The quality of the drum programming gives me chills knowing it's coming from a SNES.

blows my mind how good these covers sound, technical limitations turned into an artform
100%. I honestly prefer the game's rendition of Highway Star over the original - that's VERY high praise. Whenever Tim Follin works on a game, the console's sound chip needs a cigarette after he's done lol.
This game SO deserves a remake! So many hours spent having a blast with friends. Such a fun game.

No not yet. I said I'm working on the mod...Maybe I place a video online in a couple of days first. I'm testing and searching for other stuff to use as well, like "start race screen" (with the traffic-light and the F/X in it) pictures from the original game, also working on a full "Larry 'Supermouth' Huffman" voice-comment from the SNES, original music from the original artist, making the boss-characters playable characters, making Rip and Shred playable characters and more...So be patient, I'm already working a month on this now, and it costs a lot of my free time. The mod that I'm making is for Motor Rock, not for the original game...You must buy the game via the Yard-website and then play it via Steam, as you might know...
There was a remake that got put onto Steam, but it got DMCA'd (russian developer; no concept of copyright laws).
doubt they could do it justice unless they get the rocket league guys and go all out on the concept

Father born in 80, and i in 01, this sound track was a massive influence on me from birth really. I'm grateful he kept his snes, it had such good games to grow up with. Chrono trigger, Doom, the Mario's of course. Nostalgic Af

These are some great 16-bit renditions!
The Follin bros. did this, if anyone else did it it would not be as good as this, I can guarantee you. You can listen to the soundtrack of Plok if you didn't believe me. Same composer, same great quality found nowhere else on the SNES.

the best part of this it sounds so great you can not think it is on a SNES
its done by one of the follin brothers. they are known to do the absolute best quality music that is possible on the hardware they are working on. so its no surprise that this is the best sounding snes soundtrack i ever heard.

The Born to be Wild final solo is what makes this theme in special so awesome in the game
It's amazing to hear which songs were used in this game at the time. I remember as a kid thinking how cool the music was but never actually knowing any of these songs as I was too young. Bad ass!!
It's just not the same without the explosions and the badass narration.

I've always loved the renditions they did for Paranoid, Highway Star and Born to be Wild. I've played this game back in the 90s and it greatly influenced my taste in music. It was and still is an Awesome game!
7:17 you couldn't do a better job on the Highway Star midi with a modern synth if you tried. Still fucking unreal, 20+ yrs later...

SONY SCP Sound Chip, makes magic in SNES, incredible fidelity, incredible sound.

Loved this whole game and everything about it growing up
Amazing how close these are to the originals, coming out of the SNES. Especially Highway Star. I just started playing the RNRR hacked expansion recently and it's like a reliving a piece of my childhood.
Follin brothers are VGM gods, that's why. Nobody could make the SNES' guitar sounds so similar to an actual electric guitar like them.

OMG THANKS, I just came after listen the megadrive version and OMG... there's no colour and the worst is that there are people truly believing that the megadrive version is superior and the people that they prefer this one have no taste...
This soundtrack is amazing, the quality of the samples and the music is like CD quality.
There's so many SNES Classics that deserves remakes and this is definitely one of them

+bigwhitehound i think they should make an online remake of Rock n' Roll Racing. With modern graphics but with the same style, and with similar gameplay mechanics.
Maybe a map editor too and a more complex upgrade system, more cars etc.

Blizzard DID release them; just google rock and roll racing download and there are directions that point to blizzard's website.
