  • Isonzo is a very hectic quiet game, so I tried giving people money. This isn't a survival game, nor a very popular game, in fact barely anybody plays it. It's pretty dead, probably because of it costing quite a lot.

    The devs really only have themselves to blame, Verdun was loads of fun, full lobbies all the time, then Tannenberg split the player base in two and now Isonzo has split it even further. They could have just built it into Verdun as extra maps and factions but no, they want you to pay full price for each pack of maps in separate games. They added bots to fill the lobbies THEY killed by splitting a single game into three.

      I don't think that would have worked very well because Isonzo, I believe, runs on a different engine. This would have made it impossible to make it apart of Verdun with out making a new game. But with Tannenberg I agree.

    • @aztkshorty9138
      @aztkshorty9138 Год назад +95

      @@lostwizardcat9910 It's not even that they're underappreciated. These developers purposely split up the games, which basically killed their other games. Verdun back in 2015-2017, generally always had 1000 people on it. And instead of adding new content to Verdun, they decided to make a new game focusing on the Eastern Front. And then they made another game focusing on the Italian front. They purposely killed their games by being greedy, and instead of updating their first game they want to release new games to make money off the initial sales.
      TLDR: They killed their own games and deserve no pity, they should've just released DLC's and content updates. But sadly they wanted to charge for a full price indie game, which for them is around 30-40 dollars.

    As one of the die hard fans of this series, you don't really need much communication other than text chat telling people should we go left or right or which objective to prioritize. Alot of the depth amd skill of this game comes from knowing how to play both sides of a map and how to play each of the six classes in attack or defense. So unlike what other comments may suggests, this game has alot of depth but you have to commit to getting good like grinding ranks in other games. Also in tis game series people only use chat to tell wich objective to push/defent and shit talk and almost never use VC. Great video btw

    I absolutely love Isonzo. I didn't really care for Verdun when it came out because of how vanilla the game looked in Tannenberg was only slightly better. However I found that Isonzo it's different in my opinion, the gunplay is more refined, the gameplay meta is more refined from tannenberg in the overall map design created to always keep you in the action will never getting bored or lost. Yes the maps are narrow however they are large in-depth as you advance through each set of objectives you start to realize just how massive the maps really are. And given how small of a development team there is these guys managed to pull off some really fine details of their maps and graphics on some areas. I think people just look at this game and just think that this is going to be another basic WW1 Verdun/Tannenberg clone with no changes from the previous titles. Even though the player-base is small I will say that this game does better than Beyond The Wire which tried to capture the same style as Isonzo, but failed miserably to deliver that goal.

    I like how in the game you can progress even when just playing offline against bots. Makes for easy grinding and is good because after every online match for some reason my game crashes. It’s very annoying because when it crashes you have to go into the save data files (easy for me because I play on ps4) and then delete the corrupted data. Luckily when this happens it doesn’t actually delete anything from your progress or the game. For some reason it just downloads corrupt data and it’s pretty annoying. The last few times I played I didn’t experience the corrupted data issue so I think it’s fixed but it still crashes after every online match. Just a heads up for anybody wanting to buy. Still very good and I’ve played since the first day after launch so I do recommend!

    Note: Reached the end of the video. The attackers (the enemy team) ran out of lives and weren't contesting any objectives, so you won the game. Every game is attack and defend. Attackers have a limited amount of lives that replenishes when they complete the objectives of that "assault." When they complete all the "assaults" the attackers win. If they run out of lives, the defenders win.

    I started playing this game recently. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Only after realizing my server had 2 others in it did I decide to look for you playing it. What did I find? It’s a dead game you’ve already covered. I’ll watch it and see what I think.

    ppl don't talk in isonzo cuz it's primarily a european games and well we all speak different languages. that being said there is usually a up to 3 pretty busy matches happening during EU times. none ot the ww1 game serries games are very populated but they tend to keep a very dedicated yet tiny core playerbase

    The games are populated around the evening eastern time and around 1 am they die down so you might need to switch to EU servers if you're in the US or AU.

    haha I remember that you asked if anyone had a mic ! Suddenly hearing a voice... was like wow, a voice :D Indeed a rare thing in this game. I make sure I let myself heard next time 👍 Despite lack of voices it is still a lot of fun to play Isonzo ! I am a she btw.. but you could not know that without my voice ;)

    I put over 400 hours in to Verdun, but just couldn’t get in to Tannenberg or Isonzo as much. It’s more of the same, and the dwindling player counts killed whatever enthusiasm I might have had left.

    There were tons of players back in october, I played for about 200 hours and got all the achievements but then it became boring. Empty servers most of the time and the updates took too long to be delivered. There's no point in adding new maps if nobody is playing anymore

    so the problem with Isonzo is that each time they released a new Game/Expansion its splits the community because you need each game to play on the relevant maps, which meant that when Tannenberg came out it split the player base in lets say half, so once Isonzo came out it split it in half again, which means that there basically no one playing these multiplayer only games which creates the low player count death spiral, where people stop playing or checking if there's players because no ones playing which means no one plays or checks.
    Verdun was a very fun game and I think of the three its the only one that still has some players but not many
