The “ little thing “ is called Ned and he was in the Chlorine video where Ned represents creativity and how they are trying to take care of it and make it happy. 🤪
I know right he is my favorite he is so cute I don’t even know why there was even a debate about if he was cute or if he wasn’t. He is the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life other than the girl I like she is a tøp fan and she is actually the reason I started listening to them but I am so glad I did because they have impacted my life so much.
@@jessicaminiolik249 I know they are so amazing they have saved people's lives they took me out of a depressive state. I didn't even talk to people really and now when I listen to them I get to know people who love Tøp too and its amazing
From my understating of this song is that they knew that even though they blew up really fast to getting videos over 1 billion videos as well as a Grammy they knew it wouldn’t last forever. And that their original fan base will always be there for them whether they’re at the top or not
The little effect of the video starting by entering through Tyler's chest is a reference to a song called *"Screen"* saying "I do not know why I think I could lie 'cause there a screen on my chest".
I have several things to say about this MV because I love this band so much I could talk ab them all day, but someone else will probably explain it better. Just wanna say, this whole video has references to other MVs that, after you watch, you might notice (the little monster is from "chlorine" which is amazing) and the transitions from a little crowd to a medium to a big one is most likely a reference to ode to sleep. But also, this song is about their own hype, really. After their album "Blurryface", when they exploded with "Stressed Out", they took a year long hiatus and they were afraid people would stop caring about them, that after the hype of that album died down people would forget them, but Tyler trusted that the real fans would stay. And he tells us that he is glad to know he can count on us, on the people who really love them for their music and not just because the hype around them, and that we shouldn't care about it either, that we are his kind and we can trust him. As I said, this doesn't even get close to all the things I wanna say ab this song and video, but you know, there's not enough time in the world for that.
There’s also theory that him saying my interior world needs to sanitize is referring to their song chlorine where he said a “sippin on straight chlorine” which would sanitize his interior world. Also that little character in the audience is in the chlorine video. He’s named ned. It represents his interior world idk lol.
I honestly dont even think its a theory. While Trench is a very loose concept album, everything is supposed to be a story to I'm not surprised seeing that. Just like neon gravestones being referenced in Bandito.

Hey, great video again! About the clip, it's basically about their story. Blurryface album is the red album(from the color on the album to them using red beanie, and so on) Trench is the yellow album(same here, the yellow tape on the wall and so much moore) Tyler made him self a own world. I'm from Sweden and my enghlish is'nt so good to help you explain the whole storie. I would love to see someone explain everything from the red album and later the yellow album. It will open a whole new world, it's amazing stuff that come's out from Tylers head. If someone could help you understand, l think you should be shoocked to understand DEMA. And how people get clues on random make'd sites on internet and how the whole world saw yellow things and posters. Man, this is sooo deep. You are amazing when you react and explain the lyrics 💎 I love this channel 🙏❤️ A lot of love and light from Sweden 🇸🇪
I'm so glad I found your channel. I never watched reaction channels because I wanted to see some superficial, cookie-cutter reaction to certain videos. I was always looking for a more in-depth and thought out analysis of what was going on. Based on the comments I see a lot of other people feel the same way. Keep up the good work cause as far as I know, your the only one doing it.
You gotta watch and listen to all the trench album to see and hear the links in their songs. The whole album is a concept itself and the world they made in the album
You’ve legit ruined watching all other reactors for me 😂 Nobody else pays so much attention and breaks down so well. You have a new subscriber my dude 🤘🏼
The transition from the "living room" area to the Garage symbolizes (I think) the way their growth and sudden burst of attention happened. Because in the Living Room no one was paying attention. They were all doing their own thing while Tyler and Josh played, but in the garage, the two had everyone's attention. The transition could be described as a sudden thing, Tyler just up and unplugs his guitar, no smooth outro or warning, he just leaves.
It's so cool to hear different interpretations of the song, especially on your first listen. My first take on this song has always stuck with me and I thought about it like this: Everyone feels things differently, everyone's lives are different. Especially during this age of social media, everyone around you is posting pictures and statuses about how awesome their lives are and how blessed they are (the hype) but sometimes it's disheartening when you're going through something different. Like when you're down and out and things look rough and you're stuck thinking, "Why me?" or, "Why is my life so hard? Why can't I be blessed?" Tyler's out here saying, "DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE," because yeah people can make life look easy and breezy but they could also just be hiding their struggle. "And you know you're a terrible sight, but you'll be just fine." Everyone's got a struggle, life isn't always perfect. And I've always interpreted the "step through" as, yeah right now you're sad but one of these days you won't be. You'll step through the hype and be fine with where you are. And then when I saw this music video for the first time, I took the explosions as the break through (or step through). I haven't really seen anyone with this point of view but I think that's what makes these guys so intriguing. Tyler writes these songs, interpreting them one way but he knows they could also be molded to fit how the audience feels because at one point or another, he's felt the same way. Idk man, just my two cents. I know this video I'm commenting on is from last year but I've only recently discovered your channel and your interpretations are so spot on and sometimes you give me things to think about that I didn't even consider and I've been a fan of them since the very beginning. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, FAM! This is long af but y'know, who cares?
