"I blink back, for polite, I think."
The way Bella speaks is poor genius.
I cannot wait until someone uses this dance for their wedding dance
I would call 911 if that happened
😂😂😂YES!!!
wanna come to my wedding?
@@aleamezquita5149yes.
I was just thinking this!!! YES
his seamless entry onto the dancefloor whilst matching her energy but still conforming in a way, performing to the others is pure class
The symbolism of her freely dancing, feeling herself and the rhythm, and Duncan coming and holding her back.
You obviously didn't see the dancing Scene from the movie Dogtooth! Same Director and same concept: someone who never knew what dance is. But more realistic and more uncanny..
@@dibidibadibidibou, Dogtooth is one of my favorite movies. Why does this “obviously” show that I haven’t seen it?
no symbolism. she lead, he followed.
@@Magneticvortex-kk4gb, did you not see the several scenes in which she went off to dance on her own, and he grabbed her away to make her do it with him?
@@aaronmichael1201 haven't watched it yet just going by this clip alone mate
There’s something about this scene that is just amazing.
0:55 It's my favorite part of the scene, there's something about it that's satisfyingly hypnotizing.
righttttt
Hypnotizingly ugly 😂
She is just brilliant. Proper actress and film star. Quality
Considering that Mark has repeatedly affirmed he sucks at dancing (any kind of dance), this whole random hopping around-jumping-pseudodancing must have been either very easy or too difficult for him 😅😅
For someone who sucks at dancing he is surprisingly often in memorable dance scenes. One more and this is his raising glass. 😅
This is the furthest thing from pseudo. We see so called "good" dacing everyday and the far majority of them are annoying and boring as hell. Therefore, I call them pseudodancing.
This here is art! Freedom! This here is the REAL dancing!
I genuinely love his moves in this sequence
I just live inside this scene. So imperfectly beauty, dark, ironic, absurd, everything the human being is. This is what i love about cinema.
"...live inside this scene..." Yass!
Without hypocrisy. Like Linus in the Pumpkin patch waiting for the great pumpkin.
I watched this movie last night and it's absolutely brilliant... I'm actually tempted to go to the cinema again to watch it. If you're curious about this movie and are even slightly considering going to see it, do yourself a favour and watch it. You're in for a blast.
Yes definitely I went last night, wow it's so good, a must see again and again (thank God for Odeon limitless!!)
@@robhines4537 I wonder how "odeon limitless" translates into artists being reimbursed for their work as opposed to perverted studio authoritarians taking the proceeds. This film is statement. Did u understand it?
BUT DON'T BRING THE KIDDIES!!
The great thing about this film (and it must be seen on the big screen, no screen in your house, however big, can do it justice) is that it invites multiple views, and will be as exciting on the third or fifth viewing as it was on the first. I think The Favourite is brilliant, but I think Poor Things takes the directors ideas to a whole other level. It was one of the most invigorating things I’ve seen in years.
Don't bring your kids and don't bring your parents.... lol
When that beat kicks in, it sounds like HEAVY impending doom and it instantly grabs her attention and pulls her to the dance floor-LOVE IT!
0:42 Mark Ruffalo skipping into this scene brings me joy
his smile dancing in the moment, i FEEL that.
I know, me, too!
It’s bewildering how well acted this is
I saw this movie today. It was absolutely incredible in every single way. Loved everything about it and will definitely go see it again. This scene was hilarious!
I love how she doesn't know social rules and at some moments tries to lead the dance like a man, which Duncan can't allow. Such a cool detail!
I wonder how many takes did it take to get the dance scene. I’m just curious how Emma and Mark broke into laughter.
Mark said 60!
I'm thinking that in every scene in this movie
I’d love the see the blooper role for this film.
Exactly what I was thinking, LOL!
They said 60 takes!
She is a wildly talented creature.
Clearly her talents know no bounds.
