I listen to this rendering over and over again. This is a perfect example of perfection, every aspect of this performance is perfect, the composition, the demeanour and the voice. I have listened to other sopranos, even her own different recordings, but none to equal this one. Another example of such perfection is Gigli singing La Matinata. Such music turns the soul upside down. That's real living !

Absolutely exquisite! It filled my soul with not only this incredibly gorgeous version of Ave Maria by William Gomez but also by her angelic voice. This is agonizingly beautiful; it makes me want to cry and makes every cell in my body burst with the gloriousness of her voice and this music.
A fellow parishioner discovered William Gomez' Ave Maria for his son's funeral a few months ago, and our two Cantors, a soprano and mezzo soprano have also sung it beautifully! Elina also does a beautiful job. It's a challenge not to "lose it" when this beautiful version is sung well. Bravo!

Beautiful voice and just plain beautiful. And the collaboration between conductor, orchestra and singer is absolutely critical to a perfect performance like this one. And as her husband, this conductor knows her very well and he works hard to make sure everyone is in sync. Karel doesn't conduct every Elina performance, but I notice he is present at many and I think that is planned. They are a team in every way and he understands her in a way no other conductor can. I love mezzo-sopranos better than other types of soprano voices. The mezzo's repertoire is more expansive, but IMHO, the music is exceedingly more difficult than the others, especially dramatic sopranos, whose more powerful voices usually get all the attention.
I always come back to this performance when I‘m feeling blue. Her voice let‘s me remember that with such amazing music there is in the world it‘s not worth being sad. ❤️