6:31 its the basement. Earlier in the song he said “I’ll record my step through for my basement tapes” thats literally what he did. He recorded himself stepping through to his basement where they continued playing. Tyler Joseph everybody.
I wanted to say that all of the people in this video were fans. They had fans submit a form & they chose them. ALL FANS. When you do another Twenty One Pilots please do Neon Gravestones, I would LOVE to hear your breakdown. (yes I've been one of the ones requesting this song lol)
First time seeing/hearing but I take it as "we *blew up* but we are still the same guys, the guys that performed in living rooms for friends/family, the guys we have always been".

A few more TøP you have got to hit... based strictly on watching the Hype, the following will inform some of the questions you had from this video: -Screen -Chlorine What I want you to listen to next (all official videos): -Holding On To You -HeavyDirtySoul Jumpsuit Nico and The Niners Levitate Proposed TøP introduction series/train: [Self Titled Album] Addict With a Pen Fall Away (live version with Dr. Bloom) A Car, a torch, a Death Taxi Cab [ Regional at Best] Kitchen Sink Forest Lovely [Vessel] {Ode to Sleep} Holding On To You {Migraine} {Car Radio} Guns For Hands Screen Trees [BlurryFace] Stressed Out Ride Fairly Local Tear In My Heart The Judge Doubt HeavyDirtySoul [Soundtrack] Heathens [Trench] Jumpsuit Nico And the Niners Levitate My Blood Chlorine {The Hype} Neon Gravestones
Love the reaction. Several others had told you about Ned from the chlorine video. The end with the caprisun comes from Stressed Out. The concert last night was amazing and I’m ready for more TØP.
you got it! tyler once said that he's chalenging himself writing about ordinary or obvious things in a creative way, the way that it never been said before.
Duuuude! Im am sooo happy to have come across your channel. Im a fan of Twenty One Pilots and so thats how I found this video. I loove how you break it down for people. Im going to go ahead and assume that you are making so many more fans for these bands by explaining the meanings behind the lyrics. Sometimes you just get it because you can relate but if you dont, you need the explaination. You rock! Love the content!
So the little dude's name is NED, and Tyler has said it represents his idea of creativity. If you listen to and watch Chlorine, you might be able to get a better idea of the little guy. It was the first music video that he made an appearance in. Love your content bro, you have some good insights to not only the music, but the videos. Really impressive for a first timer
Fun fact: this video was made sometime in July of 2019. This was before the band's final show of the Bandito tour in Columbus Ohio (their hometown). They sent out a casting call on social media for the fans, if they were in the Columbus area during a certain time in just to send over their name and info to be in the music video. I know multiple people from fan pages and such that traveled to be in this video. I remember my friend and I had just gone to the San Antonio show a week before and we were broke from the concert so we didn't try. This is a band who deeply appreciates their devout fans. Another reason to love and appreciate.
LOVE the similarities between "ode to sleep" video progression and this one. Both start of with small crowd of like 12 people, then a bit bigger crowd halfway through and then the bumpin crowd at the end! So good how they portray their journey!
Theeeere's my favorite RUclipsr, your reaction makes me realise the little things I didn't get while listening the first time, that's dope. Keep slaying
You have got to react to "Trees" by them live!! they always close out their shows with that song and it is amazing live. I prefer the Fox Thearter video on youtube.
Gotta love a good Mario Kart reference, I didn’t realize the frustration of sliding on a banana across the finish line was a universal experience haha. This was a really cool video for you break down for us
@@TheThirdErnest me and my best friend got to have a great experience twice. I've been to a lot of shows, I'd say around 20. Only other one that was close for me was maybe Shinedown.
The little guy you saw while they were on the roof was Ned he's featured on the song Chlorine. If you haven't noticed he also used yellow tape to fix the painting, and yellow tape plays a significant role on the Trench album signifying the Banditos. Also, the place this was shot at seems to be the same neighborhood on Stressed Out. TOP has been planning out their music videos for a very long time.
