Not that anyone cares, but this is my favorite music video ever created. And if you’re still reading, I’ll tell you why. It’s Phish singing a Rolling Stones song with black female backup singers (Jerry Garcia band style) with horns. What can be better than that? Well shut your pie hole for a second and I’ll answer that question for you: you can’t.
Just got into Phish and its 2022. First show was in June of this year and they absolutely melted my face off. They killed it at the show and they KILLED this cover.
I love that moment where Trey looks back at the backup singers and one of them nods in acknowledgment. Small but very beautiful moment of love, respect and living in the moment
My 1st phish show was aug. 3rd, 1991 Amys farm in Auburn Maine. Last show I went to was in Coventry Vermont 03. Miss those days of being on tour. Went to 132 shows, went into 33 of those shows.. including NYE 2000 in big cypress florida. Man, what a blast I had :) rock on-space
@@mutoneon yeah. I'm 50 now. Lol. I still live less than a mile from where Amy's farm was held. My comment was posted 12 years ago.. been to a bunch of shows since then. Lol
Amy's farm was one of the first tapes I ever traded for. My first was 94 Spartanburg two nights before The White album. I caught roughly 75 or so with my last being Big Cypress. Plattsburgh was awesome and 97 Virginia Beach opening before new songs was pretty cool. God I miss the 90s. Cheers 12 years late 😂
@@Matt-ib8fs nice. Big Cypress will always be my favorite show. That all night set was crazy. My original comment was 12 years ago. Since then I hit some more shows. Chicago at Wrigley Field in 2016 was my last show. My show count is 156. I still live less than a mile from Amy's farm. Lol
Love this cover, the first time i saw them play it, it definitely blew my hair back. that was back in the early 90s, man I'm getting old. My last Phish show was at Big Cypress. All you young folks enjoy yourselves, the memories will last a lifetime, at least the ones you remember will.
This show is why hundreds know my wife and I as "The cool rents!" Took our two boys from Maine at the age of 13 and 15. We were literally the second car let in. Our 15 year old met the woman he married 10 years to the day later. Just the best time of our lives.
This is gonna sound crazy but I can almost guarantee you that you and I were at the same shows. Maybe not that crazy, as a group we phish folk tend to wander. I missed the whole of summer tour, haven't seen the boys since the Greek last year. I'm still trying to find out who the fuck thought is was a good idea to play the Greek Theatre. "Let's gather 20,000 40 somethings and make them stand on the steepest hill on the the planet", is how I'm guessing that went
@@BrendanMcMahon-gx4rd Did you go-to Clifford Ball or went in Maine? Or that awesome Florida show they had that I missed? All I made was Clifford. Bring the ninety's back!
I was at this performance in Indio, CA. Amazing 3 day Phish fest. Watching this video puts me right back there. To all you Phish haters, go listen to some Nickelback or something. At least some people know good music when they see it.
Hope you had a great wedding reception (even though I wasn't there..I'm fun at weddings..do the cha-cha-slide and everything!! haha)..wishing you many happy years of marriage..Congratulations!!
Loving cup!! What a great song to celebrate on Halloween with the one you love and the band you love!!. Thank you phish for such a spectacular festival!!
Apart from the awesome, traditional jam, what's the problem? Phish is well known for long jams and for giving tribute to great rock an roll songs and their artists. The Rollin Stones only play this song occasionally in concert, Phish realized what a great song this ism and covered it, in my opinion better. Don't be such a downer on these guys, I've seen them on many different occasions, and they never disappoint.
@@euphegenia I was there for that too. But just because a jam is long does not make it great. Really Phish shouldn't be playing songs longer than 12 minutes. They aren't YES

I've been going to shows for 12 years now (yea I know I'm young compared to some of the vets), but Festival 8 was the greatest weekend I've ever experience in my entire life... I never thought they'd return to form from the few shows pre-2002 hiatus I was lucky enough to see but this festi changed everything. Even had some friends there that weren't even into Phish who considered it to be the best weekend of their lives as well...
Whenever I hear Phish's version of this I feel like this is a love letter to the audience or maybe from the audience. Similar to the Dead's version of Not Fade Away in the feeling I get from it.
Semper Fry Thanks for sharing these! I've seen Trey in Seattle at the Parmount in '04, and again at the Palace in Albany, NY back in '08. Still have to get to my first PHISH show

This was my first phish show. Got invited last min never heard of them. Just saw my 40th show last week. What a beautiful buzz.
That’s pretty amazing! The time flies! Festival was your first? That must’ve been different!
There is nothing like the freedom the feeling of full spiritual release during a show.
The energy is unlike anything.
For real. My first run was the vegas Halloween 16 shows. First show was at the gorge

As a die hard Stones and Exile on Main st fan I give this a thumbs up. Great version and they’re having a blast.
The horn section in this song is so underrated, Phish did a great job!
So are girls singing background. Because this is the best cover ever.

IMO this is the most underatted stones song. Phish covers it beautifully!
