Very cool! Great to see when people come to NEPA and enjoy the riding. I moved to Kingston, PA (Wilkes-Barre) in 2007 from Buffalo, NY and I’ve been spoiled with all veins of cycling here. MTB, road, gravel, BMX, rail trail…. It’s all here in abundance! great area for climbing too. Glad you enjoyed your stay. 😊
For anyone doing the D&H, definitely drive over to Honesdale (20 min away). This is a very cool small town with some good microbreweries and a must visit restaurant called Native
From U.K., been watching your videos for a while, admire how you make cycling part of your lifestyle, but intrigued how you shot these videos, they are so good.
I’m so jealous of these trails with the green and the history and the railroad history especially. Love to learn about things when I travel places, this feels like a great relatable ride. I’m also so ready to move back east after 15 years out in the empty west.
I can recommend the Lower (pronounced "Lauer") near Alexandria, PA. Great gravel trail along a river with tall rock formations and an ice cream stand at the end. It makes every business trip a pleasure to take your bike along and discover the hidden beauty of the local bike trails along the way. The exercise of riding clears the mind and helps with business too!
Nice video. I have hundreds of miles logged between the D&H and the O&W as I live fairly close to them. I just did a 33 miler yesterday from Jessup to Forest City and back. You can put together some nice long rides using both trails.
Everyone's 401K retirement went up by 50% from 4 years ago too. And if you don't count the COVID crash, it still went up by >25%. Enjoy your riding Tim. Be advised in the Boston area, they allow cars to use the shoulder during rush hour. I'm a 30 year trucker and a cyclist.....Be safe!
I felt way safer on my bike than in my car in Boston - the infrastructure is great now. I've been there a number of times now to work and visit my friends - the driving is nuts!
With the first iteration of my ebike, I had a 'pusher bike' tow-along. But some inclines required me to dismount, and walk whilst using the epower to get rig and passenger up.
Grew up in PA. I wish I did more of these rail trails. Used to road ride to work. People were so aggressive. Throwing things at me. Honking etc. such a big diff riding in the Bay Area compared to back home in PA. Maybe it’s changed though.
I've been driving I-84 a lot lately, this is really news I can use, thanks! I didn't realize there was rail trail riding so close to Scranton. Even on a bad day Interstate Airlines is better than flying.
Yeah - airlines are completely unreliable now. It looks like it would be doable to connect this to Scranton with other bits of trails. Definitely do some research on that. I just ran out of time and went for the safe bet in Carbondale.
Hey Tim, next time you spin through eastern PA you should plan a ride from Easton PA to Washington's Crossing on the D&L. This trail has everything you can ask for history, cool towns and breweries.
I'll explain more of the Boston riding in the next vid but I had no idea when or how much I would be able to ride so I didn't make anything public beforehand.
We have a heritage rail trail with the same slight incline/decline and when I'm coming back down I always wonder, is this what an ebike feels like to ride 🤔
Bud… Should’ve reached out. I lived in that area and went to the same school as Ed’s sister. Probably could’ve got you a guest room with a cycling friend.
That was the whole thing - a week before I didn't know what day I was going to leave, the night before I didn't know what time I was going to leave. I didn't reach out to anyone(except Eric in Boston) the whole trip because I didn't know exactly where I would be anywhere or when I would be free. My original plan was to do more and be gone longer and this would have helped - but when the trip got moved last minute I needed to be on my own schedule entirely.
Nice video, thanks! I love rail trails. Some other short ones in PA are the Connocton and Panhandle Trails near PGH. As for politics, I'm definitely better off than four years ago and I'm retired. I was in NW Ohio farm country recently and in someone's front yard was a huge flag that said, "F#CK Biden". Now, I was born in Mississippi, raised in blue collar Philly, 40 years in SoCal, and now live in a purple section of Colorado; and I cannot understand how a flag with "F#CK" in a person's yard is "Conservative". Back in the 1960's, when I was growing up, neighbors would be knocking on that door with the police. It is not conservative any longer, it is the party of one narcissist, racist person. There, I said it for you. ☮
100% It’s all just cult of personality. They believe whatever he says even if it goes against things that party long stood for. Wild. A few years ago my right leaning, former banker Dad said - “now I know how Hitler happened”.
Looks like a nice ride. Nice talk. Nice music. As always. So sorry for your “cancer” exposure… although making a sign of a wind turbine over your heart would have been protective I’m sure. 😂 Regards, long time wind industry veteran
Enjoyed the video. I’m definitely better off than I was four years ago. I work less, my income is higher, ride n wrench more and live in a neighborhood where people don’t lock their doors. By the way my views are neither democratic, conservative, liberal or republican.
ok two things (_im in Frostburg Md btw) This part of the states is so nice to ride. Can you have more uninterupted music on the video possibly?? great music here,,, wish i could let it play moar.
I've been through Frostburg - isn't it on the GAP? Some videos are all music with no commentary. This video is a vlog. I will continue to maker all kinds based on what I feel the vid needs or just what I am in the mood for.
@@TimFitzwater yeah i watch some of your videos but not all of them.. ill check out your other good music tastes. yeah frostburg is on the GAP. Cheers dude
No way! New York has unwritten rules - if you follow them there are rarely problems - if you break them then yes - you will be an outcast. But there is order - Boston is total chaos!!
@@TimFitzwater funny that’s how I feel about new york! I do agree that the roads in Boston are chaotic but I find the drivers to be more predictable. more crazy guys weaving between lanes shooting gaps in NY for some reason. And CT has the whole left exit thing so everyone uses the right lane as the passing lane. hate that! I say that as someone who moved out here from chicago. IMO east coast drivers in general are maybe more aggressive but much more attentive than Illinois drivers. I think the crazy roads make it harder to space out maybe!
Nice Video but not very useful for someone out of state. It would be very useful if all you Vloggers would spend more time giving directions on where to park like all the parking places along the trail. At lease for me I only watch these videos to find places to ride when traveling. I been within blocks of trail heads only not to find them.

