Watch This if You Want to get mud on a truck!! Mud, ruts, and guts in a 2019 Chevy Silverado truck Chevrolet tough in Alpine Refuge Air Ranch Idaho
How Good Is The New 2019 Chevy Silverado Z71 Trail Boss OffRoad?
In this video, you'll see a driver go over some cut wood, down a hill and then up a hill. I'm not sure who the driver is, but they were going a little slow, so they cut a trough in the dirt. Fortunately, they came back down and went a little faster, and off they went. They walked over the rocks like a pro and went through the mud like a WWE wrestler at Gilley's in Las Vegas.
available equipment introduced on the 2019 Silverado includes:
Z71 Off-road Equipment Package is now available on all models (and standard on Trail Boss models, which also feature a factory-installed 2-inch lifted suspension, Rancho™ monotube shocks and Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac all-terrain tires). The Z71 package includes:
Off-road tuned Rancho™ twin-tube shocks.
Electronic hill descent control.
Two-speed transfer case and automatic locking rear differential.
Skid plates for engine oil pan and transfer-case protection.
Heavy-duty air filter.
18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires.
Dual exhaust outlets for models equipped with V-8 engines.
Advanced, active-safety features, including:
Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert*.
Front and Rear Park Assist*.
Rear Cross Traffic Alert*.
Forward Collision Alert* and Following Distance Indicator*.
Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking*.
Front Pedestrian Braking*.
Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning*.
Safety Alert Seat*.
IntelliBeam headlamps, high-beam assist.
Advanced technology features, including:
GM-exclusive, 3 x 7-inch configurable color head-up display.
8-inch configurable driver information center.
Surround Vision*.
Rear Camera Mirror*
The next-gen Silverado is also larger than the outgoing model in virtually every dimension. For example, the Silverado crew cab, short box has 1.2 inches more total width, 1.5 inches more total height, 1.7 inches more total length and 3.9 inches more wheelbase.
As a result, the Silverado offers an additional 3 inches of cab length for all configurations, and up to 4 cubic feet more interior volume. It also offers the largest cargo volume of any full-size truck in short-bed, standard-bed and long-bed models. In fact, at 62.9 cubic feet, the Silverado short bed offers more cargo volume than the standard bed of the Ford F-150.
Despite the larger footprint, the Silverado is up to 450 pounds lighter than the outgoing truck (crew cab, short-bed models with the 5.3L V-8 and Max Towing Package), due to advanced manufacturing and the use of mixed materials.
The 2019 Silverado lineup also offers more choices than ever, including six engine/transmission combinations that give customers different combinations of performance, efficiency and value, as well as increased towing and payload capabilities:
Crew cab Silverado models increase in payload up to 14 percent, or 340 pounds.
The 4.3L V-6 now offer a maximum of 8,000 pounds towing, up 400 pounds (regular cab, rear-wheel-drive models).
The 5.3L V-8 with Max Towing Package now offers a maximum of 11,600 pounds towing, up 400 pounds (double-cab, rear-wheel-drive models).
For 2019, the 6.2L V-8 is now exclusively offered with four-wheel drive. Equipped with the Max Towing Package, it now delivers a maximum of 12,200 pounds towing, up 500 pounds from a similarly equipped 2018 model (double-cab, four-wheel-drive models).
The first engines to be produced will be the 5.3L V-8 equipped with an eight-speed automatic, and the 6.2L V-8 equipped with a 10-speed automatic. Both offer more than 5 percent improvement in city fuel economy, for an improvement of 1 mile per gallon based on EPA estimates.

Funny how people always want to hate!! Yet they are watching trail boss videos.. I love my 2020 trail boss .. I don’t hate dodge or Ford it’s just not my preference.. I also don’t watch videos of dodge or ford trucks just so I can bash them.. it’s our 60k we can spend it on what we like
good attitude
How the hell are they going to know whether or not they like what they see if they don’t watch the video
Are there any trailbosses with the nice looking headlights with 6 seats
Yup loving my 2021. Ain’t no hate here. The choices were close. I’d bet many of the haters don’t have anything
@Ed once you try 6 seats you can't go back. I had the pleasure of owning an '07 LBZ 6 seater crew cab long bed... it was a pleasure. Dura the Explura we called her
I hear Roman from TFL Truck yipyapping in the background.
