Also Microsoft wants to make there games play on as many of their consoles as possible thus making game pass available to even more people. But my best friend is still running a day one Xbox one that looks like a vcr . . It runs fine. I play on a 1440p monitor at 120htz so I can run everything easily at 1080p or 1440p at 120fps for those games that do it. And it’s amazing . Like it’s really nice. Quick resume. Is a feature I didn’t think I wanted and now I have would never go back to anything without it period.
@@thutotente it’s fine I am playing off a 1440p monitor when my FPS on console set to 120fps at full 1440p resolution. My wife’s one x is right next to me on a huge 4K hdr10 etc tv all the bells and whistles . Hers looks great but the FPS is not there at all on the same level. The load times on my S blows her 1X away. And she wishes she had quick resume. Between the two my consoles makes no sounds at all. We do hear her fan kick on for some of the game / most after an hr or so of play. My series s is cool to the touch. As for the resolution side by side the differences is so minor 4K is not the thing I care about enough in games FPS you not only see the difference but you feel it. It’s like the difference between using a 1+ 8 pro and then picking up a iPhone 12 even. Both good but one is smoother and faster in every aspect. . It all really matters what you want
I have the Series S and its amazing. Great for the Game Pass Ultimate. I just wish Microsoft allowed the Series S to play One X versions of backwards compatible games. Its ridiculous for a console as powerful as Series S to be stuck with 30 fps versions of past games like Final Fantasy XV, when the One X could bump it to 60 fps. Hopefully this gets updated.

I love gaming and I was mostly a Playstation guy in last gen with the PS4. Once I saw the Series S reveal, I had a big smile on my face and said this is it, in some way or another I am jumping back into the world of Xbox. I got Series S even before I got the PS5 (thanks to the limited supplies) and all I can say is that I am in love with this little beast. I hope that I will be wrong about this but Series S might be the most underrated video game console of all time if Microsoft doesn't marketed well. It has all the awesome features to broke sale records It's surprisingly small (for people who loves to game with family and friends, you can easily put this bad boy into your backpack 🎒) absurdly silent, fast and joy to play with. I am 33 and I can say that Series S is the best purchase I have ever made in last decade including Switch and Ps4 which I love it so much. This console makes sense for anyone who loves video games. Series S + Game Pass Ultimate = Pure Joy

Most likely not because it only goes up to 1080p and 1440p monitors are gonna be more cheap in a couple years so I would recommend the X because it also had higher capability for future hardware update like if they were to increase the hz from 120
I bougt one as well and it’s amazing with gamepass till the damn ps5 came and just couldn’t have time for the s. No regrets i will use it during travelling time as it’s very small and easy to carry

Can i opt not to play enhanced versions of old games when the enhancements are made available? Like, opting out of the patches? It is far more interesting to me that old games can be playable on an external hdd

I would recommend the Series S, the simple reason for this being that you already have a library with the PS4 and hence a Series S entices the option of buying both consoles, you get the best of both worlds for a very good price range. I hope this helped.
Yeah it's definitely HDMI 2.0 with the Series S. Even on Xbox.com it provides a disclaimer that the Series S only comes with an HDMI 2.0 cable. However, it's possible that maybe international versions of the console come with 2.1...
can't wait to get mine, only console from the last generation i own are both nintendo consoles since i prioritize them mostly so the xbox series S seems perfect for me, it isn't that expensive, can play not only xbone games but also games from the 360 and some from the og xbox aswell as newer games i might be interested in, i know i'd have to get a seagate memory card eventually so the cost will be pretty much the same as the X but the S still seem more worth it overall for me

I like what Sony did making a digital edition with the same spec as the Standard version. The only reason I think Microsoft went this rout is they knew they had to make this even cheaper because they knew that the Ps5 was going to outsell both the x and the s. So by making it this cheap someone on a tight budget who wants a new next gen console could just get an s. I went with the X myself because I wanted a true next gen console not a cheap watered down version.
This console is trash. When you play on a 4k TV and compare it to the older xbox one x, you will realize what a step down this is. Couple that with the face that many X/S enhanced games such as destiny 2 or the new hitman require instillation on the internal ssd and won't play from external media like on the xbox one x, you are forced to buy the proprietary on the ssd expansion which is $200. At that price point, you would be better off just forking over the $500 for the xbox one x. Its very difficult to find either right now of course. Stick with the xbox one x.
