The whole movie is a good watch. The blooper reel during the end credits shows Jackie breaking his ankle to powder by jumping from a bridge piling onto a boat. He still had to finish the movie so he got a sock airbrushed to look like a running shoe, then wore it over his cast.
I was going to mention the outtakes as well, because they show one from this scene, and he doesn't quite manage to dodge getting sandwiched by one of the pinball machines, and it looked like it hurt ruclips.net/video/C4RaZaesFDQ/видео.html#t=2m25s
wouldn't call it a blooper reel more like deleted scenes and shown to the public to show/prove how hard he and his team works unlike the west thats full of cgi/stunt doubles, in those days tis rarely stunt doubles, even the girl in "police story" wasn't a martial artists and still was thrown through glass panels
Man, much like a lot of people, this was my introduction to Jackie. And holy hell, it blew my mind. Me and my buddies went out and rented ALL his movies and just binged them.
Same here. I'd loved Martial Arts movies for years by this point, and I'd even seen Jackie before (in the Big Brawl), but this is the one that really turned us on to him.
I knew of Jackie long before this movie, but I'm a Kung Fu nut anyways. This was the only time i went to the first showing of any movie, because I knew it'd be worth it
It’s sad how this was the intro to Jackie for some. I was raised in all the old martial arts movies. So it was weird when my friends freaked out on this new martial artist guy. What? That’s Jackie Chan. Fearless hyena. Meals on wheels. The drunken master? Yikes. At least they know him now.
25 yrs ago I was a 20-something in Los Angeles and my friend asked me if I wanted to go see "Rumble In the Bronx". I had no idea what the movie was about or who Jackie Chan was. It was one of the most pleasant surprises in my movie-going life. I've been going through dozens of your videos this week. Thanks for your commentary and the excuse to revisit all these classic fight scenes!
I remember going to the theater to see this, this scene was one of three in the movie, that literally got a standing ovation in my theater. Never seen such a thing before or since
Loved this movie, very first Jackie Chan movie I saw as a kid. My dad and I rented it from Blockbuster so good. I felt bad when Jackie got messes up in the alley so seeing him being able to not only beat this gang up but help them realize they needed to change. So very good.
Yes!!!! Rumble in The Bronx is finally here!! And no one can do this like Jackie Chan, so thanks for this one, Max. There’s still the Marketplace fight
What I always like from Jackie Chan's movies are the out takes. Like with this very movie the shopping cart scene in the Dang hideout, just shows how hard these are to shoot and make look good.
I can't remeber how or when back in the 90's I found Jackie ...I loved he's style of action comedy, way before he bacame popular and anybody did not know him. I used to order copied tapes from china just to watch him. he is one of GOAT for sure...
Saw this in theaters when I was a teen. I was an avid fan of Jackie after that. Didn't matter the movie itself was just silly- the ACTION! OMJ! (Oh my Jackie!) Blew my mind at the time and got me into Hong Kong cinema.
There's another Jackie Chan movie that you should checkout is Mr Nice Guy. It's been a long time since I have seen the movie, but can't remember where a good fight scene is. There's maybe one fight scene that I remembered, he's in a shopping mall doing his cooking show live in front of an audience. Sorry, I just saw Mr Nice Guy trailer, there's a great fight scene at a construction site too. Here's also a surprising thing to know as well, the movie was also directed by Samo Hung.
Wish you had of watched the longer cut of this scene. 😊 Plus, this was shot after he broke his foot into a million peices, in the outtakes it showed him doing multiple takes of the leg drop on the pool table with his fake sneaker cast on.
God I love Jackie Chan, first time I ever watched one of his movies was when my dad showed me Shanghai Noon, it's probably one of my favourite memories. Been a fan ever since.
Absolutely agree Jackie is legendary the comedy beat downs are always amazing the street scene in shanghai knights is an all time favourite reminds me of slapstick co edy while still showing his abilities
We still need a fight scene in an Ikea warrehouse where Jackie Chan accidentally assembles a furniture display during the course of the fight. You know he'd be able to pull that off.
You should react to some fight scenes from District B13 and District 13: Ultimatum. They're the ones that popularized parkour, like the main guy who is in it is the son of the man who invented it. Really good fight scenes
You can tell at 2:40 the actress was trying to set up before Jackie got to that scene 😆🤣😂😹. Regardless, no wonder this took 3 weeks to shoot, this scene remains top notch for Jackie.
The Young Master by Jackie Chan. Hwang In-shik beats the crap out of Jackie in the final fight (on and off screen), he's being super stiff and a lot of the choreography is improvised. He's a very legit hapkido master and he came and did a demo at our local theatre. He shit talk Jackie (said he made him cry) and then went and injured the film presenter with a joint locking demonstration.
@@chrishubbard64 it's been a while. What other jump could I be referring to? I get the feeling that people have been desensitised by Jackie's feats because they simply watched the compilation real. Myself, I have watched him from Fearless Hyena, to his fall from the clocktower, to now.
@@arconeagain Well in one movie he is fighting in a mall and jumps onto a pillar and fireman poles his way through tons of light strings crashing into a stand underneath.
God I love and hate jackie chan films. I love them because he does such a great job of NOT being an overpowered monster of martial arts in his films. His fights FEEL like what a chaotic group versus one fight would be. Just tons of running, desperate dodging, single shots whenever possible that DONT obliterate the opponent, and taking hits because nobody, no matter how good they are at martial arts, is going to fight 20 people at once and walk away unscathed. What I hate is what doing things like he does did to his body. Every film had a "blooper reel" where half of them involved some injury minor to near crippling rather than something funny. Shattered ankles, torn up and heavily burned hands, nearly broken spines, jackie went through so much agony to make these films.
Honestly, I can't choose which Jackie Chan fight scene you should look at next because they're all so good! I personally liked his fight in The Young Master at the end and for a more serious tone, I liked his fight scene in New Police Story.
Jackie Chan in his prime and Donnie Yen 30-40 years ago if MMA was around they would have dominated it. Hell Scott Adkins said if Donnie Yen did MMA he would dominate it and that was just from a few years ago from Ip Man 4. Yet Donnie Yen is almost 60. And I do not doubt that Donnie Yen would have ruled it.
I would like u to react to some of Jackie Chan's mates besides Sammo if u think Jackie's athleticism is incredible, then your mind will be blown by Yuen Biao. Also I would like to hear your opinion on the Hong Kong Girls with Guns stars
The best Jackie is, a smart reaction fighter, he moves, he knows things to use. Not all about strength or dex, Smarts are key also, like Zorro, Jackie is a Martial arts Zorro.
Would love to see you take a look at some fight scenes from the TV series Warrior! There's a really good one between Joe Taslim and Andrew Koji in Season 1 Ep 9 that would make a great video!

