Just ask Sam bradford on his 40 second downtime at rapid 9. One doesnt want a downtime like that especially on that rapid.

Many years ago I was very involved with rafting and kayaking, this video just sparked that passion again. I going back to the river!!!
I am sitting on my chair at home watching this video see these big and powerful waves with these tiny freaking good kayakers and just think: "Wow that just looks so good and must be so fun" but on the other hand I realise that it must be so dangerous and I'll never be at that point were I say yes I can make this. That makes me so sad but happy at the same time its such a weird feeling I can't describe it. Its like a rolercoaster.

It is probably the best kayaking thing I have ever seen. It looks like so much fun, that at the place where I had the most traumatizing day of my life. Remember these guys are professionals.

What you are doing is remarkable and should inspire the next of paddlers to take this to the next level. God only knows what that might look like though.
It's almost 20 years since I paddled there at a much lower and friendly level with lines and hydrolics that were consistent, stable and predictable.
I found that more than enough even after a week of repeated runs and familiarity.
This approach and style is beyond anything I've ever imagined possible.
There are always people who take things to a next level! Well done! I am impressed.

I went down the Zambezi during the highest floods they'd had for decades. A fantastic experience. Capsized and almost drowned a few times, but it was amazing, especially on the Stairway to Heaven. 🙂🛶

Nice, I;ve rafted it a few times (and canoed the upper, amongst the crocs and hippos, scary shit). Always a challenge and always puts the butterflys in your stomach in the morning before you start. Come out at the top of 7, and you will gullivers travel that one the length, not fun! But great memories.
Oh yeah and jumped off the bridge too...
