I have been here twice, I love it so much! The Christmas music/bells/horse hoofs played into the main bedroom took me to heaven for a few minutes. Nothing like it.

As a boy I lived on the corner of Folgate St. I knew Dennis Severs, he seemed very fascinated by myself, my younger Brother, and our two friends. Dennis used to call us his "Little Urchins" as not one of us had a pair of shoes between us, and would play around the fruit & flower market, and in the big NCP car park in our bare feet, yes, we were very poor but that's how it was then. I remember when Dennis purchased the house, and made all the renovations, with a big team of people, and I remember a large bearded man who seemed to be in charge of the house, and used to put the light on outside of it. Dennis would often stop to chat to us and he seemed a genuinely nice man.

I've been to the Dennis Severs house and it's my favourite attraction in London. I love the idea behind it and I love how each room seems to tell a story.

Without a doubt my favourite experience in London, would rec9mmed a visit to anyone who wants to feel like you've literally stepped back in time, especially the night visits. Cheers for uploading this.

I visited a number of times when Dennis was alive & gave a party there. Both Dennis was unique, as is the home which he made.

So he didn't live like a person cut off from the 20th Century, he just created a realistic set to experience former life styles. I read he didn't wear costumes, just his regular clothes, which i almost the reverse of a lot of 17th Century hobbyists. We have a lot of people who try to do reenactments as hobbies, he just took if further than most.
