I like how his theme is basically pinning him as the mysterious yet nondescript fellow who turns out to be the deadliest gun in the West, kind of like how he was revealed in Scarlet and Violet.
It was basically his event in a nutshell. Everyone else was underwhelmed by him yet he kept getting picked for special jobs by his boss. Kabu notices what no one else does about Larry and it’s something Larry knows but doesn’t acknowledge: Larry is the best at what he does Larry gets so much work put on him because he’s so good at it. Larry doesn’t phone anything in but he also doesn’t really try, his skill as a trainer is effortless. He’s a goal oriented man and does what he’s told and nothing more, he does what he needs to quickly because he’d rather do anything else. Larry sees a friend getting robbed and rather than panic or get upset he just adjusts his tie and says “let’s get this over with” Kabu notices that Larry is extremely talented, and Larry has never once felt the need to improve. He respects Larry’s work ethic, his skills as a trainer and bond over enjoying the simple life.

I'm a little disappointed they didn't somehow mix in the brass from the Gym Leader music, since this is the _one_ chance they get to mix the Gym Leader and E4 music... but that harmonica _does_ sound excellent!
Wouldn’t have expected Larry to get the obligatory E4 guitar remix, much less so western sounding, but he lives in Medali in the West Province after all, and this just helps his normalcy stand out even more. Overworked average Joe business man gets the yeehaw giddy up cowboy theme😂
The guitar drift does make it sound Hawaiian, eh? I wonder if this implicitly confirms Larry's Asian-ish heritage? It's probably meant to be just Blues, though. Or old school heavy metal bit... 😅
Now that I think about it, while the intention is the same, to me Larry's battle intro pose in SV goes from "tired overworked man" as the gym leader, to "oh fuck this guy's about to gut me like a fish" in the elite four

As someone who is not pulling for Boothill but is okay with him: I KNOW, RIGHT?! We're on the same page. You can use this battle theme as a ritual music when pulling for the awesome Galaxy Ranger especially when usung him on battles. IT'S A FORKIN' BANGER!!!
Man, i wish they did this with all of the themes. Rika being South, Poppy being East, Larry being West, and Hassel being North. Their Aces seem to call those regions home

They wouldn’t make an alt only to give him gloves. That would probably be a variety scout. Also he says in game that he prefers normal types to flying types.
