Honestly, it deserves every bit of recognition it can get. This definitely feels like a modern-style SMBZ in terms of how the combat paces itself, as well as Metallix's brutality. I even had a thought in mind about an alternate scenario regarding the final scene with Red that really could've put a twist on it if Metallix decided to play dumb with Red in having the beam actually "damage" him. Through the aftermath of the fire, all he'd see is a silhouette of him laying on the ground, which would cause Red to get cocky and boast about how he shouldn't have pushed him that far... only to instantly get a fist right through the chest as Red looked down at the gaping hole that was just made in him (the perspective could even change to Red's momentarily as he's looking down to make it feel REALLY impactful). He'd look over slowly to Metallix who still has his arm impaled in him, giving him a death glare as he says those iconic lines. As he finishes, he'd ram it in even further to grip his hair right behind him as he uses enough force to tear straight down his entire body, only really leaving his head and a straight cut down from where his chestplate originally was. He'd still do the Raging Demon move on him as per usual, before then ending it off as he switches to the missile launcher on his arm, wrapping Red's hair around it so that he'd be taken along with the missile into the sky. Once he fires it, he'd warp back down to the ground, charging up that final beam to send him into oblivion. Regardless, your take on it was close to the original and I think it benefitted it too.
It also reminds me of the scene from Invincible where once Omni-Man kills Red Rush, the music stops as he kills the rest of the guardians as violently as possible. Truly, art can enrich our souls once we notice these details.
Too bad his Chronic Depression, Crippling Anxiety and High Functioning Aspergers plus that one guy who almost hijacked his series won't ever change his mind about hiring a team to finish this series. He'll be long dead before we'll EVER see this series finished.
@@fanaticmitchell4694 And that will be the unfortunate, heart-shattering end to the SMBZ legacy, if it hasn't already. I will say though; not hiring good, faithful people who would actually see and go through with his vision, because 1 bad guy tried to hijack the series is an extremely unhealthy mindset. That's like not hiring anybody for your business, because you had a bad employee one time. There's nothing wrong with the general idea of having a team to help you out. In fact, with how big SMBZ was planned, it's almost encouraged.
@@CornaOnTheCobYeah, good luck trying to convince him that. Another reason why he wants to do it alone is because he has constantly referred to himself as a perfectionist multiple times and that others cannot hope to see his vision. I think that's just him in denial about his OCD.
The “I’ll crush you” line will always be iconic for both the SMB & Sonic communities. & that line originally coming from Cooler makes it even more awesome
I love that that line's usage in SMBZ is far more iconic than where that sound byte actually comes from. When people see/hear that line, most of them think of SSMS. I'm not even necessarily dissing the movie (I've never watched it so I don't have an opinion), I'm just noting how bizarre it is when you really think about it. Still love it, of course. It's Metallix's (using the new name to refer to the old one as well to ease confusion) most iconic scene, and possibly the most iconic scene of the entire show.
I love the detail of Luigi tanking the laser with the shell. Because if I remember, doesn’t Mecha Sonic shatter the shell in the next fight? Really emphasis how hard he hits afterwards.
A Koopa Shell can tank the power of "Seven barrels of death laser aimed at your face".. But Semi-Super just shatters it like glass. He's definitely on a NEW Level
This was AMAZING. this whole delivery turned out exactly how Id have imagined it! You improved a lot Kirb-Crew! keep it up, hope Mark gets to see this too!
This part has been re-animated multiple times by tons of people who are SMBZ fans. It's good that there are still people who remember the good old times,When there was nothing entertaining to watch on RUclips until we found this beautiful treasure that we consider and want to be an anime.
SMBZ was and honestly still is something truly special. I always enjoy looking through the comments of the episodes and seeing how many notable people I recognize. So many people saw it, even non-fans of Mario, Sonic, and DBZ. It managed to stand on its own feet with gorgeous sprite battles _and_ a good story with excellent characterization that feels absolutely genuine to their respective source materials. It's the greatest love letter to all three franchises. Its influence was also large. I still remember when Tom Fulp had to update Newgrounds, the entire site, in order to allow Episode 6 to be uploaded because it was otherwise too large. That kind of hold is nothing to sneeze at. And how when an episode drops, it's an _event._ _everyone_ drops what they're doing to watch it ASAP.
