      thanks, I just cant get the hype around PB. They play with that horribly sounding plastic ball which induces zero skills, one can just play this version of tennis in a smaller court with arguably better strokes and a nicer sound experience.@@touchtennis

      @@iceman1125 yeah when I started this in my garden it was 2002. 56k modem so internet wasn’t really a thing. Had never heard of pickleball! I just loved tennis and wanted a street version like the old Agassi Sampras advert from Times Square!

    The Pickleball players are taking over our courts here in the US , but this game looks like a respectable version of Tennis that I'd enjoy trying.... glad to see my new Coach (well online only sadly) kick butt!!!!

      Thanks for watching! Yes, 21inch rackets and the ball is called a touchtennis ball (you can buy them online)

    I live in the US and wish touch tennis was spreading in popularity instead of pickleball. It seems as though this sport is strictly played in the Uk?

    Wow just discovered this sport. As Im a massive tennis fan, I love playing with tennis foam balls.Use to do this here in our street sometimes against wall. This sport is so cool! Here in Germany almost nobody knows it. But you can use a regular tennis racket? Small regular tennis racket?

      Hey Tim, it’s great fun! You can use any 21inch racket but the key is using the official touchtennis ball (this is what makes the rallies look and feel like tennis. Normal foam balls travel too slowly and don’t really react to spins.

    This is great, with the boom in pickleball do you think touch tennis has a chance to grow in a similar manner?

      My humble guess is "no". Too much movement and technique required in touch tennis compared to pickleball and so not so much fun for a non tennis player / average person to play from scratch.

      @@YesSirPhil As a tennis coach I assumed so. I would say a majority of high level tennis players enjoy trying versions of “mini tennis” because the skills transfer so well.

    Great video! Ashley, please can you do a video on grips, strings and stringing for touch tennis? I have a couple of 21" rackets, and they don't have wider grommets in the right place for 2 piece stringing. Thanks mate!

    Do you competitive Touchtennis guys put poly strings on your racquets?, are all 21 inch racquets good or are some better than others?

      Personally, I just use factory strings, however some of the players are more fussy… @rashidahmad69 is the best man to ask for advice!

      I use natural gut in the mains. Standard strings are good for most players. The G.O.A.T racquets all come incredibly well strung out of the factory.

      No, they're Junior 21" Tennis rackets, you can use any brand and model you want, as long as it's no longer than 21"

      The ball is specific to touchtennis and is what makes it great. It’s a foam ball that’s more dense and heavy than normal foam balls, allowing you to hit pretty hard, rip topspin, slice, kick serves etc.