His name is Ned! He represents a lot of things in a way, but specifically it really represents creativity and trying to take care of it and trying to please it
aubreydink i also feel like it also kinda represents a new being/creature in his life/world. Tyler and Jenna announced the pregnancy not too long after that video came out, right? 👀🤔😂
Basement tapes is a reference to the fact that he recorded his first solo album alone in his basement in high school. It’s called No Phun Intended. He also recorded and produced this new album Trench in his home basement. I like the Hype but it’s in my bottom two songs off of the Trench Album which if I haven’t mentioned it is a masterpiece. The yellow tape is a big reference from the Trech trilogy videos released (Jumpsuit, Nico and the Niners and Levitate). A lot of the clique owns yellow duct tape for concerts (it’s a thing you’ll get later if you do more Trench songs). As others mentioned the little creature is NED from the Chlorine MV. I think you should do Heavy Dirty Soul next and then the Trench MV trilogy mentioned above 👍🏽
Spot on interpretation. This song is on Trench which is an album written about their struggles of living with the way they blew up after Blurryface. Most of it is told in an imaginative world called Dima that Tyler created as a metaphor. But Cut my Lip and Chlorine are really good songs to breakdown.
If you listen really closely at 7:56 you can hear something from an old video called 'two-piece' where tyler says: "we're gonna rely pretty heavily on technology and energy to cover up the fact that we're only two people. but I think we can do it."
ok so ... 1. the little thing is called NED, you gotta watch chlorine 2. the reason why Josh does not move to the garage and then to the roof it's because these are Tyler's struggles, Josh is just always there to support him. 3. They kept on adding flannel as the hype started to get bigger 4. those are not actors, they are actually fans that were chosen randomly to participate in the video 5. when he falls back down is the representation of when they took one year off of social media and made this new concept album called trench. the album is meant to have no single hits and it's a whole story about this city called DEMA. the album was not made for the mainstream but for the fans. this is their attempt at trying to go back to their roots
The start of the video, when the screen opens on his chest... that is a nod to the song "Screen" from Vessel .... you should totally go back to the beginning of TØP and dig in.... every song has so much meaning, and they are ALL pretty much connected. Tyler is definitely a concept artist.
The cool thing about this video too....is how they put in a million little throwbacks to all of their previous music videos. For instance the Capri sun goes back to Stressed Out, the gradual increase in crowd size goes back to Ode To Sleep, etc. So it’s fun to go back and rewatch the Hype once you’ve seen all the others. Tyler is a mastermind.
basement tapes refers to Tyler's first album, called No Phun Intended which he recorded in his parents' basement in 2007, whilst he was in the middle of his depression, etc.
Ik this definitely isn’t what this music video is referencing but I suddenly saw its exact parallels with a poem called “Mother, any distance”. The story line of this video is the exact same down to the opening a hatch in the roof towards a sky of opportunity and not quite knowing where you’re going (the lyrics). The only thing that’s not in line with the poem is the reversed ending. Just something the caught my interest that’s all
There are a couple symbols in this video such as the duct tape and the fuzzy little animal. The animals name is Ned and appears in the song Chlorine. He represents Tyler’s inspiration. The duct tape is one of the biggest symbols in the whole Trench album. In order to understand that you have to watch Jumpsuit the Levitate (the song is all rap). Then you’ll start to see the imaginary world they created. After that I would also suggest Neon Gravestones. It’s touches on a subject that needs to be talked about today.
Man. Mister Ernest does some great reviews. His understanding of metaphor, word play, and intelligent writing consistently impresses. He even caught the importance of Ned on his first view. I did not. I'm fairly certain that I've seen all of T0Ps videos. The thing that I draw from all of them, the one constant, is that Josh is the immovable object in Tyler's world. Tyler may be in a car that is literally about to explode around him, but Josh is there, right in its path refusing to move as only the best of friends and brothers will. Why was he already on the roof? Because he will always be exactly where Tyler needs him to be.
Thank you so much for reacting to them! I found you by literally looking up “ twenty one pilots reactions” (don’t judge me I like it when other people understand their message) and now I’m subbed with post notifs on. Please react to neon gravestones next (I’m nit a patron I have no money) thank you!
