    Very helpful video, especially since I have yet to try any of the Createx Candy paints.

      Thank you Larry! I've tried to make candy by over thinning regular paint but that rarely works. These seem to work pretty good, and with so many colors to try!

      @@pappytinkers 😂 It does actually. That’s the reason I show my mistakes. Way too many modelers only show things going well when there are many hiccups along the way.

      I agree 100% ! I watch YT to learn new things, get ideas, and hopefully be entertained along with way. Your videos have all that !😁 Mistakes are how we learn. I'm not afraid to post them either, my short last week with the tailstock proves that! LOL It spun off and hit me in the face! @@scalemodelsnail

    Nice video, if I use black primer and chrome paint how it would come out?
    Thanks.

    • @pappytinkers
      @pappytinkers  7 месяцев назад +1

      It will come out a little darker than what I did. Createx makes a crimson red in Candy 2.0 that's a little darker, but I couldn't find that at my local hobby lobby.

    are the candies transperent?? if sprayed on clear polycarb

    • @pappytinkers
      @pappytinkers  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes, they are very transparent. So if you wanted to tint a clear body, it would work perfectly. But because it's so thin, you have to mix it with their 4050 clear, so it doesn't run. Thinking of doing it too an RC body?

      @@pappytinkers yeah trying to recreate marble look I had done years ago with a lacquer paint, but couldn't remember if I used candy or dedicated transparent paint :P
      spraying the candy color first and coming back in with a cling wrap blotch with either black or gold and then backing the whole lot with silver.

    • @pappytinkers
      @pappytinkers  3 месяца назад +1

      @@TheHonestlySneakyGamer you can use either for that but you get more control of the color with the candy. And honestly more depth to the color because it's actually more layers for the light to flow through, them reflect back to your eyes. But it takes more coats, longer to do. Don't you spray those bodies from the inside? I would love to see a pic when you're done!

    • @TheHonestlySneakyGamer
      @TheHonestlySneakyGamer 3 месяца назад +1

      @@pappytinkers yeah got to do everything in reverse order, as correct done on the inside

    • @pappytinkers
      @pappytinkers  3 месяца назад

      @@TheHonestlySneakyGamer that's exactly why I can't control RC stuff! Once it starts going a different direction, I get all discombobulated! Oh, take a look at the green 55 pick-up video, that I've was done with the Candy Poison Green over silver and gold.
