The "funniest" part about Shenhe is that despite being a old unit, she has so little rerun that she doesnt even fill the conditions to be dumped into a possible Liyue chronicle banner. Its trully sad for all her wanters. I hope that the second half of Natlan will do cryo justice. I think triple banners (as 2 - 2 - 2 per patch) would be a great way to fix the issue while adding more "new content" during a patch.
the way shenhe is not even eligible for a chronicled wish until she gets at least one more new banner is crazy to me. though i could definitely see them rerunning her alongside mavuika in 5.3 for two main reasons: 1) it's the update that lantern rite would fall on, so it'd be a convenient way to get shenhe out of the way, and 2) the eula-klee situation of 3.8 has probably awakened them to the fact that they've long since killed any chance of shenhe rerun carrying a whole patch half on its own so putting her next to a heavy hitter would help distract from it
I'm 3 weeks late but a great video! Really glad to hear someone talking about the rerun issues. Tbh I really think we need a 3rd banner (and probably needed it a year ago even) but we also need hyv to stop making such weird rerun decisions. They already have way too many characters to rerun (a problem that's worsening every new patch) but they make the backlog even worse by rerunning the same characters 5 times within a version and ignoring ones who are so horrendously overdue. Plus I don't buy the "cryo needs a rework" excuse. I've talked to people who are breezing through abyss using freeze and anyway, hyv NEVER withheld geo characters just because geo was the "dead element." And honestly even if cryo was bad? Characters taking a year or two to rerun just. shouldn't. happen. Ever. It's enough to destroy a person's motivation to even play when they can't get the character they love (speaking from experience, literally uninstalled for a while because I had zero motivation left to play). Anyways sorry for the rant lol it's just something that really frustrates me when people make it sound like hoyo is "protecting" us from pulling cryo units or something.
At this point they should just release triple banners. Genshin has too many 5 stars and at this point some characters won’t get a rerun because of how many there are.
I think the most convenient solution would be to simply have 3 banners in one patch instead of two. Then one banner wouldn't last for 20 days, but around 13 and we'd have 6 premium characters rerun in a single patch. This would be a great solution together with chronicled wishes, but I'm afraid it won't be enough long-term :/
That would be such a good solution, Especially since most people pull for their character on day 1 or 2 anyways. And people who are not sure or don't have enough primogems, would still have enough time to get the character
This is only a band-aid that wont work long term I am unsure of what they should do to solve this issue but having 70 banners rerun at the same time like other gachas is just not fun But this is the most common route gachas take,and HSR is slowly taking that aswell
Since Citlali seems to be cryo as well. Anyone thats wants her really needs pull on her banner even if means skipping Mavuika. As an Archon she will get a reun in a few patches, but Citlali could be waiting years given the way Hoyo treats Cryo characters.
Ik people always say " get the archon" but they rerun SO MUCH sooner than the cryo (as well as other) characters. you don't know when you will see them again so get them first and save for the archon rerun.
I like that hoyo is somewhat trying to fix this problem, as we saw with the mondstadt chronicled wish banner back in 4.5(?). I believe it didn’t go as well as they thought tho because none of those characters were really sought after. I have hope that they will eventually (might talk a whole other year lmao) solve this problem with a third banner or even birthday banners, because, in my opinion, that would bring them even more revenue consistently (same things with skins pleaseeeeee hoyo 😭)
I think they're waiting until they get cryo reactions reworked in some way. Changing the way melt works (maybe doing away with forward and reverse melt and just making them a single amplifying reaction to make it more reliable), making freeze an amplifying or transformative reaction to enemies that can't be frozen, reworking superconduct in some way possibly. There have been rumors that there are changes to many elemental reactions in the near future. Ayaka was the last cryo unit to be on a banner and that was 15 banners ago. I have a feeling Citlali will be a cryo support that enhances a specific cryo related action probably melt. If she is, I'd expect her to be added to the standard banner. It'd be a good way to entice players to roll on other cryo drivers like Ganyu or Ayaka.
I find that a stupid way to do things since it leaves certain characters in the dust for years , just like how how Dehya has been bad for two regions and only got good due to Natlan

I would use the new banner system hsr has were 3 characters can be on 1 banner. As well as having new characters release. In my opinion I think that’s the best option it makes it so characters get reruns faster.

Regardless from 6.0 to 6.5, I didn't EVEN have Raiden shogun too so why not just have shown respect for cryo characters on the way next banner? Every character should've be in the standard banner in the first place especially venti too, *sigh sadly* it's not fair for me and the players, hope hoyoverse do something crazier with the freaking banners.
Funny enough, I actually remember the last time I saw Ganyu and Sheneh. I actually started playing right before Shenhe banner, got her then the next banner was Ganyu and I got her as well
Its probably really the case that Hoyoverse saves the Cryo Characters for the Cryo Nation. But its really a shame that I bought Shenhe's Skin almost a year ago on offer and I don't even have the opportunity to pull her. on her last rerun I had to skip her because I didn't has a Cryo DPS yet to be able to use her at all (now i have Rizzly)
I'm on the same boat as you. I bought Shenhe's skin cos I couldn't resist as she's too pretty. Been waiting for her since last year's Lantern Rite. It's ridiculous that we've been waiting since then. Her skin is collecting dust :'(

Why wouldn't the people who want these characters have them already? I skipped them once (or many times in Zhongli's case) and I'll skip them again. And if you're gonna say because they're new players, you shouldn't be able to have every character you want for free anyway. Instead, you should be glad if you like multiple options.