Fun fanct: Tyler used to wrote songs in his basement and then record album called no phun intended. It's great album and also some lyrics he used later in his career as twenty one pilots
This is my second run around watching your reviews on TOP and several ones are coming up that I haven't hit the like button, which I KNOW, I did. What's up with that RUclips?!?!
dude it's so hard to understand what is going on on this music video if you havent watch the older music videos of them. the first scene is referencing to their vessel song *screen* ("cause I have a screen on my chest,") the last scene is referencing to *stressed out* they are drinking caprisun like they did in the stressed out music video. the first room they played is referencing their first album as a band, *regional at best.* or to another theory, referencing to their listeners (not fans because they are not paying attention) 2nd room is referencing their 2nd album vessel/their fans. the roof is referencing to their 3rd album blurryface/real fans. demolition of the roof is referencing to the *hiatus* after they won a grammy they went to a break. after everything has falled, tyler wears a white tshirt with camel pants, it's what he wears in the trench concerts in this era. and he fixes the pic with a yellow tape, the *yellow* color means trench. every album of their has a color and yellow is the trench's. that creature at the 10:00 is called *ned* it represents tyler's music/creativity. it's a trench character. watch the *chlorine music video* to learn more about it.

I think you did a great job explaining.
I’m seeing them live in November and I can’t wait
I'm so glad I found your channel. I never watched reaction channels because I wanted to see some superficial, cookie-cutter reaction to certain videos. I was always looking for a more in-depth and thought out analysis of what was going on. Based on the comments I see a lot of other people feel the same way. Keep up the good work cause as far as I know, your the only one doing it.
You gotta watch and listen to all the trench album to see and hear the links in their songs. The whole album is a concept itself and the world they made in the album
Twenty one pilots hit me a way no one does 😭💓
Each stage is inferred to be an album, and the explosion their hiatus
You’ve legit ruined watching all other reactors for me 😂
Nobody else pays so much attention and breaks down so well. You have a new subscriber my dude 🤘🏼
Liked without even watching I love tøp and TheThirdErnest
Jessica Miniolik same!
Judy Caldwell yeah they are both amazing right
Indeed my g💚💯
Same
SAME LOL The third Ernest man... the way he breaks down these TØP videos... the whole time I'm listening to him I'm like: YES YES YESSSS! 🤣
Joy Legon but thats a garage and not a basement???
Cringe Man idk thats the theory ive heard 🤷🏻♀️ in my opinion its not really clear if its a basement or garage
I wanted to say that all of the people in this video were fans. They had fans submit a form & they chose them. ALL FANS. When you do another Twenty One Pilots please do Neon Gravestones, I would LOVE to hear your breakdown. (yes I've been one of the ones requesting this song lol)
Dang, you mentioned things I hadn't even noticed before 🤦🏼♀️
Glad you like even their non bar heavy songs too though!
First time seeing/hearing but I take it as "we *blew up* but we are still the same guys, the guys that performed in living rooms for friends/family, the guys we have always been".
Dude you should be so much bigger, your breakdowns are spot on. How long you b3en going for??
He's been doing breakdowns for a year
Just went to my first twenty one pilots and if they come to your city DEFINITELY get tickets. Best concert I've ever been to
#thethirdernest yo!!!! Love your reactions man - particularly the insights you provide about the video editing and your lyrical breakdowns.

When he said "made it this far... Fam"
It's Ned who is particularly prominent and was introduced in the video for the song Chlorine.
I love that you keep doing twenty one pilots ♥️
I highly recommend heavydirtysoul, message man, and the judge!!
u doin real good reactions
u getting everything right on point
do more
all my support
Appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
This was a really cool video for you break down for us
That shit pissed me off every time lmao
they just released the hype - locations session! you should see it
I've been to 2 TØP concerts and I just went to the show they just did 3 days ago. They have produced my 2 favorite concerts I've ever been to.
I need to check them out next time they are around me for sure
@@TheThirdErnest me and my best friend got to have a great experience twice. I've been to a lot of shows, I'd say around 20. Only other one that was close for me was maybe Shinedown.
The little guy you saw while they were on the roof was Ned he's featured on the song Chlorine. If you haven't noticed he also used yellow tape to fix the painting, and yellow tape plays a significant role on the Trench album signifying the Banditos. Also, the place this was shot at seems to be the same neighborhood on Stressed Out.
TOP has been planning out their music videos for a very long time.
I really appreciate that you take the time to not only analyze the video and lyrics but how the correlate
You have to react to Chlorine to know where the weird thing came from or kinda came from, I still don't know where or what it represents
His name is Ned! He represents a lot of things in a way, but specifically it really represents creativity and trying to take care of it and trying to please it
it represents tyler's creativity/music
aubreydink i also feel like it also kinda represents a new being/creature in his life/world.
