FYI - You CAN use other concentrate in this machine, just be VERY careful not to overdo it or it will 'foam' too much. We use 'Mr. Clean antibacterial' and it does a terrific job with a 1 year old crawling around and getting into everything. Again, be very frugal with the amount of concentrate you use to minimize the foaming or it will constantly trigger the 'dirty tank full' light.
Do you ever use just hot water ?
We've had this for about 1 month and so far LOVE IT. We have 2 VERY hairy dogs and I used to have to vacuum and then hit it up with a swiffer wet pad. I was going through 2-3 swiffer pads to clean our entire first floor and it still didn't 'feel' clean - it was ridiculous. The swiffer also left nasty streaks and made our laminate floors look like a mess. This Shark Hyrdovac machine makes vacuuming and mopping SUPER easy. My only complaint is our kitchen floor is tiled and it often misses spots, so it takes a little longer to go over the same spot 2-3 times before moving on. The self-cleaning feature is SUPER easy (just make sure you do NOT use too much cleaner or it will foam too much and say the dirty tank is full every 30 seconds) I usually have to take it apart after every use because of the excessive amount of dog hair it picked up. That also is SUPER easy and literally takes less than 5 minutes to rinse out the roller cover and dirty tank components - plastic retainer and filter. I sure hope this machine lasts because it definitely doesn't have an easy job in our house with animals!

The rug button can also be used as a "boost" to put down more solution for stubborn messes.
Ah, thanks...I haven't tried the rug feature yet (we only have 1 area rug I haven't cleaned yet) This may help on our tiled kitchen floor where it often completely misses around the 'grooves'

Hi, I own one of these. The first time I use this I found the dry dirt stays dry, and tank filled with dirty water in it. Few days later I figured out the whole tank is wet after cleaning. Is this normal? Please reply soon. I am about to return mine. I like the machine a lot otherwise.

Can you only put hot water in the tanks instead of disinfectant and cleaners. I'm only cleaning laminate floors and don't need the disinfectants.
I would probably just go for their steam mop that scrubs and rotates. Uses only water. I love mine!

Can you use this item with plain water-after cleaning with the branded cleaning solutions? Alternately, can you mix your own cleaning solution? Not just to save money; the scents and residual presence of commercial solutions are not well tolerated by some folks/kids/pets. No hard feelings, just enquiring. TY.