The added brutality on the Axem Rangers' deaths is *sublime*, the shift from DBZ style to Mortal Kombat style adds to the fear, and the addition of Yoshi PTSD is a nice touch.
This almost feels official. I think other episodes of the reboot try to be more different from their original counterparts, but this is still really good. I love all the additional dialogue.
The way Metallix decapitated Green and shoved he's head into Black's chest is total savage, especially the way he ripped Pink's body in half in front of Red making him realize that he's no joke.
Good lord, Metallix did _not_ come to play. The Axem Rangers's deaths were far more brutal than the original. Special mention has to go to Pink's. Whereas she's just blown to bits in the original, here Metallix just _tears her in half._ Forget goring Yellow, beheading Green and shoving his head into the hole in Black's chest before blowing them up with missiles, or Red dying pretty much the same way, _that_ stood out as the most brutal upgrade from the original. Well done!
Well, Pink was cut in half first, then blown to bits, but, yeah, this death was FAR Slower, on top of happening after Green and Black kicked the bucket instead of before.
Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Sonic and Shadow's genuinely terrified expressions at 7:15 up until the end is something we would all agree with if we were in the same scenario ngl Anyway great job on this banger animation 👌 👏
I never get tired of watching "Mecha Sonic vs Axem Rangers X" animations, and here's another one for the collection XD And it was brutal!! It has been the most dynamic and has included the most elements to date.
Oh Metallix had Pink dead to rights at 5:00, but he did it slowly just to make sure Red saw it happen. What would have been better to show Metallix was a monster was pink screaming as he did to drive in the psychological horror that Red is going to perish and exemplify how powerless he was by watching Pink die like that and snapped the axe in two to even further make it clear that he doesn't need it to end him.
@ShadowWolf2023-yp5zg Technically, the Smithy Gang aren't robots. They're some kind of metallic lifeforms that can either feel emotions or simulate them so perfectly that there's really no fundamental difference: Bowyer takes pride in his work, Yaridovich is a brown-nosing narcissist, they can definitely get angry judging by how Axem Red and Smithy react to you beating their first forms, they can worry, crack jokes, feel pain, and according to Axem Yellow, they can even eat. So yeah, the Axem Rangers could definitely fear for their lives in a situation like this.
That was.... INCREDIBLE recreation of this episode scene. This one is better than the original version. You're doing a great potential for making animations and battle choreography.
Hello. I just wanna say thank you for remaking this fight scene from SMBZ Episode 6. The present meant to give all for our legendary Toriyama who did everything to inspire us for creating this popular anime franchise. Mark will also be proud of what did you spar on reimagining this in your style a little and so do I. Good luck on celebrating 10 years anniversary of this episode and have good day! ❤
This is a perfect tribute to the original SMBZ creator Mark Haynes (Alvin Earthworm), and the original DBZ creator Akira Toriyama (RIP). Both created their own iconic series that inspired many generations around the world. Watching this take of yours, I have no words to describe but was full of awe. Mark and Toriyama will be very proud of you, Kirb-Crew. Well done! And Happy 17th Anniversary to the 6th episode of SMBZ!
You’ve outdone yourself with this, Kirb Crew. Everything from the new dialogue and the added fight scenes were done very well. You definitely know how to make Metallix feel like a threat. Amazing work. I look forward to seeing what you have in store for your series with episode 2 when it’s ready later.
I love how this entire fight has two perspectives to it; two very drastically different perspectives. You have the Axem Rangers' perspective. The music is intense. This is an ultimate FIGHT. EVERYTHING IS INTENSE!!! The music and noises all play together for an intense, breakneck, action-filled battle for their lives. and everything is dead silent to Metallix when he has enough and finishes it all. When he ripped pink in half the music stopped; everything halted. He was like a pre-school bully who just broke somebody's 'super epik action figure' at play time. Even breaks the action figure's super-epic-weapon...and then still, silence as he just walks to Red tired of his yapping. He's a bully, through and through.
What the!? This is a super well made, MUCH needed refresher that scene needed. You're S Class in sprite animating. I'd love to see the second half of this fight.