React to guns for hands please
Spot on interpretation. This song is on Trench which is an album written about their struggles of living with the way they blew up after Blurryface. Most of it is told in an imaginative world called Dima that Tyler created as a metaphor. But Cut my Lip and Chlorine are really good songs to breakdown.
If you listen really closely at 7:56 you can hear something from an old video called 'two-piece' where tyler says:
"we're gonna rely pretty heavily on technology and energy to cover up the fact that we're only two people. but I think we can do it."
That was the fastest I’ve ever clicked on a video
ok so ...
1. the little thing is called NED, you gotta watch chlorine
2. the reason why Josh does not move to the garage and then to the roof it's because these are Tyler's struggles, Josh is just always there to support him.
3. They kept on adding flannel as the hype started to get bigger
4. those are not actors, they are actually fans that were chosen randomly to participate in the video
5. when he falls back down is the representation of when they took one year off of social media and made this new concept album called trench. the album is meant to have no single hits and it's a whole story about this city called DEMA. the album was not made for the mainstream but for the fans. this is their attempt at trying to go back to their roots
The start of the video, when the screen opens on his chest... that is a nod to the song "Screen" from Vessel .... you should totally go back to the beginning of TØP and dig in.... every song has so much meaning, and they are ALL pretty much connected. Tyler is definitely a concept artist.
EA3..you rock as hard as that drummer!!!😂💞 I could listen to that guy drum all day every day!!😂 much love and light to you fam!!!💞
I like how right after he made this twenty one pilots release the remastered edition
And of course Ned goes back to Chlorine.
basement tapes refers to Tyler's first album, called No Phun Intended which he recorded in his parents' basement in 2007, whilst he was in the middle of his depression, etc.
Do screen please, I love that song
I think the house looks like one of their childhood homes. Tyler's I think. It's in Stressed Out.
I liked that perspective you explained on what makes a writer talented. And what an interesting music video!
Can't wait to see Neon Gravestones next :) Listen to them Patreons! lol
Very insightful commentary🔥 breakdown💯; now appreciating the lyrics and video much more than how it hit before :) Great stuff!!
Ned 😤😤😤 react to chlorine next... my personal fav on their most recent album
Fall Away is my favorite Twenty One Pilots song.
If you want to know what that “little thing” is, react to the chlorine music video.
you have the best reactions. the way you dig into the music is awesome
I love how Josh is always in the next room waiting for him. So wholesome
Thank you so much for reacting to them! I found you by literally looking up “ twenty one pilots reactions” (don’t judge me I like it when other people understand their message) and now I’m subbed with post notifs on. Please react to neon gravestones next (I’m nit a patron I have no money) thank you!
You're reactions/breakdowns are 🔥. Spot on
Honestly would love to hear what you have to say about Addict with a Pen, one of my favorites
Been subbed for a while and if you're on Twenty One Pilots train, I'm shocked you haven't listened to Heavydirtysoul.
That’s for being an OG and tbh I haven’t listened to a lot lol got YEARS to catch up on lol
Love your reactions. Can't wait for Neon Gravestones ❤
Fun fanct: Tyler used to wrote songs in his basement and then record album called no phun intended. It's great album and also some lyrics he used later in his career as twenty one pilots
I was waiting this reaction! I love that song 💛
Ned stands for creativity.
That "little thing" is Ned. He's from the video "chlorine"
REACT TO THE VIDEO “Twenty One Pilots' Tyler Joseph strips down their hits in this exclusive Storyteller Performance”
This is my second run around watching your reviews on TOP and several ones are coming up that I haven't hit the like button, which I KNOW, I did. What's up with that RUclips?!?!
Clicked as soon as I got the notification
THIRD FAMILY THIS EARLY!!
dude it's so hard to understand what is going on on this music video if you havent watch the older music videos of them.
the first scene is referencing to their vessel song *screen* ("cause I have a screen on my chest,")
the last scene is referencing to *stressed out* they are drinking caprisun like they did in the stressed out music video.
the first room they played is referencing their first album as a band, *regional at best.* or to another theory, referencing to their listeners (not fans because they are not paying attention)
2nd room is referencing their 2nd album vessel/their fans.
the roof is referencing to their 3rd album blurryface/real fans.
demolition of the roof is referencing to the *hiatus* after they won a grammy they went to a break.
after everything has falled, tyler wears a white tshirt with camel pants, it's what he wears in the trench concerts in this era. and he fixes the pic with a yellow tape, the *yellow* color means trench. every album of their has a color and yellow is the trench's.
that creature at the 10:00 is called *ned* it represents tyler's music/creativity. it's a trench character. watch the *chlorine music video* to learn more about it.
