Heavy snow continued into midday in Duluth, MN with large waves crashing on the shore of Lake Superior. A glaze of ice from freezing drizzle and rain coated the ground prior to nearly a foot of snow falling, causing automobile and pedestrian traffic to struggle navigating town in the morning rush.
The memory I will carry forever of the worst snowstorm I've ever been in, was right where you are. Stay safe.
Lake Superior is a beast...both in the summer and especially in the winter! Duluth, because of its geographic position, always gets socked in. Terrific footage Live Storms Media.
I had to push a car down 40th ave West at 1:30am Sunday morning with my truck during that snow storm. We both got stuck right around the bend (he couldn't keep within the tire tracks), and had to wait until the plow went around us. That was nuts!
Winter and Summer make us grateful for Spring and Fall....
LOL DULUTH AREA HAS FALL??...I BEEN HERE FOR 11 YEARS AND DON'T KNOW THAT I'VE EVER SEEN MUCH OF A FALL HERE!
The sign for the Downtown Lakewalk is hysterical
Takes me back to days of my youth.
I love the North Shore area...spent a lot of time in Duluth...but weather is always a factor. Gotta use some smarts and prepare for it. I do love the " auto start" feature on my pickup..warm it up before I get to it.
I tend to visit in the summer. Love the Fitger brewing house and Canal Park! Merry Christmas Duluth from Mora.
Been to Duluth many times.....in the summer. Often thought about moving there - not so much now after seeing this. Chills me to the bone. 60 degrees and sunny in Tucson today 1/1/20. I do love Duluth, I'd love to live there 7 or 8 months of the year
They call that climate in Duluth MN. humid continental & also climate zone 3 with 117 day frost free warm growing season! A humid continental climate is also referred to as a "microthermal climate"! I believe winter there is really 5 months & the summer is barely 3 months long!!!!!
Been there done that!
Los Angeles California USA since early 1960s.
Best regards 👍
I will be eternally grateful to my parents for moving away from Duluth before I was born!
0:35 Great way to keep parking lot clear...park cars close together and limit the amount of snow in the center. Shovel the perimeter, move outer cars and the rest drive out pretty easy. At least that's what appeared to me with that shot. Maybe I'm wrong.
Laurel I live there and they're recalled brand new Volkswagen that failed EPA test and been sitting there ever since. It's still covered up.
Nice drift by that Penske truck driver. Some hearty souls in Minnesota!
How do people live and thrive in that weather?
We get around its not easy
Minnesota strong !!!!
If u were born in the state and still live here. Like me and my friend's too. We are use to it. Just have to remember when we get that first snowfall have to be careful with everything. I would have this than the hurricane's and the earthquake's too.
We are not pussys
BRRRRR!!! Looks really cold!
I hate anything with snow on it. That is the only thing I hate... I love almost everything else.
Love that area moving there from lake minnetonka this summer
I love snow It's so beautiful.
An old friend of mine lives there.
If you read this, Hi Mike!
Kind of weather I grew up in and don't miss. Living in Colorado is similar, but doesn't last as long.
Doesn't anybody know how to walk out to their car or truck and start the engine, turn on the heater, and wait... let the heater melt the ice on the windows. On the side windows it will create a layer of water between the ice and the window, and you should never break the ice around the wipers, unless you have some new wipers to replace the ones you just destroyed by being inpatient. I love this kind of weather, but it comes with it's own set of rules.
Why do they not cover their cars?
Only you, the Master of Winter, knows how to do this
Brrrrrr and uggggg! Moved from MN this Oct. Won’t miss those cold winters and all the skeets in the summertime. A beautiful place to visit tho!!
Oh he’ll no that’s why I live in Arizona baby
That ASMR…
Is this standard weather for the area?
I have been to Duluth many times in the summer, I always wondered what life would be like there in the winter.( I live in Tucson.) That storm does look exciting though.
Замечательная погода, благодать снег, чистый воздух
So thankful that I don’t live in these Climates!
SHUT UP this is pure heaven
that is why your windshield blades need to be up in winter time
You break the ice with the jagged edge, not the smooth edge of the scraper lol Bless their hearts, it probably doesn't even matter in that junk.
you're from the Southern united states aren't you lol
@@Nick-dk4od yup lol
@@cherokeestormchaser3259 You gave yourself away when you said "Bless there hearts" xD
@@Nick-dk4od 😂
I woulda been a nervous wreck tryna drive that moving truck on all that snow and ice. Glad I live down south! Stay safe up there!
It was not fun, by all means. If you had a full size truck with 4x4, then you were just fine, other than that you were better off staying home.
put an old blanket over the windshield
Not if there's already water or ice forming on it...
Please do something with the wipers
Life in the north land gata love it
finally some snow! Great!
Cripes. Colder than a witch’s t** for that time of the year.
Lake front snow damn
WOW! This truly is going to be a "deadly winter" as prophesied from Glynda Lomax. Wondering if this is the treasury of snow or more is still coming... Job 38:22-24
Those windshield wipers..
Ihana talvi ja tuiskut ❤❤❤ tulee
눈미많이왔네요아름답습니다
Anyone else think of the Edmund Fitzgerald on stormy Lake Superior?
I'd be lying if I said we didn't play that song a time or two. It's not November but we still had gales!
I live there.
brrrrr oups trop froid !!
File footage.
I bet these guys are praying for some global warming!