Here’s to many more eccentric dancing scenes from the true mastermind of eccentric dancing scenes Yorgos Lanthimos
Although Emma Stone is obviously spectacular, and with all certainty she is going to win the Oscar, which will be well deserved for her skill and bravery, by exposing herself to the world in this way, I would like to give importance to the excellent performance of Mark Ruffalo, a character essential in the story, and Willem Dafoe, whose commitment to difficult roles is known. The creation, the creator and the promoter are the three axes that make this film a unique and unrepeatable work of art. We have witnessed one of those cinematic moments that occur every so often, and we must be grateful to those responsible, starting with the author of the book, Alasdair Gray. We must experience everything, not only the good, but also the degradation, the horror, the sadness. This is how we know the world, and when we know the world, the world is ours.
I wouldn’t say with certainty
Your comment is rather life changing. I shall add it to my journal. Thank you
@@jchandlersabeastthis didn’t age well
This scene had me wanting to see the movie as soon as the music dragged her from her seat.
Just saw this today. One of the most fascinating and visually stunning movies I have ever seen.
Just watched, awesome movie! 🤩
I haven't watched the movie "but" it looks like a protective gesture to distract her outlier response in a public setting. Then he attacks a stranger. Whew.
That scene absolutely crazy but I love it ❤
Mark Ruffalo is on another level
This scene lives rent free in my mind!
마크러팔로가 춤을 추면서 황급히 댄스 플로어로 뛰어들어가는 장면.
이 장면은 그가 왜 좋은 배우인지를 알 수 있게 해준다.
*"MUSIC IS SIMPLY*
*EXCELLENT."*
And people say original movies aren't being made anymore...
It's emma stone being weird...nothing new
Isn’t this just a variant of Frankenstein? Yeah really original lol
@@sonofyou9086tell me you haven’t watched the film without telling me you haven’t watched the film lol
A fascinating, hilarious scene, great choreography - I don't think I was ever more mesmerized and amused by any dancing scene before
Check out Saturday Night Fever and Napoleon Dynamite, they have some iconic dance sequences
whilst there is no denying this is a masterclass of acting from Emma Stone and she will deserve every accolade and award coming her way, i do think award bodies do overlook and pick out certain performers and films. Mia Goth in Pearl was absolutely mesmerising in her performance and is sadly overlooked.
I need to watch pearl. Thanks for reminding me of it!
I'm usually superbored by dancing in movies or anywhere. But this? This is iconic. You have to watch the movie to understand why.
I became a child watching this scene. This scene is so dreamy and euphoric.
I love this scene, it's so silly yet so mesmerizing 💜💜
The music and dancing is so wonderfully unsettling that it's mesmerizing
This is the best dance scene in the history of movies. In my opinion.
You need to watch more movies then
@@franciscobutte agreed, many newbies here
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm@@franciscobutte
No way: give a try to "Addams family Values" tango scene and "Pulp Fiction"s twist dance scene!
@@nikfabbi87 al pacinos tango dance in " scent of a woman " :)
FINALLY saw PT and this, and the woman singing Fado, was exhilarating. Lisa Suckdog Carver once said "I was put on this earth to be excited" and this scene and Bella standing transfixed by the Fado singer perfectly encapsulates that assertion. That, Portugese tarts and of course "furious jumping".....
Me exactly when I am in the dance floor.
Merecido Oscar para Emma Stone, una genia!!!...iconica, adelantada y muy pronto de culto.❤
Already one of the best moments in movie history.
This is the best scene in the movie? I’ll pass then…
0:43 marks little frolic has me laughing every time.
This movie seems like it gives fever dream energy
this scene made me cry so much
Of laughter ig
Is no one going to talk about how the music at the start is the perfect Boss entry music?
Good ear.
Why does this almost seem nightmarish? I love it though 😂
im watching this for the 100th time.
So glad to see Mark Ruffalo in this film, one of my favorite actors. So humble too.
To describe this film in shortcut: "The Rule63 of Frankenstein".
"The man over there repeated blinks at me. I blink back. For polite, I think."
I love how bizarre Bella's speech is as she slowly acquires language.
