I just mentioned on an old video that your videos are much better now, but this is several steps up. Now you’re really on the right track man. I know you’ll be limited when winter sets in but this is the right format. Up and down the driveway is so 2005. It’s better than nothing but this is the right approach. I wanted to say it in a different way, but I’ll be polite.
Ok I owned one of these great bikes in 1980-had a 78-you do not do this justice shifting at 5000 to demonstrate-these bikes shift ed great at 8000 all day-cruise at 5000-6000 all day-and yes you can counter steer the thing and get around corners better than you imagine
When Honda unveiled the CB750 sohc, Kawasaki had been on the verge of showing their Z1 - but as a 750 - it sent them back to the drawing board, for a few years.
The 75 Super Sport had less rake not more and that would make it respond more intuitively in the twistys. Ride a K model and then a SS model back to back and it's very obvious what this does to handling. That being said Japanese bikes weren't noted for there handling and the SS had a slightly uneasy handling quirk that could be fixed by high quality aftermarket rear shocks. Once done you could grind the contact balls under the footpegs on sweepers with confidence. Also the 75 anyway also had 1 tooth less on the primary sprocket which effectively geared it down to achieve faster acceleration. Kerker aftermarket muffler got rid of the heavy bazooka looking stock one and had great upper end power at he expense of your hearing. With K&N's and that pipe you needed to go way up on the main jets and that really woke things up. Jardine 4 into 2's had torquier midrange a sweet sound a deep chrome and looked classy with it's turn outs ( that was my favorite). My first fast bike then and I went on to many others with my last being a 2300cc Rocket 3
Honda was probably the most reliable bike for its day. Later I fitted a supercharger to mine and it held up . The supercharger wasn't reliable so it came out later. When it ran though the bike would scare you a bit. Brother had a 900 Kaw and it would smoke that.@@Spartansrule118
Beautiful bike but for me spoiled by the discoloured downpipes which is a pet hate 6:12 of mine. Usually that generation of Honda didn't didcolour their downpipes.
The F2 has its followers, but fragile, the earlier F and F1 may be a little less powerful but they last considerably longer. Although there is no reason why you cant swap the ealier silver engine into an F2.
I'd like my fellow Honda lovers opinions? I'm 160 lbs. I have a Honda 250 dual sport. Trails and side streets it's fine, but I want a bike to take to work or on highway. Is this cb750 bike too much to handle compared to my 250? I was going to buy a 400-650cc Honda but I see lots of 750's for sale. Thanks.
Cb500 is on the table as well. There's a scrambler version now but also naked versions and sport bike versions. I found mine for about a quarter of its original price with only 4000 miles, super undervalued in the US.
@@domenik8339 Thanks for the reply. I ended up buying a 750 Nighthawk. Cold in MN so I'll be riding it in spring and see how it goes. If too big then I'll check a smaller cc.
Because it's an almigmation of parts that don't belong together. Hence the grind shift sound at 6:23. I don't know why every backwoods mechanic with a wrench thinks he can build a bike better than Honda can, they only make the best godd*mn bikes on the planet!
@@galwaytribesman9289 You can say that again! I grew up riding a Honda 4 stroke dirt bikes, didn't do a bit of maintenance on it from the time I was 10 till 18, not a single problem. Starts on the first kick to this day. Back then my buddies KTM spent more time in the garage than on the dirt, ever since then I was clued in to just how good I had it with Honda.
'78 was the best year, more power and the Comstars really look good. Yours looks killer! One of the best looking Honda's ever.
The bike speaks for itself Kenny absolutely phenomenal.
Had one in high school loved it
That pipe sounds amazing! It reminds me of when I was 16, back in 1981, when I saved up my money and bought a Kirker exhaust system for my old KZ 550
Sounds fantastic. And what an important time period for motorcycle history.
ya man the sound of that exhaust sure brings back memories :)
Bought a brand new one back in '78 here in the UK, man ! wish I still had it now.
Lobby your councilman to pave those streets!
I have owned six different Honda fours and not one of them ever let me down. Got to love Honda!
I've had a 75 F since 79. She's 915cc now and has a Tracy Designed body, But still my girl!!!!
Buying one of these Sunday. Can't wait

750 f got black engine no ?
A+ Boss. Like !
Had one when I was in college. What does something like this go for today?
depends on the condition and miles but I've seen a few in my area in decent condition with lower (10-20k mi) for like $2k.

I'm about your size and went from a 250 suzuki up to a 750 honda shadow, then to a 900 HD. the 750 was ideal