Bro this animation is fucking insane and so well made. From the fight sequence to the sound design, everything about this animation is peak. You sir have talent and earned a sub from me.
This gets the style of the reboot’s animation, dialogue, and fight choreography down right to where it feels official. It’s a great interpretation of how episode 6 would play out in the reboot series. I love how it fuses both the brutality found in the original fight scene and the fight scenes that we currently have in the reboot series (especially the one between Metallix and Yoshi) into one combined entity. The reference to the Sephiroth reveal trailer scenario from Smash Ultimate completely went over my head the first time I watched this. It was only until I looked into the comments section did I notice there was a reference there.
Very Impressive! The camera movement, effects and animation were all beautiful! I absolutely love how you added more to the story than the original! This definitely feels like something out of the official reboot!
The choreography and sound design is absolutely stellar. And the character writing is immaculate! The added sadism and malice in Metallix, the sheer unadulterated MENACE, is EVERYTHING I want and more. You’ve outdone yourself!
I love how, although the fight is slowed down massively, it is far more gruesome. The death of each Axem Ranger gives me time to watch them die a painful death, and that makes Metallix feel far menacing. Sure, in the original, he may have cleaved through each one like nothing, with Yellow’s specifically hitting the hardest, but in this, each death is significant and gruel
I’ve watched this video many a time now and I love how it’s faithful to the original battle but also adds to it. Like how visceral and barbaric Mettalix gets when he takes apart each of the rangers. Just getting TOUCHED by Yellow’s axe just makes Metallix go berserk to where he makes Yellow die painfully as possible for daring to touch him. And each subsequent kill gets more and more gruesome until Red is cowardly trying to fire his laser before eating a Raging Demon into a Kamehameha. Glorious. Chef’s kiss.
This is some real nostalgia moment,i love the fact you added a few extras to the fights and a few references on other medias Mecha was already a treat,Metallix in this case is a REAL danger!
Fantastic Work to everyone involved! This was amazing, feels the closest we've ever been to an official remake of Episode 6. Especially love that you went with Mecha's new design too. The original is still great, but the new design is cool in it's own way and I'm always happy when fans give it some love. All in all, fantastic work! Looking forward to more projects from this team.
The way that all of the expressions made this absolute massacre even more destructive just makes me wish the series could have had its conclusion it deserved. Yellow's death felt so more visceral and it just painted a picture of just how out of their league the Rangers were in facing Metallix
Whoa and wow… 🤩 I’m impressed! And Thank God Luigi survived the blast of that Proton Cannon when he hid in his Blue Shell, I thought the poor guy was gonna get toast. But anyways this new animation video was badass!
WHERE HE AT? WHERE HE AT? WHERE HE AT? WHERE HE AT? NOW THERE HE GO! THERE HE GO! THERE HE GO! THERE HE GO! PEANUT BUTTER JELLY! PEANUT BUTTER JELLY! PEANUT BUTTER JELLY! PEANUT BUTTER JELLY!
- The new Metallix design and its sound effects - The use of 2D background to make it look is 3D - The improved text boxes - The callback to Episode 3 with Metallix remembering Yoshi's defeat - 9000 memes never get old (although I saw a TFS version in another video, I believe Alvin will do it when the time comes) - The smooth movements and close shots - Chief Yoshi design matching the rest of the Yoshi Tribe, more fitting to his character. - The visual jokes while still maintaining the seriousness of the situation. - Axem Pink looking nervous when not being able to locate Semi Super Metallix - The battle taking place between air and ground, more dynamic and for better use from those watching on the sidelines. - Beam Sword... perfection for a one time use. - Justifying even further Metallix anger towards Axem Yellow because he hit him, TWICE in this version. - The Axem Rangers questioning Red to fight a battle it was already lost from the very beginning. - The brutality of their deaths, also the order change being unique and still devastating, clever to make Red see how Pink already sliced to death, is pulled apart with his own strenght. - The lighting & shading effects, delightfull in every single detail. Yes, this could be part of the Reboot episode without any doubts. The only thing Alvin would add is hand drawn shots of it like he always did throughout the series, as well as new references here and there.
