So what's the deal with the loud music? You can hardly hear what Lucy has to say. Either do it right or don't do it at all.
Fantastic transformation .....for those interested....House bought for £190,000, £60,000 over guide price. They spent £37,000 to do the renovation..so total outlay was £227,000. Auctioneer valuation was a rental income of £1000 to £1100 per calendar month. If sold on the open market, the house would achieve somewhere between £260,000 to £270,000. But Colin reckons he could get £280,000.
Who edited that bolshy music over her voice?
Much improved for living. Kitchen is the only real thing that stands out as mismatch to the character of the house. This was a investment property and the remodel shows it. Remodel seems made for a general idea of what people want. Clean and spacious. Kitchen was just a let down, should have rounded off the counter tops to match the cabinet shape and gave it a elegant victorian touch.
Why do people buy Victorian houses and then make them look like Barratt homes?
Exactly my question
Because we aren't in the 1800s any more and it's part of modern living
Some of us like the character of old houses. Mine is modern but sympathetically done to reflect its age
Well done. It is nicely restored. Beautifully renovated. Thumbs up.
dont u guys check the videos before u upload them? the music is annoying and so much louder than the talking
That box room was a mistake, completely pointless. Should've kept it as one or like Lucy said an en suite.
I love watching these programs whilst sitting on the toilet, taking a large dump
I love these big Victorian houses I hope to have one one day :)
I hate when people destroy these characterful Victorian homes with their tacky laminate flooring, white walls and glossy cabinets. “Let’s make the whole downstairs one large room”
they do that because that's what sells..........that's what people want. Just because you wouldn't want that isn't cause to complain and pick holes.
I quite like it
M M12345 I agree - it’s one thing to restore and bring back to former glory ; another to strip away all character and charm for blah renovations. Thank God for historic preservation societies. If people want a “modern” look get a modern/ contemporary home or new construction
I understand what you say they should keep as many features as possible but when these horses were built, people were happy to just have a house, i think because of how small British homes are we deserve to maximise the space we are given because my god our houses are small
@@mlh4711 They do that because thats what they thing sells No door to the kitchen etc just stupid.
It looks the house The Young Ones was filmed in.
I wonder if I will ever live to see the day when it is no longer fashionable to have a bald back garden.
Can't hear a thing over that music🤦♀️
It’s not scary it’s exciting.
How do people let their houses get into such a bad condition.
The music editors name on the show was called Jennifer Tampon
@@austinraftery9304 Wrong comment.
3:30 - Please help a Yank - did he say, "...and to escape, because I'm a pinch in the nail loosey?"
"Because I'm a pensioner now Lucy"
I find it odd an American watching homes under the hammer 😂 focus on your houses in the states they're so much nicer haha
Check the bricks...it looks like there is a lot of tuckpointed needed-VERY expensive!
Cool nice 👍 🙏👼🍀
music is wayyyy too loud- cannot hear what you are saying..
Are those Himalayan blackberries???
So how much was it worth ?
Dunno
I'm pretty certain this was where Mr Bean lived!
What a disappointing makeover. The modern basic interior is a complete mismatch to the charming architecture of the period. Shame.
I think it looks good and well done. Have no idea why you think it's disappointing
Sarah A AGREED!
Too much music it’s not party
Music FAR too loud!! Noticed there is basement under the house, funny this wasn't mentioned,?
Madness to have painted over the original stone work with paint! The rest is not very good either...
Yes, they destroyed the period look and turned in into something of bad taste.
Walk in the door and immediately start talking about ripping down walls. The redo looks cheap and bland.
This was 2013. The finish was appropriate for the time
Cheap???? Looks well done and definitely does NOT look cheap. And bland at start but needs to have furniture.
I agree. Victorian house turned Barratt home.
Whoever edited this, we could do without the stupid loud music, it drowns out what Lucy was saying, I didn't hear a word of it. At least check what you are doing before you inflict it onto other people
Totally ruined the character didgraceful
How did they get rid of the character? They did keep the fireplaces and the original 1890s doors