Roman's a good guy. Works hard.
@@drivingthenation I like him, sub all his channels.
i second that love me some TFL @@drivingthenation
They where there at 0:18 you can see Roman and Tommy of TFL
@@j.a.vzlaib1170 They where were?
I love that TFL is doing their video in the background.
I just bought a 2024 Custom Trail Boss. I like its look and capabilities for off roading but I doubt I will ever have this truck off road or even over a snow covered street.
Whats nice about the trail boss trim, you can get it on the lower trim levels, which makes sense cause for fleets that do alot of logging roads or back country, having a factory lift, a locker and mud tires its a good combo.
I am buying one. Beats the shit out of chrome.
Chrome literally ruins the the truck
Waiting for the "i could do that in my Prius" comment.
Now I want to build a lifted off road Prius, damn I need more money
Dude I literally could do that in my Toyota Yaris
Didn't really see it do anything any average 4x4 couldn't do.
I agree. Some of it is the technique of the driver. The truck has electronic hill descent so the driver should have stepped on the gas a little before going up the hill.
Right little ass Obstacles
Phil Harris that was quite a mud hole.
@@TCX-up6hsyou must be talking about the 4.3 v6 double cab.
Good ole Roman and Tommy first on the scene!
Didn’t break anything on the first round, impressed
Hahaha
I have trail boss single cab 2019 model i am beating it till today no problem at all
I hear TFL guy in the back . Love their channel. Nice vid brother
Yes, that was one of the first comments - I hear Roman from TFL Truck yipyapping in the background. - the video is done by a woman.
It’s an awesome video , thank you for posting it driving the nation !
@@herminquijano nothing like a little mud and ruts on a car to have fun. Thanks!
Awesome quick off road test! More vehicle videos like this please! Try some AWD vehicles 😁 lol.
Thank you!
Only mistake they did it they should put a manual central lock and the rear dif flock to,
Agreed, even if they just put a front locker on it I think this would attract more people who are shopping the zr2, trd pro, and power wagon. It would show they are serious about making this truck off road worthy
This isn't a Land Rover. The transfer case is locked 50/50 F/R power output. Also there is a rear locker, although I'm with you the g80 is not the greatest.
Looks like a very promising truck
Absolute beast
Awesome 😀 😀 2019 Chevy Silverado Z71 trail boss off-road review .
Thanks
I subscribe to your RUclips channel.
TFL in the back 😎👍
They weren't driving either otherwise, the truck would have gone over the hill the first time.
DrivingTheNation damn right
@@drivingthenation fr the driver went too slow lol
Don't understand how they make "off road editions"and refuse to lift the truck substantially for better clearance.
Custom Trail Boss: adds off-road equipment to the Custom, including a 2-inch suspension lift installed at the factory and the Z71 Off Road Package, with a locking rear differential, skid plates, Rancho shocks, 18-inch wheels and Goodyear Duratrac off-road tires
MPG that’s why
Ford owners: Not Impressed 😂
Good looking truck! Just sad it won’t be offered with the 6.2L and a 6.5ft bed on the crew cab.. guess I’ll have to go with High Country or Danali with the Sierra!
Justin Reily what about with a 6.5ft bed on the crew cab??
I'm hoping they make it in a single cab long bed with a 6.0 that would be pissa
Taylor Albaugh The 6.5ft bed is offered with a crew cab I’m in process of getting one right now. Not many out there but they exist if you get a good salesman they’ll find you one.
You can get the crew cab, 6.5' bed with the 6.2l. Idk where you got your info bud but you are incorrect.
A Google User. The 6.2 is only offered in the Sierra for 2019 and will be on the TrailBoss for the 2020s from what 2 dealers told me. You can get a 6.2 in other packages just not the TrailBoss from I understand till 20.
