In California, I used to fish commercially for surfperch and found nightcrawlers to work exceptionally well. I thought why not, especially since bloodworms were so expensive.
Went their yesterday day and fished for surf perch I think you are using the bait because we got their late and fish for I thing 1 or 2 hours gots 13 the first time and got 16 the second time

Wrong, Don't fish on the high tide, Fish on the incoming tide!
Pretty sure that’s an incoming tide given the amount of shin high water
