentally mislead his community.

      @rayshyne666 Ray, couldn't agree more. Just with the advent of the internet alone provides virtually unlimited resources (e.g. jobs, small business opportunities, educational, etc.) right at one's fingertips. Instead, what do a HUGE segment of the younger generation use the internet for instead? Video games and/or porn. And when anyone can see the trend of major retailers (i.e. Walmart, Walgreens, etc.) leaving specific neighborhoods because stealing/looting is so prevalent that those locations can't stay in business, the residents of said specific neighborhoods need to look from within the community to address the real problem--and not using others as convenient scapegoats.
      In closing, among the spot on sentiments you put forth, PARENTS HAVE TO PARENT THEIR KIDS! And that includes greatly reducing the number of fatherless households in Chicago and other cities. because with less emphasis on the nuclear family and more emphasis on parents not being in kids' lives, that's not coincidentally when crime, drugs, gangs will become an increasingly bad alternative left for kids to choose.

    I fuckin love this dude. Not just because I love history, but because he’s so on point about trying to tell the kids to have some pride in their community and work a job where you help people and can have a hellcat. He doesn’t whine and complain about taxes. He recognizes that a few cents from him helps out people who need it. I’ve heard so many business owners bitch and complain about taxes but then they want nice roads and schools too. You can’t pick and choose

    • @nialloneill5097
      @nialloneill5097 6 месяцев назад

      I have heard so much evil in the past in the UK, criticism of those on benefits, the sick, the disabled...my taxes are paying for you lot I hear. These kind of oppressors are the reason why there is no community, as in their barbed comments, they reveal that all they care is about themselves, but man can only receive in spirit when thinking of others...so no wonder such types are miserable. Also, the same types are usually the same kinds who look to dodge taxes..Our country has taken a battering since the Tories destroyed the working class, all for the greed of a small no of rich elite, who were handed our crown jewels on a silver platter, almost for free. And these same bank investors, corporate companies, and stockbrokers are the same group of people who are creaming off all the riches of the world, to make the rich richer. This is the way the system is st up, for wealth around the world to belong to fewer people, then those left behind, can only find solace and help in small enclaves of well-meaning people, who are oft happy to work for next-to-nothing, or handouts, which no self-respecting person likes...The young lady we saw in this video, who knew her community well, and its needs, as did the Pastor, it's these highly driven community activists who often hold together these increasingly poor neighbourhoods. If everyone was more considerate of others, the world would be a much better and safer place. Perhaps, they could teach the young why we pay taxes, I knew, and I was always happy when half my wage was stopped, for I knew I was paying to help the old, infirmed, and my community. Love Thy Neighbour as Thyself is the Way it seems to me. Thanks for your comment, it was thoughtful of you.

Watch the White Sox and Cubs World Series wins as well as the bulls two 3 peats along with the 85 Bears and the Refrigerator Perry and Walter Peyton. The Blackhawk’s Stanley Cups. Was impressive too.
