- Here's is the demo of Eastman's T49v. A 175 type model with a vintage lacquer finish. It looks, feels and sounds like a 40 year old guitar.

(the previous demo video cut off at 4 minutes. 5 minutes still remained)
Only two guitars have ever felt alive in my hands. An early 50's Gretsch which just vibrated and sang, and this model Eastman. It really felt like a worn in, comfortable, alive instrument. It made me smile 😊.
Thanks for the comment and so true
Rich, I bought this same guitar. It plays and sounds lovely. To play it feels like I have owned it for decades. Somehow they make it feel like it was custom made for me. I wish I could play as well as you, even with the arthritis in your hands. Wishing you the best!
Thanks for the note Josh
Great review, Rich, as usual. Great playing, too. √
I have a wonderful Pisano AR380 (which you also did a great review on); how would you compare the two guitars tonally, maybe neck-wise, too? TIA.
My buddy wants to sell me a version of this guitar with two pickups for $550. After listening to your performance, I don't think there's any reason to hesitate
go for it
Beautiful playing and beautiful sounding instrument.
Thank you
My 371 has a nitro finish. It’s pretty old though.
Thank you Rich. Ive heard mixed reviews on this brand but it sounds just LOVELY. Of course I know you could make a Stella sound like Segovia. :). I love the guitar. The pickup is so sweet. Love the old school tailpiece. Thanks again for this wonderful in depth review. Any vids of you blowing the hot rods away at NAMM? LOL. This guitar is #1 on my WANT LIST NOW!!!
I really does sound nice and it's available
Rich Severson wow. Not that bad a price either !!!!
If you're my student there is an extra discount
Rich, beautiful instrument. Obviously your technique goes far to bring out the richness of the tone. How do you keep your picking hand nails in shape?
They're plastic glue ons
Oh thank you so much. Saw the 1st vid that was cut short & wanted more. I have to say this is the 1st Eastman that really grabbed me. Which Quilter is that?
MicroPor200 8" spkr.

Hi Rich! Long time watcher here. I have an eastman OM and love it - and i really want an archtop with a good acoustic sound. I'm wondering if you can give me some advice... I am in a spot where i can buy either a t-49 or an ar680ce, but i'd have to sell a guitar to get the 680. Is there a significant difference in overall quality and feel between the two? Does the t-49 have a good acoustic sound? I really am a "one foot into jazz but mostly a rock/blues player" but i'd love an archtop that sounds good unplugged.... think the t-49 will cut it? or should i spend the extra on tje 680?
i played an ar380 and was unimpressed with the acoustic sound, if that's a good reference at all.....
ahhh.. thats where the rest of the video is... than ks :)
Qui connaît le nom du thème très connu qui ne me revient pas en mémoire et que je connais en plus.
