Curious to the specs on those arrows and what you're running up front with a outsert and broadhead. I want to get some outserts this yr, I've heard they help protect and or strengthen the end of the arrow.
These particular arrows are black eagle instincts. They are 400 spine and 31 inches long. I have 275 grains total up front. That includes the 100 grain outsert and 175 grain head.
@Joseph Whiffen IV I would have gave specific name brands if I knew them but couldn't recall at that moment. I wasn't trying to with hold anything. I know iron will and ethics archery has some offerings.
Good video Paul! I’ve done the same thing. I was shooting a WF-21 all season and just got a 58” Toelke Whistler from Trevor yesterday. The biggest shift for me is going to be dealing with larger gaps since I can’t shoot a fixed crawl. Good luck!
I abandoned the fixed crawl sometime last year. It always gave me weird tunes for whatever reason. So my gaps are actpretty close to the same thankfully!
@@SaddleHunter currently I'm running 535 grain back eagle instincts. So somewhere middle of the road for over all weight. 400 spine with 225 up front...... my gap at 15 yards from the tree is about 4 inches under the deer. So roughly 8 to 10 inches to point of impact.
Trad vanes! Feathers are great but they are loud if brushed against something and in flight. Trad vanes are dead quick and that's the pull that made me switch.
You’re right I’d absolutely disagree, a longbow is definitely more forgiving than a recurve in my experience. But we’re all different and we all can feel one is more forgiving than the other.
I've got a 32" draw and hard to find arrows long enough 😡 Black Eagle full length work for me. I can spare some draw length if you need some 😉😁 I've always heard it said that a longbow is much more forgiving than a recurve. But in my experience that is absolutely backwards, They are much lighter in the hand any little wiggle they move so easy over a regular recurve like a black widow.I own 3 longbows and they are great, but it's a different world from a 4 lb recurve. You have to have a more steady bow arm when using a longbow and better follow through. Longbows will test your resolve 😅
Thank you, great information.
You're my trad Archery guru now 😄

@@pitbullman4111 thanks. Are outserts specifically from each arrow company?
@Joseph Whiffen IV there are aftermarket ones to be had. Most companies carry brand specific ones though
@@pitbullman4111 appreciate it. Was just looking for a suggestion sorry. I didn't know you were not allowed to suggest. Thanks again

@@pitbullman4111 Nice! What kind of gap do you have at say 15 yards? Are you shooting a heavy, long arrow to try and decrease it?

I could use an inch or two lol
As I got further into your video I had to make more comments. I'm gonna keep you busy🤣😁
I totally agree recurves are easier to shoot than longbows. I actually make that comment on an up coming video to be posted.
Great video mate 👍
Good vid! Let’s see a shooting vid next 👍🏻
Just posted one!
Love the Gremlins. FYI the quiver is 1lb. I agree, heavy bow you can hold better and they are usually quieter. Great Vid.
Yea im at 2.48 pounds with loaded quiver!
