I have a bunch of recipes I got from friends and family and I didn't write on them as to who gave them to me, so I put a blurb of thank you at the front of the book, to thank anyone who may see a recipe in my book that they gave me. Like they say, hindsight is 20/20.
Yes and yes! Sometimes that's a great way to test the market with less investment in formatting and production. Just make sure it's Kindle-friendly, meaning that you don't upload to Kindle as PDF. Using Kindle Create can help you see how it will look on different types of devices prior to publishing. Thanks for watching and good luck with your cookbook adventures!
Unfortunately, I don't have a video on publishing for friends. I'm guessing your concern is that you want a nice presentation for your cookbook that isn't just off your own printer. You might want to look at groups like Shutterfly who can help you put together a hardcover book (using custom pages options obviously). Also, make sure you put somewhere in the book that your recipes and book are copyrighted by you (even if you don't register for a copyright). Sure, they're friends. But it's an alert to them that they shouldn't be sharing your recipes and writing without your permission. Good luck with your cookbook!