0:28 omg I love Yorgos wideshot
Stupid shot
That guy playing the instrument is the composer Jerskin Fendrix.
@@GodwinBaxter Oh, what a nice little cameo.
cool!
@@GodwinBaxter
It worked for “The Favourite.” Copying his previous work seems cheap however.
i have GOT to see this movie now, that dance scene deserves an academy award!
me dancing in the club:
Right 😂😂😂😂. Me too…😂😂😂😂😂
This dancing scene makes me lol 😂
She looks pretty scary, like possess by daemon I think she is ready to play some evil witch in some new horror. It will be definitely cool.
que belleza como retrataron la musica de esa sociedad y las costumbres de esa sociedad, absolutamente increible.
Yorgos loves a weird dance moment
A well deserved Oscar for a change. Brilliant to watch.
I love that dance scene it’s so funny. Does Emma turned into a breakthrough dancer and I can say you can add that meme part where she can breakdown dance like “Body, yada yada yada” by Megan Thee Stallion. That could be a funny dance meme scene ever.
Looks like Mark Ruffalo owned his dance cool. What She-Hulk? You’re not dancing your fake butt along with Megan? Nah girl, this is what mentally Gwen Stacey breakthrough along with your cousin, Bruce Banner. 😝
Best ADULT DISNEY movie ever!
Couldn't have said it better myself 😂
This was fantastic.
Made me want to watch the film.
0:30 me whenever I re-listen to Repo from Black Dice
This scene was utter madness! I can't wait watch!
Award this movie and all the actors 9/10
Such a mesmerizing scene 🎉 both are great actors ❤
@0:16 me: “omg they’re playing shake sumn “ 😂
A 'neat' contemporary-dance (perchance) 'precedent' (video-short) would be 'To Get Her' (by 'Jukstapoz Dance Co.') from a decade-or-so back (esp. mid-way thru).
Can’t find it
You can't just say perchance
🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 ...when cinema is pure art❤ thank you all , for this masterpiece❤
Toddlers when they hear music
Esta secuencia es de culto ❤ tétrica y perfecta
It takes two to tango
Мне напомнило рекламу прафюма кензо😅
It’s giving me Clockwork Orange vibes
Mark Ruffalo lo dió todo todito y todo
Brutal, la mejor escena del año
Shades of the Wednesday dance.
First, we had the Wednesday dance, and now we have the Bella dance, put them together, and you get a typical Saturday night out😅
Great movie 😊
0:48 This kicking back was so hilarious. She could injure someone behind them.
This should become at least as iconic as the dance scene from Pulp Fiction.
One day it will once the sheep discover it.
Behold a vibrant young woman dancing freely to the rhythm of life when along comes a lad...
this goes well with some fine well aged hard bass - наш гимн song
I have got to see this movie!
This scene was crazy good. I laughed watching him as he ticked in looking all psycho.
I blinked back that is cute
Lanthimos likes dance as a metaphor for freedom, don’t he?
Looks like an interesting cute movie maybe maybe. Who who knows
Cannot wait to watch this
yo luego de un vaso de agua en una fiesta XDD
No puedo parar de reir, es una escena perfectamente hecha
I smiled, even though it's not a good day for me.
If Einstürzende Neubauten existed in the pre-war era.
I have already seen the film in German, I will now watch it again in English even though my English is not perfect.
this is how my 2 yo nephew dances 😂
I guess in Victorian England it was considered to be acceptable behavior to pummel a stranger for wanton winking. At least he didn't challenge the guy to a duel.
Watching Emma Stone dance, it's no wonder she's managed to break seven bones in her body.
Trenton Farrentino's "Gulp Friction"
Why this scenes is not viral like Jenna Ortega’s dance 💃?
Idc what anyone says her hair was always on point
Also the costumes were amazing.
Like the scene sooo much ❤ such weird dance like i love ❤ reminds a kenzo world adv, it was so good, and also weird
Mark Ruffalo is an absolute HOOT IN THIS 😂😂😂
Genius!
La mejor escena!
it's hypnotic and surreal
