Please give Ms Tina Turner her flowers 🌺 while she can still appreciate them. She has earned and deserves that. Her version of this song is straight 🔥. It reaches out to your soul
This was the first version I ever heard growing up until I was about 12. Then after Lennon got shot I found out it was a Beatles tune. I love the original but since this was the first one I heard I still gravitate to it. Great energy.....
My parents were very proud of their copy of Tina's version. We knew Beatles did it first but you'd go to jail for having Beatles, or anything western. So it was hard to get anything, and if you did get some tunes, you only play them around very trusted, non snitching friends and family, at very low volume level. This was in late 80s in Bulgaria 🇧🇬. It was under the USSR control, and communism was everywhere, but Tina planted the seed of freedom in my soul. I didn't even know English, at the time lol. Music frees your mind! God bless her.
Tina just kills it here! I just recently heard this rendition for the first time (like 10 minutes ago) and was compelled to look it up. I' love the original Beatles version, but dare I say, Tina's vocals took it to a whole new level. Damn she was good!
Wow ! I bought this by the beatles 1969 ish on the Apple label .All this song ever needed was a Black Soul singer to deliver it . Enter Tina Turner and she nailed it
@@virgiljmaxson5877 I don't think he meant "older than the beatles", I'm pretty sure he meant "older than the other version recorded by Ike and Tina". IIRC, the album version of "come together" they put out was in 1971. This is from 1970 and sounds like a demo recorded before cutting the album version (hence the production quality being lesser)
Had a whole evening listening to Tina Turner. I know there was a terrible history with Ike but this woman was a rock leviathan and the stuff with Ike was the perfect tapestry. Lennon's geneus word-play encapsulated and saved in fresh form in this awesome cover - way better than Jackson's effort. Joe Cocker did a nice one nevertheless.
The Beatles and Tina did different things for the same song. The Beatles made a cool, fun song that epitomizes everything that made them great. Tina's version is haunting and deeply soulful. I personally prefer Tina's version by a long shot, but everyone's got different tastes. After reading a comment below, I checked out Michael Jackson's version. It's not as bad as I thought it would be. Decent version.
One error in the Music in this video section. Ike & Tina's recording of "Come Together" is on their album by the same name, released in '70. It's NOT on River Deep Mountain High album from '67, which was produced by Phil Spector and on which Ike, regrettably, was sidelined and not present. Tina's vocal on this rendition of "Come Together" is as good as it gets, and Ike's arrangement/production is dusky and effectively seductive.
Please give Ms Tina Turner her flowers 🌺 while she can still appreciate them. She has earned and deserves that. Her version of this song is straight 🔥. It reaches out to your soul
If you're not here because Ms.Tina Tuner is The TRUE QUEEN OF ROCK DO US ALL A FAVOR AND SAY NOTHING

Grew up with the original, like this version better, Tina slays this tune. The instrumentation under "come together, right now" is amazing
She's a monster her talent is really horrifying glad we still got her here with us.
This is superbad! A classic!
Tina was a big Beatles fan ...
Never heard this older version before. Wow! Thanks for sharing, indeed.
It's not older than the Beatles...other wise it'd be hers...