I think they chose to rerun lyney bc him and chasca promote an opposite teambuilding style while both being charged attackers(Lyney in mono pyro and chasca in rainbow). It's a pretty cool idea bc it looks like a playstyle centric banner even if it's just gonna be a skip for most people. Also the weapon banner 5 stars with those two looks rlly good for ganyu(even if she isn't real).
If neuvillette is really on the second half of 5.2 then it's just bait 😂😅. They want you to drain all your primos on him so you're forced to spend on the Pyro Archon who just so happens to be in the following patch. They know exactly what they're doing...
Cryo itself is always associated with Crit so my theory is Cryo's rework is in development and its going to lead to Cryo being The DPS Element I mean just look at xilonen C2 and Cryo artefact set focusing on buffing Crit, Cryo's rework will probably just inflate the Crit Dmg/Crit Rate of the Cryo Dmg Overall making it just absurd like Ganyu on release.. I dont see them changing its reactions mainly cause we all know Hoyo Devs are somewhat "lazy" or "Out of Touch" to put it lightly. They MAYBE emphasis on MAYBE might adjust superconduct and freeeze in some way but it's hard to say... Freeze being so lame Late game and just not working in alot of places makes Shatter non existent tho like that reaction is legit so fcked with freeze being wonky
Hoyo has adjusted things like reactions and elemental resonance. They just drag their feet getting around to it. They tend to fold when a character relevant to the underperforming reaction is released, such as Ororon with electro charged.
I also want Shenhe to run again so I can get her the rest of the way to C6, but cryo's strength is super underrated. I just cleared the latest abyss with Ganyu/Shenhe/Rosaria/Xilonen in about 30 seconds per chamber first half.
@dragondevil69 I don't need any elements besides cryo because Shenhe is the element of cryo. Also, Shenhe's icy quills are still a bit better than Xilonen's excellent C4 because it's much easier to have every character use all the stacks.

i think they focused too hard on trying to not make ganyu as op as possible with pyro applicators for melt that it just ruined the skill ceiling of every future cryo character to come out
So here's my little prediction and maybe I'm right..? Idk. It depends on the events planned for 5.3. 1st Banner Prediction for 5.3: - Mavuika/Xianyun | Citlali/Shenhe - Chronicled Wish featuring Ganyu, Childe, Xiao, Qiqi, Keqing, and maybe Tighnari or Dehya, OR they could do Yelan (low %) TLDR: banners are heavily dependent on events in this case. It's hard to tell b/c of when 5.3 and 5.4 are releasing. - General Reasoning: 5.3 is releasing globally on Jan 1st 2025, and if we look at past release dates around this time, this is where Lantern Rite is. Take for example: 2.4 released on Jan 6, 2022 and 3.4 released on Jan 14, 2022. BUT there are patches like 4.4 which released on Feb 1st and still featured lantern rite. Hell, even the first ever Lantern Rite Patch, 1.3, was released on Feb 3 of 2021. If nothing happens, 5.4 is to be released on Feb 12, 2025. So what I'm trying to say is, we can't know until 5.3 beta where we get leaks on the events which can give us clues. - Main Banner placement: It's like this because, archon release patch, archon goes first duh. If they wanna make sales on Citlali then they gotta put her on the second half instead of running her w/ archon. If 5.3 is lantern rite then Xianyun rerun. Citlali is also cryo so high chance of Shenhe as a "buffer" for Citlali (assuming they can work together) if 5.3 is Lantern Rite. - Chronicled Wish Banner placement: If 5.3 is Lantern Rite, and it features a Chronicled Wish, then of course it will have old Liyue Cast 5* + Liyue standard 5*. Tighnari, Dehya, and Yelan are only included as part of the prediction if they feel like they need to have 6 characters on the banner which might not be the case. Yelan, of course, has a very low chance of being here seeing as she's still quite the profitable character. Okay? What if 5.3 ISN'T Lantern Rite? Then what? - lowkey idk man. it's hard to say. If they really save the cryo 5*s for 6.0 then Idk how they're gonna release the cryo archon and have her buff everyone along with cryo while not powercreeping every single cryo character. i think they rerun the charcters that sell. the cryo characters are being called useless by every content creator out there and they know if a cryo banner is not gonna bring a lot of money.