Rest easy Toriyama and thank you for inspiring us all and giving us all amazing childhood memories your legacy will live on. This is not only an amazing tribute to Toriyama but the original Super Smash Bros Z bravo 👏
Dear lord. The fluid animation. The updated dialogue. The casual yet brutal way Metallix fights. It's all so perfect. Outside of the original video? I think this is my new favorite interpretation of this lovely scene. Excellent job to you all
of all the different animations i've seen with Metallix fighting the Axem Rangers X, boy did this animation make the fight that much more brutal, which is something I love seeing when it comes to animations of this fight in particular. this is the best animation i've seen thus far, and it's my favorite.
Damn that was awesome. I could imagine when the actual episode six comes out he will say something like that when he sees Yoshi and the fact that shadow actually went by Luigi was actually heart touching.
DAMN LIKE I SWEAR WHO THOUGH THIS ROBOT IS BUILT WITH ALL DOMINANCE IN HIM ALSO THE SWORD HE CAN SUMMON GOT ME SO NEWED FOR HOW YOU REANIMATED THIS FAMOUS PART LIKE I MEAN IF HES THATS STRONG WHAT CAN STOP HIM! Correct Answer Is Probably:…….. ANSWER: NOTHING……maybe……
Wow this was incredible. It truly felt like part of the reboot series. I am truly impressed with your hard work friend. Hope you do more from this series. I still have hope that Mark may continue the reboot in due time.
Luigi really just stood there and tanked that blast... I really like the new additions to this scene! Metallix addressing Yoshi and the additional dialogue from Sonic was great!
Just gonna timestamp my favorite parts 5:07 ...I'd say I've never sh!t my pants this hard at something but the scene this is referencing did exactly that... and you somehow matched how brutal MX ripping GF apart is without gore and only wires that are SQUARES 6:237:15 the detail of the 5 dodging out the way of the laser is already good but showing us how they react afterwards is just... perfect
5:07 That is a crazy cool shot. The red eyes in the shadow and how you animated the ripping itself, immaculate. I’ve only recently started to come around on Metallix (I know, you don’t have to tell me) but yeah, he’s awesome. Those rangers thought they had the sauce and they got absolutely demolished. Phenomenal animation, 10/10. Also, have a nice day. 🙂
Dude for someone who has watched this a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago, i must say the timestamp 5:07 is my absolute favourite moment of this fan-animation. Good job man good job. Also didn't knew there are people still watching or making SMBZ stuff.. Man thanks for that cool animation!
I wonder what the plan is/was for Metallix with all seven given the original Metallix design was for that, and a Golden Metallix would presumably be used here. Very nice to see fan-animations specifically expanding off of the reboot, what with the new design, new weaponry, and slightly new dialogue. Truly the Mario Brothers Z community will never die. Axem are certainly more durable in this rendition, gluttons for punishment.
The dedication of this animation from the SMBZ animation is stellar, and this animation goes so super hard i love all of it! Except one part and half on another part, on Axem Ranger Black and Green kills were good but kinda clunky, maybe if they showed fear on both of them (cause their robots) would make it more impactful cause of what they’re experiencing at the moment. And same goes with pink and red cause they see each other one last time but other then that, everything about all of it was soo amazing! I kinda wanna see more of how y’all animate your own stuff!

Even breaks the action figure's super-epic-weapon...and then still, silence as he just walks to Red tired of his yapping.
He's a bully, through and through.
I love the smash bros sound effects and fighting animation you made this animation amazing I bet mark haynes and spacepea would be so proud of you
4:55 Super Metallix: Don't think I didn't even see you!
What the!? This is a super well made, MUCH needed refresher that scene needed. You're S Class in sprite animating. I'd love to see the second half of this fight.
Bro, this is crazy good. It feels like a cilp from the reboot, and I hope we can see more people doing this.
Said this to you before, and I'll gladly say it again.
You got skill my friend, and plenty of it. This was amazing from start to finish!
I like how Sonic, Mario, and Luigi speechless and Yoshi is scared and shadow is speechless unlike in the original 7:17
this has to be the best reanimated scene ever!
