Me too ... although I use the 22mm most often and then the awesome awesome 28mm super-macro. That is a ton of fun. Especially since taking ownership of the EOS M literally only days ago now. And since installing ML, oh my Lord! This has really rekindled my wish to make movies for the rest of my life! Zeek, your love of the EOS M is shared by many the world over and now me also.
The M & ML has cast a spell on many haha, fantastic camera and glad to hear you're liking it as it isn't for everyone. But if you know how to use it properly, this camera can really deliver 😎👉🎥🔥

I went to the Stanley Kubrick venue in London to see the lenses he used in his movies, amazing, would love to borrow some of those to try out on the EOS M
I ordered my EOS M from a second-hand camera shop this morning. It comes with this kit lens. It will arrive in the mail tomorrow. I can't wait to start experimenting with the EOS M.
This video made me buy the Eos M. I like all you can do with cameras but I hate their size and this is just perfect. I considered the 7artisans 25mm however it doesn't have IS and this does, seems like a no brainer.
The 7Artisans 25mm is a fantastic choice. One of my favorite lenses I've used, and with a neck strap and pistol grip added to the EOS M, you can get some very stable footage. I also have this lens for my Micro 4/3 cameras. Best Wishes!!
Your video quality improves dramatically. 👍🏻 I just sold the 15-55 today for 100 bucks. I bought the Eos m for 100 with this lens and the kit flash. If I subtract the shipping costs I paid I made 6 bucks with buying the Eos m and selling the lens and the flash. And the camera has only 8000 klicks on it. 🔥
Great footage Zeek! Now I'm considering buying an EOS M. Someone is selling one near me for $165 usd. It looks to be in good condition. Slight scratches on the screen. I have an M50 and haven't used the kit lens since getting manual vintage lens.
The M is Awesome, I still have the M50 too. As long as all the buttons are working though.. This lens isn't a must, but if you want to travel super light or if you're already invested in EF-M glass, then this is definitely a nice cheap option. Always love Vintage glass 😎👌🎥🔥
It's a modern photo lens, so this is to be expected. A diffusion filter would help like a pro-mist, but then viewers wouldn't get the true perspective of this lens. Btw love the Tiffen Pro-Mist.

I recently got a 1/4 warm black pro mist and loving it (got the warm version because it was cheaper/why not since I love warm colors?) but to see you with your skill making use of this type of filter on the M would be awesome. @@alaincopter I have thought about this before, I have the warm pro-mist #2 which is crazy strong and then the normal pro-mist 1/4 which is my favourite and then Glimmer glass. I've use the 1/4 a lot especially for my talking heads on YT.

Better sharpness and detail from corner to corner, the 18-55 when I began to use it just optically looked superior to the 15-45. The focus feels better too, it wasn't a joy manual focusing on the 15-45 and I also prefer the extra zoom for more compression instead of the slightly wider field of view. If I was starting fresh, I would choose the 18-55 or maybe even consider the 18-150 if price is not an issue.

perfect. i just bought an eos-m + kit lens for 154€ from ebay. looks like new. i guess the lens is good for starters, but the sigma 18-35 f1.8 seems to me like the ultimate upgrade.

I love it for photos (street photography, random stuff encountered when walking around), but got a bit frustrated when trying to shoot video with Magic Lantern. Your videos helped at lot with setting everything up, so I'm slowely getting there. I already got some pretty nice footage, but could be better, specifically lacking a bit of sharpness.
Thanks for this great video with very sleek editing and smooth movement Zeek, I have 3 of these lenses and use them on three separate camera bodies at different focal lengths for multi-cam shots, so easy to get these lenses at very low prices, if you look closely at the specification Canon has put a lot into these lenses and never meant to be so cheap, if used carefully they are great for still photography just search the still photography forums, I also have the 18-55mm STM EF-s version with a full frame EF adapter fitted (thanks to your tip for the 10-18mm STM) so it can be used with the Viltrox speed booster and any EF Canon mount body including the 5D MKII, I also have the EF-s 55-250 STM and EF-s 10-18mm STM with the EF converters fitted, all super lenses from Canon for this great EOS M cine camera we all love, just awesome, Happy New Year to you and looking forward to great content from your channel in 2021, thanks a million Zeek

First off all let me say beautifull as always!!!My native language is not english.i am seeing in some frames some pixel smearing (dont know if thats the words to describe what i am seeing?)like at around 5:05 when the kid on the rock turns his head.and other frames look absolutely marvalelous sharp,crisp and spot on.Dont take this as a critique.....i noticed this "pixel smearing/blending" also on frames of my own,while other shots where cristal clear... just trying to understand the cause of this.....i hope i was clear in my explanation. thx

There are good EF-s Kits out there like the 18-135mm & 10-18mm which I have also tested on the channel. The video before this was shot completely with the 10-18mm. I did like this more than the 15-45mm.
I got this one with M but never used it on it. 😂 I noticed that it supports 2 mods for stabilization on M10 and newer. Like those expensive teles does. It sure feels much better built then 15-45, but not as practical.
After using both Kit lenses, they're both good tbh! Trends if you want the wider or longer focal length. After using a new 15-45 IS, I realised I had a bad copy of it.
@@ZeekEOSZ That is very common with that lens. I have bad 15-45 right now. Had good one before i bought M but sold it. Now i have bad copy that came with m10. I think that newer ones specially the ones that come with M6II or M50II are all good.

