    PIK 2 in North Jakarta is just wow! Modern buildings, beautiful Chinese temple, even a beach! I appreciate the pet-friendly mall too not to mention that it's also a giant food market! I gotta say North Jakarta might be Jakarta's hidden gem! Would love to visit this when I come back! Awesome content by the way! 🇮🇩

    Hi Amir! Your video is interesting😁❤❤I just wanted to provide a bit of information, As you mentioned earlier about the large number of Chinese people in North Jakarta, actually, not all of us are originally from China. Many of us are descendants who have integrated with the native population over generations. In fact, many of us do not wish to be called "Chinese" because of our strong sense of nationalism towards this country. Instead, you can call us "Chindo," which stands for Chinese-Indonesian
    The presence of Chinese people in Indonesia dates back to the 5th century AD. There is even a historical account of them establishing their own state in Indonesia, specifically on the island of Kalimantan, called the "Lanfang Republic" in the 18th century, which was later destroyed by the Dutch during the colonial period.

    • @AmirMalikTravel
      @AmirMalikTravel  7 месяцев назад

      Oh wow Alfonsia I didn’t know that! Thanks so much for providing this information! Thats pretty cool to know , it’s really different to the Chinese in Malaysia who still want to be known as Chinese

    • @AlfonsiaArnoldia
      @AlfonsiaArnoldia 7 месяцев назад +11

      Yup, that's right, we are Chindo (Chinese-Indonesians), you could even say that we are different from our neighboring country, Malaysia, whose ethnic Chinese people are reluctant to be called "Malaysians" because they are considered synonymous with Malays. Unlike us in Indonesia, who have experienced assimilation for a long time, we are very Indonesian😁❤

    • @tmsgaming123
      @tmsgaming123 7 месяцев назад +8

      @@AlfonsiaArnoldia betul, saya Chindo sudah tidak ngerti urusan negara China, tapi hafal sejarah dan ideologi Indonesia dan sudah bangga bisa jadi bagian dari Indonesia. Dalam pertandingan apapun meskipun team China bisa dibilang lebih unggul saya tetap membela Indonesia.
      Kalau di luar negeri ditanya apakah saya dari China (karena terlihat dari wajah) saya akan jawab : bukan, saya dari Indonesia!
      NKRI harga mati!!!

    Next... visit *_Taman Mini Indonesia Indah_*. You can take the JABODEBEK LRT, Cibubur Line from Dukuh Atas LRT Station or other stations closest to where you stay, get off at Tamini Square Station, from there you can take a special free shuttle bus to Taman Mini.
    FYI, to pay for all modes of public transport in Jakarta (MRT, LRT, BRT, KRL Commeter train) you must purchase an e-Money card at Indomaret or a JakLingko Card at BRT TransJakarta stops.

    Lol, you haven't seen much from PIK 2, the place is still building a lot of tourist places, there would be a luxury island to park yachts and cruise, zoo, water park, international stadium, beach club, religious islands where they build 5 temples from each recognized religion, mangrove forest, restaurants from around the world with their own unique theme and many more (along with other non touristy places like business district, otomotive hub, design hub, hospital, school, university etc). It's an expensive place for sure, but that's because the place is really expensive and luxurious although I don't think it can compare to UK or US prices. The lighting at night is really good too, there will be water shows in the future, the bars would be quite noisy tho.
    All in all, if you have the chance to visit Jakarta again in around 5 years, you might want to spend 2-3 days in this place alone (there are airbnbs and hotels here).

    All said South Jakarta is the most modern compare others because their CBD reputation. Jakarta is surrounding by other modern city into one megapolis that called JABODETABEK (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi) each city has own governor to rule. I think Tangerang is the largest. You should also have to take a look. btw if You still in North Jakarta try Ancol it's also tourism spot, it's famous.

      @@zzeroemissions3364 bruh klo pernah main ke Taman Mini itu ada museum tiongkok, disitu dijelasin migrasi massal mereka tuh dulu karena opresi rezim tiongkok saat itu, alhasil pada ke Indonesia masuknya dari kalimantan salah satunya, ada juga yg ke medan dsb. Nah letsay mereka yg generasi awal emg masih dari mainland sana, tapi kan yg udah turun temurun di medan, surabaya, jakarta, dsb masa masih embrace budaya cinanya bukan budaya tanah kelahirannya tsb? disitu yg sering disebut waktu era orba dulu "gagal berasimilasi"/"eksklusif". Cewe gue aja orang etnis tionghoa itu cerita sama tantenya masih dipaksa2 arahin klo kerja sebisa mungkin ke yg lingkungannyna tionghoa smua etnisnya. Despite segala macam keburukan yg dilakuin orba(korup, otoriter, dsb) pada hal terkait kebijakan transmigrasi, dan penertiban etnis tionghoa disuruh pakai nama lokal itu gue dukung sih. Liat aja malaysia ributnya kan soal gituan skrg wkwk.

      @@zzeroemissions3364 orang betawi itu secara historis baru loh, mungkin baru sekitar dari abad-18, mostly penduduk awalnya dari jawa barat(cirebon, banten, dsb). Tapi mereka karena dah turun temurun lahir di jakarta/batavia ya yg mereka embrace budaya betawinya. Coba orang etnis tionghoa? misal ambil sampel dah lahir turun temurun di medan apakah dia ngeembrace budaya medan?misal tarian adat medan?oh tentu tidak...yg diembrace malah tetep barongsai dsb. Itu yg saya sebut asimilasinya kurang baik.

And these city is still on development (not 100% fully finished yet), it takes a couple years ahead but indeed some areas of PIK 2 have been opened and can be visited by public.
