Sadly enough, Raymond Briggs (88), the original author and illustrator of the Snowman has passed away today! His legacy will continue through his marvelous books! Rest in peace, sweet Mr. Briggs! You have touched souls and brought joy to millions of people around the globe.
Remembering Raymond today 🎇🕊️ 💟⛄🏚️🐩❄️ Thank you - it's difficult to articulate feeling lucky to be moved by the magic of something like The Snowman. There's nostalgia but you manage to capture that feeling of something universally touching in an eternal way, which can captivate a new audience afresh, like the best stories. "Walking in the Air" from the original, as they fly above the rooftops, is part of what made that story unforgettable for me, as well. And the denouement, if we can use such a fancy word for a children's tale, is a big part of it. It wasn't saccharine. It described a moment of magic which came to an end. It remains like the best fairytales - full of a sense of wonder, but also a bit haunting - the ephemerality of magical imagination, the loss of unique and unlikely companionship, the need to remain in the experience of the moment because not everything lasts forever. As a story for children, although not a word is spoken throughout, this makes for a powerful memory! Noticeably this one ends without the loss of companionship, perhaps thus averting existential crises in the prepubescent, haha. But if you look at old fairytales, they are often quite gnarly, even when Bowdlerised, and the most captivating and long-lived fables, like the Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid or Oscar Wilde's Prince can be expressive of the pain and grief of loss as well as enchanting beauty and connection between souls. Cheers and wishing all viewers peace and joy, and an uplifting moment of relief as this year reaches its end. 🐩💟 May Raymond rest in peace. 🎇

You cried because a dog died, I hope you're not an adult. What does that say about your character?
AGE has nothing to do with MATURITY. So are you curious, fascinated or perhaps just CONFUSED with Appropriate Emotions as they relate to age and maturity.
Chronological AGE is, think birthdays and
MATURITY is your MENTAL DEVELOPMENT or wisdom that helps deal with your CONDUCT and relationships. You want to STRIVE for them to DEVELOP as CLOSE as possible or hopefully a little bit MORE MATURE then YOUR AGE when it comes to your EMOTIONS.
You Obviously skipped right over the part where my daughters learned to deal EMOTIONALLY
as they AGED and MATURED in regards to dealing with the death of animals.
To bottom line:
Cared but Align your EMOTIONS to reflect your age and MATURITY.

I wish I knew what's become of James, The Snowman's 1st friend.
I think he turned into David Bowie.
I love that the guy who composed the soundtrack to this also did The Sims 4. You can really hear similarities between the two
Ilan Eshkeri indeed! ❤
A sequel done right ♡