Previous owner installed regular canon 18-55 ef with ommlite autofocus adapter. Do you think image stabilization and autofocus on the regular canon 18-55 ef lens would work with eos m with ML?

It's the normal things, usually faster apertures at wider focal lengths and towards the some lens you get a slower aperture. There are constant aperture zooms like the Canon 24-105 F4 L
The good thing about the 18-135mm IS is obviously the range, and the fact that you can attach it to a speedbooster + More light/depth of field. So it would be my choice. If you want to stay small minimal and compact, or if you own other EF-M lenses like the Canon EF-M 22mm F2 or 55-250 EF-M, then it would make sense to keep the 18-55mm for a light travel.
NGL after using this lens for 3 years, I really dislike it. It's too dark, unusable below 25mm (too much distortion and vignetting), manual focusing is not linear, focus ring is not easy to grip. I bought myself a bunch of vintage lenses, all 50mm and above, and I haven't looked back since. Even tho sometimes I really want a wider fov and stabilization, the image is not good enough unfotunately. But if one can get it for cheap, then yea, get it.

@@ZeekEOSZ this kit lens has better zoom ring that isn't stuck than my sigma 18-50 f/2.8. the focus ring is great too. although i still prefer the 15-45mm because it's wider. but the funny thing is, eventhough this lens is so cheap, it has metal mount unlike other manufacturers can't wait for your raw bokeh anamorphic helios swirly dude. thank you for the eos m content. thank you for the enlightenment

@@ZeekEOSZ I am getting a used eos m with a e2c-m 18-55mm and an adapter for rd to ef-m. But I heard that Canon is selling off(discontinued) their ef series and move on to rf and ef-m.
I'm not Russian. Next time i'll see if i can put subtitles. The only problem, sometimes my videos are not scripted and so I then have to write up the whole thing again. I'll see what I can do in the future.
Thanks, Zeek! I've been wondering about this one...........I only had the 22mm F2 and needed some stabilization so I got the EF-S 18-55 and it's working great so far! But........with the adapter it's quite heavy feeling. I was wondering how this one performed and it looks nice. Hard to beat the EF-S 18-55 for $40 but this EF-M for a bit more could be a nice budget upgrade, especially since it's so light + no adapter needed. Thanks for all of your great videos! Dave

This lens got stuck at times, unable to take pictures as mechanical shutter doesn't move. Rebooting the cam solves this issue

It was all shot manually by eye on a sunny day, so I probably just missed focus slightly, is the main cause haha 😂👍🎥🔥🍿

Beyond shocked 😳 how does this compare to the 18-135mm?
The good thing about the 18-135mm IS is obviously the range, and the fact that you can attach it to a speedbooster + More light/depth of field. So it would be my choice. If you want to stay small minimal and compact, or if you own other EF-M lenses like the Canon EF-M 22mm F2 or 55-250 EF-M, then it would make sense to keep the 18-55mm for a light travel.

NGL after using this lens for 3 years, I really dislike it. It's too dark, unusable below 25mm (too much distortion and vignetting), manual focusing is not linear, focus ring is not easy to grip. I bought myself a bunch of vintage lenses, all 50mm and above, and I haven't looked back since. Even tho sometimes I really want a wider fov and stabilization, the image is not good enough unfotunately. But if one can get it for cheap, then yea, get it.

No developer has been working on the 5D2. It's still capable though of cinematic imagery.

You need to shoot Magic Lantern RAW with the EOS M. It's installed onto he SD Card not the camera. My latest video goes about showing this. 😎👍

Is buying the canon ef-s lense a mistake for the canon eos m? I bought the canon ef-s lense instead of ef-m.
Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens thats the title of the item
EF-s is for EF Mount,
EF-m is for EOS M Mount,
Both are good either way. I do like the size of the EOS M Mount kit.

@@ZeekEOSZ this kit lens has better zoom ring that isn't stuck than my sigma 18-50 f/2.8. the focus ring is great too. although i still prefer the 15-45mm because it's wider. but the funny thing is, eventhough this lens is so cheap, it has metal mount unlike other manufacturers

Optically, this 18-55 EF-m looks a little better. But yea, very similar.
@@ZeekEOSZ I am getting a used eos m with a e2c-m 18-55mm and an adapter for rd to ef-m. But I heard that Canon is selling off(discontinued) their ef series and move on to rf and ef-m.

I use 2.5K FRTP Mode. 2.5/2.8K is good too. 5K FRTP would be next best.

Thanks, Zeek! I've been wondering about this one...........I only had the 22mm F2 and needed some stabilization so I got the EF-S 18-55 and it's working great so far! But........with the adapter it's quite heavy feeling. I was wondering how this one performed and it looks nice. Hard to beat the EF-S 18-55 for $40 but this EF-M for a bit more could be a nice budget upgrade, especially since it's so light + no adapter needed.

@@ZeekEOSZ 2.8k looks the best for me. But record times vary from 2sec to 10sec at most in 10bit mode. (usually around 3 sec)
@@ZeekEOSZ and I think that that all new 4-5 stop Canon IS makes a huge impact on the footage. Even in those "cheap" canon kit lenses. - these are so good.
