In this video, we take a look at a new dog food service, crafted kibble. This service offers customized dog food based on a profile you create for your dog allowing you to enter information including age, weight, medical conditions and protein preferences as well as activity level. Based on their internal research they will provide a "crafted" version of dog food containing one of six different proteins for your dog. This will be delivered weekly in pre-portioned pouches. This allows you to ensure you feed your dog consistently and not worry about over or underfeeding while generally accounting for base nutrition requirements.
The food is produced in the US and is batch tested and generally a limited ingredient-based food. it does include protein meals and offers options for grain-free or "with grain" options so it is very flexible depending on your preferences for ingredients. There are no organic ingredients or pasture-raised proteins but at this price point, this is generally not something that is found and is similar to other more "premium" kibble dog foods. It does carry the benefits of no soy-based products, no superfluous items like corn or excess rice. Additionally, due to being prepared specifically to your dog it carries a fresher production date which can improve flavor and overall nutritional density.

We've had our dogs on Crafted Kibble for about 6 months now with no complaints. They love it and their weight has definitely regulated.
Thanks for the feedback. What Protein did it recommend to you. I have my final review coming soon and do feel their profiling systems is not as dynamic or specific as it suggests and that it is defaulting to Chicken considerably more than other proteins. With that noted how was the intital transition period ( first 2 months ) anything out of the norm? In regards to the weight are you following their feeding guidelines or your own? Been a couple months since your review. Just wondering if you have any further thoughts on this. We currently feed our dog Fromm gold but we are looking more towards a fresher option. Do you think this would be a better way to go than Fromm?
Final review will be coming in the next couple of weeks. I still have a little bit that I am feeding as I wanted to allow for enough time to allow for protein change in my dogs systems and see an affect without any supplements I normally feed. This is especially important for Ultron who generally needs some supplementation to help combat certain skin and coat issues he has. For it's price I think it as a reasonable choice but I do feel there are better options and will definitely highlight this in my review when covering comparisons. How much do you pay for the Fromm you purchase as they have different lines? Some recommendations would include Buckley Liberty , Honest Kitchen Clusters, Addiction Salmon Bleu, Only Natural Pet Canine PowerFood Just Fish Feast, Earthborn Holistic Venture Alaska Pollock Meal & Pumpkin
Do you have any recommendations for a less costly grain inclusive (or a formula that doesn’t include lentils peas or a lot of potatoes)? I’ve been looking at natural pet maxmeat, but it’s very expensive. I was also looking at NRG which is cheaper but contains garlic.
Air-dried meat options are a great limited ingredient, high protein, high-quality feeding option but are costly. Only Natural Pet is one of the lowest cost especially compared to Ziwi or. It is the premium you pay for a focus on a much higher quantity of animal protein. You may want to consider canned food like Kiwi Kitchens, the increased water/moisture can also be beneficial for many dogs who do not drink enough water. With that note I am not against potatoes or certain carbs as well as lentils, it all depends on the ratio present versus the protein as well as I would ideally not go with a potato and lentil type mix with Chicken. If it has lentil I would definitely try to look for it not being in the top 3 to 5 ingredients. With that noted options to consider ( without Lentils or Potatoes ) would be Nature's Logic they have some great choice that can be pretty cost reasonable and instead integrates millet which along with oats are some solid choices if a company includes them. Check out their Venison, Beef or Sardine. All good choices. Nulo freesytle Salmon is also another reasonable choice. Lastly Castor and Pollux Pristine Salmon.