I use GoPros but I believe certain settings and a little post-production go a long way in getting better looking images out of them.

That is one thing we have no shortage of out here - interesting trails.
What a sweet ride. I also like learning the history of the trails and area I ride in. Gives you a sense of wonder and respect.
There were so many signs on this ride I actually didn't stop for them all - but I wanted to!

Great idea to drive and get some bike riding time In as well. 🍻

Looking forward to the Boston video! Cool to see you pursuing those new rides like you were hoping for earlier in the year.
Looks like another great ride. Always feels good to be able to work a ride into a work trip!
Great video.. Looked relaxing. Can't wait to the next segment.
If you make it back to the D & H Trail, the northern end, near the NY border, has a really cool railroad viaduct.
Yes! That is on my list - I'm considering it for a multi-day trip next summer.
Love the contrast of the new bar tape on the red bike!
Thanks! That was all Ben at Dirty River.
With the first iteration of my ebike, I had a 'pusher bike' tow-along. But some inclines required me to dismount, and walk whilst using the epower to get rig and passenger up.
Ah - I didn't know what that mode meant - makes sense.
We need more deep thoughts. the anti-cancer cross was also awesome.

I'm sure it depends on where you were and how long ago but I'm guessing it has changed a lot.
Nice fresh bar tape! That's some serious blue.
Thanks! My buddy Ben put that on when I was on my trip on the Gunnar. It matches the blue touches in the paint and I love it.

Looks chill

Road trip!!!!!!! Nice!!!!
Looks like a nice trip!

That is exactly what a pedal assist ebike feels like!

Thanks again, do you have a vision regarding an eventual Fitzwater Photography Grav Grav van?
I don't think so - I really hate driving and as you'll see in the next one I can sleep in the back of the Matrix.

There is no relaxing when driving in Mass, we get all the northeast plates here in cape cod in summer.

Lmfao Bostons a shit show💚✌️ did you go to trillium brewing?
I didn't this time but I have in the past.
NY and even CT drivers are way more aggressive and erratic than Boston drivers IMO