That looks like alotta fun!
it was
I do not like how Chevy only 5 seater options for the LT Trail boss. I as someone who was looking for one sucks and it kind off forcing me to buy the ugly custom one. It sucks.
Love the new look on the silverado but to bad there's no 6.2l available for this model.
I got one?
J T didn’t notice the time stamp was from before the 6.2 was offered?
I’ve done all these courses with my 2018 ram 1500 harvest edition 4x4
excellent!
Before or after the transmission fell out? Lmfao 😂😂😂
@@paulcondie2520 lmao those 8spds are way better then Chevys 8spds that’s why there getting sued!💀😂
@@ramfamily4131 I just playing, 😂😂😂 to be honest they all got issues, just some more than others. I'm a true gearhead I love them all
Trail rating 2-3, only the hill of loose gravel makes it a 3.
Definitely looks like a kick-ass truck. But that particular course doesn't test its capabilities .my 2014 2500 HD single cab long bed could do all that in two wheel drive without spinning a tire. I would love to take that truck and put it to the real test put it anywhere in the state we live in the muddy mountains ain't no flat ground where I live.
you're absolutely right, that truck can do a lot more
Yeah my 2021 lt trail boss is currently stuck in mud so :)
It doesn’t look like he aired down that would hav helped a great deal
I'm glad they made the front bumper smaller because in my opinion the 2017 and 2018 model looked ridiculous and there wasn't much clearance
I have a all black 2018 and I have that chrome bumper I think I want change it
Why is he driving in the old ruts. Drive on the high side save your under carriage
Going to see about buying one this Saturday, can't wait, i just wish black wasn't such a pain to take care of.
What did you end up getting?
Was the tfl truck in the back ground
There is no such thing as a tfl truck. tfl was talking, recording at the same time I was recording. We all recorded the same truck.
@@drivingthenation that’s the NAME of one of their many many channels. “TFL TRUCK” lol
Muy bonita y todo, pero por ese terreno puede pasar hasta una Ford Ranger sin problemas 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What a nice nice looking truck😍
what do u get with the trail boss
www.drivingthenation.com/2019-chevrolet-silverado-1500-models-and-pricing/
I could do that in my Prius
Looks good outside
I dig!
Ill stick to my 99 xj. I dont get stuck on a little gravel hill like that. Have fun in the middle of nowhere when a sensor fucks off on you :)
As an xj, and a jk owner, have fun in the middle of nowhere when you transmission doesn’t want to engage, or your thermostat goes out after you just replaced it 6 months ago. 😂. Same issues on both of my jeeps I’ve had. I always tell buddies “if you buy a jeep you better be willing to turn a wrench”
@@CJ-zh2lo bud, I ran my Jeep without coolant for 6 months and the temp gauge never moved, never had a transmission issue either except when I had to swap the clutch. Never got stuck but towed a ton of people outta shit spots, lots of jks, wj's
Hardly had to engage 4x4
You just picked shit jeeps, gotta know what to look for pal 👍
Roman from the fast land truck lol and his son !!! In the background talking
yep, normally I would take the background out but I like Roman. Good guy.
DrivingTheNation he wasn’t the main focus of this video that’s why
4H ⬆️
They should have ran a Dodge an a Ford on that course also oh an Nissan an Toyota.
really good idea.
TFL getting them videos done
Thats kids stuff
It really was
laik
Mpg
the regular 1500 gets 20 city / 23 highway so expect less from the trail boss - somewhere around 15-20mpg
nothing i can’t do in my $2000 1978 chevy 4x4. new trucks are way over priced IMO
you have a 1978 vehicle and you think they are overpriced? amortize your vehicle over how much you paid for it new and how long it has lasted.
Splashing around in water don’t prove anything 👎
Tfl truck lol
poor black paint poor truck
do you own one?
I just bought a black one and being concerned about maintaining the paint I will likely get a pressure washer, foam cannon, and blow dryer, following up with a coating of F11Pro.
Looks kinda ugly,
