I’m a female player with 4 teams I use, and 3/4 have a guy as main dps. Idk why they’re doing weird stuff now, I like variety.

Could have something to do with censorship, like how some Cdrama actors got in trouble because a fan made a fanart shipping them together. Lets face it, we love shipping characters and that could be causing hoyo some problems I guess. If not that then the only thing I can think of is that they're trying to appeal to thirsty lonely teengers.

I'm losing interest in Genshin nowdays... The new content secondary quests in Natlan are boring, the gameplay of the new characters are no that fun (especially anything to do with flying), I miss old character (especially Albedo), at least the next patch has an event in Liyue so that might motivate me. AND WHERE ARE THE SKINS FOR THE TALL GUYS?!

Hoyo stupidly proves to themselves that players don't want male characters by releasing not much useful male 4* and very strong female 5*. When players favor those strong famale 5*(like Xilonen, Mavuika, Arle, Furina) Hoyo thinks that players want more females instead of weak Sethos, Ororon and yet to be released, but probably weak, Ifa. Sick logic

I’m a female player and I pull mostly for female characters however I feel like female characters have always had more spotlight than male characters. This is an awful move for hoyo…(I only pull females because Genshin’s models for the males look a bit off to me)

Im a woman and that's true Im more going for mâle than female but not because they are mâle. Im choosing character if I like the personnality the design and of course the gameplay. So I am still picking girls if I like them like Nahida ❤️ Other thing I dont like about genshin is why so many little girls (Sayu, Klee..) but no little boys ? We can create some cute and original characters so why ? And yes like a lot of people I'm waiting for Capitano !!!

To think "Men play this, they want female characters" is a dumb thought process. If that were the case then I suppose Halo, Devil May Cry, and Call of Duty were all only targeted at the female audience.

The only female 5* between Nahida and Navia was freaking Dehya. This period also had tons of yaoibaiting (Kaveh, Alhaitham, Cyno, Tighnari) and creepy shotacon designs (Lyney, Freminet). They are trying to court straight male fanbase once more.

thank you for speaking up!!! its hard talking about this without harem players getting mad and telling to play other games of you want more males! its ridiculous! i want tall muscular males but even getting men is hard. and when they did its mostly short male, they're going to be mid and they wonder why no one pull. While they keep making various height fem characters (lolis, short , tall mommy type) to pull male players in. Its unfair.

Guys i have an idea! I've seen players and Hoyocreators doing this already and it might work if enough people start doing it. You just have to directly write to Hoyo and ask them to make more male characters through the "feedback" section in the games menu. The more people do this, the more attention we get. Let's raise our voices

The fact that they’re not willing to make capitano playable is crazy to me. It’s just the cherry on top of the hatred towards men that developers at hoyoverse have💀. Cause there’s no way he wouldn’t have been profitable, there are SO MANY capitano fans that would’ve loved to main him and would’ve spent money to c6 r5 him, but alas…🫡

That explains too why the designs are getting more and more like they were characters meant for ZZZ or Star Rail. ZZZ is already almost unplayable to me for the T&A pandering. I was already mad that many of the Natlan char designs don't suit Teyvat; this just adds more to that same irriation.

Dude I'm a girl wanting to main wriothesley since I started but missed him so I've been waiting for him since his rerun but now I'm maining neuvillette while I wait but my whole team is ladies (furina, xiolen and jean) so idk why do this I love male characters but the females are also amazing so I wish there was a balance

Anyways.. am f2p as well, hoyo doesn´t care abt these kind of players (we don´t spend anything on the game, only hard work, tears & sweat). To any players who are waiting for male characters to be released: DON´T PULL FOR FEMALE, unless u really need them (my 1st Natland character was Chasca, I pulled for Ororon as soon as he came out, I SPENT 60 PULLS and nothing, btw I got c1 chasca)

Mic sounds fine and also, I'm not gonna lie, I feel like it's easier to sexualize female characters more than males. I mean, if they made a skin with Alhaitham's chest peaking out a little bit, sure we in the west would absolutely eat it up... but Ganyu with a shorter skirt? Absolutely, 100%, om nom, goat, +mommy. And not to mention that Aesthetic is the canonical main character, so if they have Wanderer, for example, crushing on the MC, it would look gay for some players (which I'm not sure if it's socially acceptable or not in East Asia yet-)

there is currently still hope that Capitano will be released during 5./. We have more information about playstyle and weapon and so on about him then about Iansan. Though this can change but as far as leaks say, Iansan wont play a significant role in the next archon quest. But Capitano will. And of the teasered characters Iansan is the only one we really know something about. It only makes sense she will be the first one of them to have a banner. It pretty much depends on the drip marketing we will get Monday (as far as i know) because its either Iansan or Capitano. They both have the highest chance of being released next. Prayjng it will be Capitano

Genshin player base gender ratio used to be fairly balanced for a gacha and I'm convinced without the appeal to both genders (which is also reflected in female designs overall not being sexualized in a way the game becomes unappealing to female players) it would never have become as popular as it is. I'm pretty sure most heavy spenders must be male though so Mihoyo must now be prioritizing stabilizing revenue from that playerbase over popularity.

Some women catch my attention but since my favourite of them is literally called "Father" I think I know where my interests lie. Edit: Also, the mic sounds fine, like any other youtuber's.

As a genshin player, I feel bored with the lack of male characters. Not that I hate female characters, but if I wanted to have only female characters I would be playing Honkai Impact instead of Genshin

Because their target audience is majority male, right?, i don't see this weird since majority male want to groom their character, so what can be a perfect character to groom unless it's a female character, right? For me, I'm rather stick with the traditional female characters who doesn't display their sexualize asset in display 24-7 you know.

I'm kind of bored by all the female characters. They are way too sexualised and having mostly females is just too boring for me. I like female characters too, but I miss the men. Natlan for me is also boring. I don't have fun exploring it at all... Guess the character situation has something to do with it. I don't play daily anymore... It's just not as much fun.

The absolute gull of youtubers: to release a 5 min video on a complex topic, give no compelling reasons for either side of the argument, keep saying „i dont know why” throughout the runtime, and then put (explained) in the title. I don't have empirical evidence but i think it's because makes tend to go for quantity (horizontal investment) while females would rather c6 a certain character they like (vertical investment). So they'll release less males so the girlies can get their husbandos to c6 while the males get more new female characters

Something I noticed: how well a game treats its male characters pretty often telegraphs how well a game will treat its female characters. And that goes beyond games. Typically, most one-gender fiction tend to be average or below in terms of quality because they focus on fanservice over quality. Genshin's quality has been dropping like crazy over the last the few months, making it seem like a generic ripoff of itself rather than an actual new region. And that goes for the top selling gacha currently, the male-only Love and Deep Space, for how pretty it looks, it has a lot of horrible gameplay aspects that will probably never get fixed because they just focus on the fanservice aspect.

Has anyone else noticed that Capitano has scales ALL over his clothes? Has anyone noticed the dragon-like claws he has? And the BIG freaking star on his mask that looks like a snow flake? The cryo sword? The fact that the OFFICIAL fight scene on Genshins official channel is labeled as "Clash of frost and flames" ??? I think Capitano is the cryo dragon! There... I said it!!! So, we'll just have to wait a few more days to find out more
