God blesses the just and the unjust... so thankful that God chose to glorify Himself through these fortunate survivors. May their new lease on life be the foundation to make a difference in God's Kingdom and lead souls to the foot of the cross.

We speak about lives not scissors... That was actually really cold conclusion. If I was one of the 7 and I prayed for salvation towards the One who says that wants me to live with him and loves me with everlasting love and then answers:
Oh no, you would be not saved. It's best for your future not to have one, but hey the other 5, you know what, I will answer with yes and you better get one. Oh, and all of the 12 just know that I (God) answered your prayer, I just think that you the 7 would be better to cease in the ocean alone. Easy, right. Don't worry, I have the power to resurrect you. When I come back I will, you know, get you back to life. Easy peasy. Just die now. You absence would be the best in the big picture I see. You the 7, I know you will understand how wise am I, the God of the Universe, by just let you be with no chance for another second joy. " Oh, a side note. That's how I(God), when I deliver you from the Devil's kingdom, will rule my kingdom. I will always answer your prayer requests, but not with the answer you want. Welcome in my Paradise.
What a great God, ha? It's definitely not the one I know.
You better get a better conclusion, because that one sucks.

God, had answered all of them. To all of the 12 with YES, RIGHT NOW YOU WILL BE SAVED. If at that point where the pastor lays in the water and asks God to continue or not, he had looked at the star and counted it as nothingness, the saved would be 4 not 5. But the pastor trust the Lord, and he recognized God in the midst of the storm. He heard the "YES" . He stuck with God. But God will forever and ever answer non selectively. . That's why the Bible is full with promises. The little city where Lot hid himself was supposed to be destroyed, but due the hesitation of Lot, God speared even that small city. In the water with the pastor they were people who didn't share his faith, but they joined HIM. That's how instead of 0 we got 5 souls who grasped the promises of God

Dear Queen Z. I read your comment and I felt the need to respond because I have wrestled with the same question many times in different settings. Not to say I have the answer to your question, but I just wanted to share an opinion on how I believe we all can understand the terrible things that happen in our world under the watchful eye of a loving God, and how I personally resolve the issue. I am a believer and that's my worldview, and I do respect that not all share that worldview. One thing we all can agree on is that none of us really know the full details of what happened that night. Each of the survivors have their own perspective on what happened based on their experience. As believers we have Bible verses we use to explain these confusing situations but not all Bible verses will satisfy your quest. Whether the other people who died were believers, or if they prayed for deliverance is unknown. Only God knows. The scissors response is one man's feeble way of explaining complex things, and I personally believe all of our attempts to explain the unknown and complex ways God handles human problems will be feeble in some way to someone. The one thing we can all be assured of is God's love for his children. I don't know if you are a parent of not, or if you are a person of some authority, but if you are, there are some situations you have faced and had to make a tough calls/decisions, and guaranteed you did not satisfy everyone. How about God, who carries the weight of the whole world, not only humans. So Romans 8:28 becomes a plausible explanation, if you view things from the perspective of God's love, and that he sees what we don't see but wants the best for all involved. The best position in my opinion would be to trust God's heart of love, even though we don't understand his ways. Only a personal experience with God will come close to you understanding the way he answers prayers, or doesn't. Hope this helps.
