The critique of telegraphing should watch the clips where he strings strikes together and sets up these strikes very smooth stuff.
No doubt impressive and effective. Built on the main principle of all sports/ martial Arts...its all in the hips. Match that striker concept with BJJ. Formidable. Oss
Yes the power kick use is effective by engagement of both hips and stepping into the power line and kicking through the target but no higher than the hips
I think you get a better visal at 4:10 he uses the opposite hip side from the striking limb to movebforward like hes striking with it and instantly using the hipsbopposite positioning of the striking limbs side to preload unlike with western boxing alot of the power might come from a second hit like, jab left, then right cross,l. The left jabs finishing position leaves the right wound up. Also it looks like he doesnt twist his upper body that much. He genuinley whips his upper limbs and tightens it upon impact using his hips energy. Any input appreciated. Im sure all the commentators along with me would too.

You get the better effect if you use the first hip movement for a light or feint attack and pivot the foot with the follow up power punch. Standard boxing. A small step or hop combined with hip movement will create an even stronger power attack.
To protect themselves of course! Notice how none of the strikes ever hit him? Its an impenetrable defense against strikes, fists are drawn to it naturally.
Ik exactly what you mean by whipping with hips because I too practice martial arts, but scientifically you want to strengthen the hips do you strengthen the hip flexors and extensors or just the abductors because the abductors are responsible for the external hip movement
Interesting how you keep seeing the same or very similar moves described in different ways in different traditions. DK Yoo has repeatedly demonstrated the same hip moves. The only thing he adds to what is said here by Consterdine is that he's "getting his power from the ground." Not sure whether that means he's actually doing anything different, but both of them are certainly generating lots of power.

A lot of cats are on the comment section being funny but in reality this old guys simply teaching you how to generate more Force by using your hip turn and giving you a new technique on how to quickly get your hips into position which any grown man would simply see and try to adapt as much of it as he could into his own attack strategy platform is pretty simple weather it seems telegraph's or not he's giving you instruction he's not actually in a real fight but I bet if he gets a chance to wind that up on you he'll KO you to the chin in one shot
Seriously I've been hit with punches like this and it legit is something you have to feel to understand just how fucking HARD it actually hits. Plus it's not difficult at all to set these strikes up
Good to see foundamental shorin Ryu karate Principles applied. One point only: with that much delay between hip and shoulder movement the strike become easy to detect by some more advanced opponent.
yes powerful, but i would be more impressed if the guy holding the target was bigger then you,, anyone can move a little guy,can you do that with someone as big as you?i do like the power,,
Ya, that works, but it's one of the most crude way to generate power. And with some very bad weaknesses : it's a 2 or 3 moments technique, it's easily seen by the opponent, no force in the opposite arm, work only for rear arm...But, ok, it generates some power.
It's about shifting the hinge point from the centre to the hip because power used to drive one half of your mass backwards while the other half goes foreword is wasted. Once you've got that, work on preloading the front hip. When that works, it's about making the movements smaller and employing a little artifice to hide the set-up.
Although definitely powerful using double hip action, it is too slow to use in sparring. Most people dont do double hip during sparring. Specially because you have to throw multiple techniques

@@TheRiboka Someone said that Mike Tyson's punches, and those of Dekkers the Dutch Muay Thai guy, are to an extent, double hip. Dekkers would load up his front left foot prior to kicking with his right pivoting on the front foot as is common in Muay Thai.