They are all characters with bad sales figures you would either make them more rare to make people actually want them or you would put them on filler patches as someone who has ganyu with her R1 and shenhe i never really used them ever
Same i have Ayaka with her R1 and Shenhe R1 and i've never played them even once in abyss since i got them back in 3.5. Cryo is just so damn bad these days.

nobody is pulling on them that's why. They are as popular as kaveh. They wonder why they don't show but once they do people don't care to pull. The characters and even the element cryo are just too outdated. They don't work with the current cast

Disagree- when Kaveh came back, a LOT of people were pulling. Even those who didn't even want the 5-stars. I've seen people who dumped everything just to C6 him because they feared he wasn't coming back anytime soon. And did Ganyu/Shenhe really not perform well? I haven't seen them included when the topic of poor banner revenue comes up. Now Cryo being outdated? That may be the actual reason. The element needs to be reworked and maybe they're holding off on Cryo banners until they do somwthing...

i think they focused too hard on trying to not make ganyu as op as possible with pyro applicators for melt that it just ruined the skill ceiling of every future cryo character to come out
So here's my little prediction and maybe I'm right..? Idk. It depends on the events planned for 5.3.
1st Banner Prediction for 5.3:
- Mavuika/Xianyun | Citlali/Shenhe
- Chronicled Wish featuring Ganyu, Childe, Xiao, Qiqi, Keqing, and maybe Tighnari or Dehya, OR they could do Yelan (low %)
TLDR: banners are heavily dependent on events in this case. It's hard to tell b/c of when 5.3 and 5.4 are releasing.
- General Reasoning:
5.3 is releasing globally on Jan 1st 2025, and if we look at past release dates around this time, this is where Lantern Rite is. Take for example: 2.4 released on Jan 6, 2022 and 3.4 released on Jan 14, 2022. BUT there are patches like 4.4 which released on Feb 1st and still featured lantern rite. Hell, even the first ever Lantern Rite Patch, 1.3, was released on Feb 3 of 2021. If nothing happens, 5.4 is to be released on Feb 12, 2025. So what I'm trying to say is, we can't know until 5.3 beta where we get leaks on the events which can give us clues.
- Main Banner placement:
It's like this because, archon release patch, archon goes first duh. If they wanna make sales on Citlali then they gotta put her on the second half instead of running her w/ archon. If 5.3 is lantern rite then Xianyun rerun. Citlali is also cryo so high chance of Shenhe as a "buffer" for Citlali (assuming they can work together) if 5.3 is Lantern Rite.
- Chronicled Wish Banner placement:
If 5.3 is Lantern Rite, and it features a Chronicled Wish, then of course it will have old Liyue Cast 5* + Liyue standard 5*. Tighnari, Dehya, and Yelan are only included as part of the prediction if they feel like they need to have 6 characters on the banner which might not be the case. Yelan, of course, has a very low chance of being here seeing as she's still quite the profitable character.
Okay? What if 5.3 ISN'T Lantern Rite? Then what?
- lowkey idk man. it's hard to say. If they really save the cryo 5*s for 6.0 then Idk how they're gonna release the cryo archon and have her buff everyone along with cryo while not powercreeping every single cryo character.

i think they rerun the charcters that sell. the cryo characters are being called useless by every content creator out there and they know if a cryo banner is not gonna bring a lot of money.
The only reason Cryo is "useless" - which I don't think it is - is because HoYo *made* it so through Abyss enemy lineup and no reaction with Dendro.

@@alpha4935 yep, exactly 💯 and now they're just not "profitable" anymore, that's why they don't get their banners. I don't think the game creators care about having frequent reruns, just profitable reruns
Hopefully they'll be a artifact set that will synergise well with Shenhe as any new Cyro buffer will make her pointless ( unless you've C6'd her )
They are all characters with bad sales figures you would either make them more rare to make people actually want them or you would put them on filler patches as someone who has ganyu with her R1 and shenhe i never really used them ever
Same i have Ayaka with her R1 and Shenhe R1 and i've never played them even once in abyss since i got them back in 3.5. Cryo is just so damn bad these days.
@@matthewsarson6934 i skipped ayaka twice because i got to use her on my friend's account and the awkward dash in combat was a deal breaker along with how much she relay on her burst that could just miss sometimes if the enemy was mobile made her a pain to use against 90% of bosses
nobody is pulling on them that's why. They are as popular as kaveh. They wonder why they don't show but once they do people don't care to pull. The characters and even the element cryo are just too outdated. They don't work with the current cast

Disagree- when Kaveh came back, a LOT of people were pulling. Even those who didn't even want the 5-stars. I've seen people who dumped everything just to C6 him because they feared he wasn't coming back anytime soon.
And did Ganyu/Shenhe really not perform well? I haven't seen them included when the topic of poor banner revenue comes up.
Now Cryo being outdated? That may be the actual reason. The element needs to be reworked and maybe they're holding off on Cryo banners until they do somwthing...
Too outdated? I still use my crowned Ganyu with her Amos and she works just fine in her teams. Only people who keeps following "The meta" thinks like you.
