I fucking love this rendition! I’m a bit late for the party but damn hearing the original Deep Purple version and hearing this later in the future was quite the treat to hear. I hit the floor in total awe after closely listening to Blackmore’s 16-bit MIDI solo! Awesome work! I want a copy of the game now.
Good job, Google. You've incorrectly identified a MIDI rendition of "Highway Star" as "Freeway Star". EDIT: Actually, Google was correct. Black Wax All Stars used this as the background music and just sang over it (sounds like they were drunk when they sang it). Well... Hmm. Sorry, almighty Google. Please spare me for doubting you when you vaporize us all in 2045. I am only human.

I played RnRR a lot when I was kid and this song in particular is so memorable because I never got to listen to the whole song. I always finished the race before the song got to the epic, most-well known riff. Highway Star was usually used for really short race tracks for some reason...

It wasn't the big version but just a couple pages of the regular magazine, just a taste of what the full version had to offer. Within a certain preview flyer was two codes: Olaf the Viking Racer & Unlimited weapons!!! My friends never again wanted to play against me........EVER
