Finally a rider who uses the gears rather then lugging and shuddering. I’ve got a mix of 2 and 4 stokes from 125 to 400 and they all have different characteristics.
I've been following every new motorcycle since the dawn of time. the Himalayan 2023, is one of the best looking dual sport motorcycles of the last 40 years. It is what all the other big name bikes should look like, had they not tried to force a new redesign. Plain is beautiful, and everyone knows that. The Himalayan has a 1990's aesthestic, and the bikes from the late 1990's were the best looking motorcycles in history.
Great video, very informative. Also, the cable was easy to ignore after a couple of seconds. I was in Royal Enfield/ Indian Ballarat on the same day to check out the Enfields. I remember seeing a bloke with an epic beard who was on a mission.
It’s a 450 single your going to get vibration you will never get rid of it I think just some thing you just got to accept on the bike ,besides that bang for buck it’s good it dose what it says on the tin ,
There is a lot of Singles on the market which manages vibrations. There are vibrations you can live with and there are vibrations which are hurting your feet and hands. When I heard in video review that buying better boots will help me manage vibes then no. It’s not an acceptable vibrations level. In my point of view anyway.
Thanks for a clear and comprehensive review. Why would R.E. have opted for such a short stand? Is there a reason behind it? Advantages? I watched a review recently in which the reviewer , who was shorter than you, could not get the bike up and off the stand. He was stuck in the car park watching his allotted test time tick away . He went ahead and posted the video anyway, I guess as a cautionary tale.
I think it’s because of the centre stand. It’s really not that hard to pick up off the side stand. I went and sat on one in a showroom and lifted it off the stand easily
The cable was not too bad, great review, not the first to notice the weight and the peg vibrations. Not a bike on my radar, good to get your initial opinion though.
I haven't ridden one of these yet. I did ride the 411 (previous model) and didn't like it at all. This new model is an entirely new machine though. From watching videos like this it seems a big step forward for RE.
I can't remember the last video I have made that I didn't screw up somewhere or the equipment malfunctioned. This model certainly has a better appearance the old model but I think I'd prefer the older model. If I'm going modern then the Triumph 400 X appeals to me a little more. Your review was a good one. 👍👍
I have owned the NC 750, I have ridden it all over the interstate, including form Johnson City Tennessee to Chicago. Left my balls numb. For three days. The battery died in the middle of a cornfield on the way back. Rode it along I40 to Knoxville, Nashville, Oklahoma City. Finally sold it to get a Goldwing. Only a numb nuts would compare the Himi- completely different rider triangle and suspension and wheel geometry and gearing and fueling - to an NC. Also, what do you not get, “New Concept”, the NC is an urban, fronk equipped commuter. Dumbness.
Keen on actual overtaking footage of the shotgun, meteor on our rural roads. Just really don't like having to pick the gap so carefully or like hanging out in opposite lane taking caravan's and such. I know your chief can do it comfortably....
It’s not got a full frame the engine is part of the frame ,you also need extra lights on the front as the headlight is basic, people like joe Ryan rode the 411 round Aust tasy newzeland so this bike will do the same
RE make bikes, and the reviewer makes reviews. The simple job of making an error free video beyond them, they take a crap all over an awesome platform. Why? Because it isn’t the other bike they like. What goobers we meet on the internet.
Nice bike and great review with character. This is far better than some nutter waving their hand around talking and lane splitting without gloves at supersonic speeds.
@@blkvtr1k I guess you have experience of riding both bikes. What makes the CF Moto the better bike? I'm looking at both of these so keen on all views.

Good review. The dangling cord didn’t bother me. Cheers.
Cool! Cheers Guy.
Same here!
Same .
Among other things that i find great about this bike is that the service warning light can be reset by the press of a button.
Not having one would work too 😉.

@@TheLibr4rian Agreed, my Kawasaki 650 single vibes at idle some but not after you get going .My 250 Honda single vibes at hard acceleration , only .
Cool preview, I expect it would improve once run in, and the cable was not annoying.
Cool, cheers Hugh.
It is a very good looking bike. How does Royal Enfield keep going?
I'll take the single dangling cable over one sided or garbled audio any day.
Hahaha!!!! Me too!!!!!! 🤙🏻

I have the older RE Himalayan, I had to cut mine shorter, and many find it too long on the original, I would say that’s why they did it.

FYI: This bike is very capable off-road too, even with the stock tires.

Oh it's so frustrating. 400 X is a nice machine! Cheers Jerry.

Yep, if you're looking for instant acceleration when passing cars, the Shotgun is not the bike for you. The XSR 900 would fit that bill though. :)
I was intrigued by the landscape. Where are you located?
I'm located in Ballarat, Victoria Australia
Great video!
Thanks!
This or a Honda cb500x? Looking for a small second bike for my garage👍🏽

HIMALAYAN 450 ! ❤
I purchased a CFMOTO 450MT. Love it💪🏼

This bike is too powerful for you .
No one cares about the mic cable. Keep doing what you do.
Cheers!

It’s not a bad bike but the CFMOTO 450MT is significantly better.

I hate the black and gold color. The only color I like is white with graphics.
Hah! The black and gold option is the one I'd go for.