I feel you could argue this is the most dynamic fight scene as a whole unit, in film.
They utilized everything that composed the set.
Checkhov's bank of white goods, if you will.

The fight in the clock tower from the end of Shanghai Knights is one of my favourite hollywood swordfights.

1:12 I always wondered what that move was called, where Jackie (in this example) jumps up and slams one leg down on his opponent.
My introduction to Jackie Chan was The Big Brawl, love it watched it many times
Fighting this man in an Ikea is suicide😂😂😂
This is my favorite fight scene to watch ever.
I Love what he does with the bottles, and the Ski😮so fast!

Jackie really mastered the balance between realism and fantasy, his fight scenes are so good
he's also a way better actor than most action actors, he actually plays more than one character, unlike, say, Donnie Yen or Scott Adkins
Wish you had of watched the longer cut of this scene. 😊 Plus, this was shot after he broke his foot into a million peices, in the outtakes it showed him doing multiple takes of the leg drop on the pool table with his fake sneaker cast on.

the athleticism of Jackie Chan is unmatched
Rumble in the Bronx was the first Hong Kong action film I ever watched. Was a life changing experience.
Man Jackie was the king of speed and he had done his own stunts for so many years it's insane to think how old he was when he was well retired
Hes not retired...new movie coming out in 2022
@@cherylcohen5700 Wait really?
One of his best fight scenes is The Glass Factory in Police Story (1985), if you haven't seen it you should check it out
You should watch the back alley brawl between Roddy Piper and Kieth David from “They Live” it is the most gloriously untechnical thing ever
Hey man, thanks for your work in putting these together, despite life and busyness! God bless you

Project A (1983) restaurant brawl scene. Trust me, if you like Jackie Chan, you will enjoy this one;)

Fucking classic film dude
You need to do Operation Condor 2 armor of the gods, when he fights the chicks in heels.
I love the he uses his environment as an advantage against them hahaha😅 great movie
Now I have to go back and watch the movie again..... 👍🏼👍🏼
This movie had the best use of a hovercraft I've ever seen.
One of the best movies of legend jackie chan Rumble in the bronx, huge respect🙇♂️
Don't finght with Jackie Chan in a room with so many furniture!😂
For your next video, if you haven't already done it yet, should be either City Hunter, Transporter 3, Battle Creek Brawl or Mr. Nice Guy
You should react to some fight scenes from District B13 and District 13: Ultimatum. They're the ones that popularized parkour, like the main guy who is in it is the son of the man who invented it. Really good fight scenes
Agreed, great movies. David Belle and Cyril Raffaelli are amazing!
The Shanghai Knights street fight is one of my favourite of Jackie’s
yo nice vid bro
happy to catch your stream earlier lol
the guy in the stripes passed away doing a stunt gone wrong. An explosion occurred where debris hit him while he was on a boat filming a scene.
there's a video where parts of this movie are redubbed with streets of rage sounds
Jackie chans who am still has the best fight in movies ever when Jackie fought the kicker and the puncher at the same time
You can tell at 2:40 the actress was trying to set up before Jackie got to that scene 😆🤣😂😹. Regardless, no wonder this took 3 weeks to shoot, this scene remains top notch for Jackie.
Wu Xia, 2011, Donnie Yen. Brutal fight choreography. Great movie.
Back at it again max
Did you notice the pool balls disappeared when they jumped onto the pool table
This is my all time favorite Jackie chan movie

They worked on the last scene for so long there's no grass left on the mountain by by end of the fight.
Ironically, this was filmed in Vancouver.
This is the movie with his famous jump right? I know he has made many leaps, but this one was epic, and aimed for US screens.
I mean, it has an epic jump from the top of a parking garage to the fire escape on another building if thats what you mean.
