The worst of the gales are at the other end of the lake, where the Fitz went down, because the wind coming out of the northwest causes the waves to build and build over 400 miles or so of the length of Superior. It gets ever more ugly until you get in the lee of Whitefish point near the Soo. The Fitz didn't quite make it.
The wind in the wires made a tattle-tale sound And a wave broke over the railing And every man knew, as the captain did too T'was the witch of November come stealin'
Thanks a lot! Why didn't you film the museum from which the channel is being filmed? People all over the world see a lot around him and do not see what he and his surroundings look like. It's a pity.
Common enough for November. The sinking of the ‘Edmund Fitzgerald’, which Gordon Lightfoot immortalized in song happened 11/10/75 & on 11/28/1905, the ‘Mataafa’ struck the wall at the entrance to the harbor, due to high winds & rough seas. She broke apart. Due to weather conditions, rescue attempts were impossible. 9 out of the crew of 27 perished as onlookers watched helplessly from shore.
Fantastic. Thank you and many greetings from Germany.
Thank you! Cheers!

Les tempêtes sur les grands lacs n'ont rien à envier à celles des océans et cela reste toujours un véritable spectacle ... from France
Imagine the wave size in the middle of that lake. Holy hell.
Thanks a lot!

Are these common in November? Thanks for sharing