Mark Haynes will be proud of you dude
Bro this animation is fucking insane and so well made. From the fight sequence to the sound design, everything about this animation is peak. You sir have talent and earned a sub from me.
This is exactly how I would see Mark do it... the amount of times my jaw dropped is crazy.

amazing animation Kirb crew, I really love this

This is some real nostalgia moment,i love the fact you added a few extras to the fights and a few references on other medias
Mecha was already a treat,Metallix in this case is a REAL danger!
We are watching a master at work. Bravo! Been feeling nostalgic lately and this is exactly what I needed
The way that all of the expressions made this absolute massacre even more destructive just makes me wish the series could have had its conclusion it deserved. Yellow's death felt so more visceral and it just painted a picture of just how out of their league the Rangers were in facing Metallix
I like how Metallix was styling on Axem Red by moonwalking his attacks.
You've made Metallix more brutal than ever. Great Scott, such a terrifying villain, I LOVE IT!
2:44 Mecha Sonic/Metallix's favorite one line.
Cooler must be angry rn
This is easily the top 3 remakes of this epic fight of all time.
Whoa and wow… 🤩 I’m impressed! And Thank God Luigi survived the blast of that Proton Cannon when he hid in his Blue Shell, I thought the poor guy was gonna get toast. But anyways this new animation video was badass!

You forgot one key thing:
"I LIKE CEREAL!"
- The new Metallix design and its sound effects
- The use of 2D background to make it look is 3D
- The improved text boxes
- The callback to Episode 3 with Metallix remembering Yoshi's defeat
- 9000 memes never get old (although I saw a TFS version in another video, I believe Alvin will do it when the time comes)
- The smooth movements and close shots
- Chief Yoshi design matching the rest of the Yoshi Tribe, more fitting to his character.
- The visual jokes while still maintaining the seriousness of the situation.
- Axem Pink looking nervous when not being able to locate Semi Super Metallix
- The battle taking place between air and ground, more dynamic and for better use from those watching on the sidelines.
Oh man, these sprite battles bring back memories and now I feel old🤦🏿♂️
This was crazy and awesome sprite battle between Semi-Super Metallix and The Axem Rangers X
I’ve reacted to this sprite battle
3:01 Freaking Moonwalking on them 😂😂😂
XD
I swear, if I ever have children, I'm introducing them to SMBZ. Plain and simple.
Rest easy Toriyama and thank you for inspiring us all and giving us all amazing childhood memories your legacy will live on. This is not only an amazing tribute to Toriyama but the original Super Smash Bros Z bravo 👏
the og was scary enough but this one.... metallix took his time with them for sure
Man this was great. I legit thought it was official and Mark had a new channel. Keep up the good work 👏 👍
Dear lord. The fluid animation. The updated dialogue. The casual yet brutal way Metallix fights. It's all so perfect.
Outside of the original video? I think this is my new favorite interpretation of this lovely scene. Excellent job to you all
Oh my lord, this is so gas... AMAZING work!
This was a very well done animation, I hope Mark Haynes sees this.
Well that was just freaking superb. Love the added detail of the foley, right down to hand movements on the other characters.
This is the best we'll see of this until when the actual official one releases... Also amazing work on this like goddamn that was good.
In terms of style, choreography, pacing, humor, etc. I’m honestly expecting the (hopefully) new Episode 6 to end up a lot like this.
Amazing work.
This was amazing, I like how Semi Super Metallix destroyed the Axem Rangers X. The remake of this fight was fantastic. :)
of all the different animations i've seen with Metallix fighting the Axem Rangers X, boy did this animation make the fight that much more brutal, which is something I love seeing when it comes to animations of this fight in particular. this is the best animation i've seen thus far, and it's my favorite.
Dude this is the best remake of this scene EVER!!!
Sprite animation goes CRAZY!
I also liked you gave the Rangers more personality and made all the deaths really brutal
Damn that was awesome. I could imagine when the actual episode six comes out he will say something like that when he sees Yoshi and the fact that shadow actually went by Luigi was actually heart touching.
2:32 okay Gauss' Redline is a REALLY good sound effect for a machine preparing to go ballistic god damn
Oh that is redline!!! I don’t play Gauss too often so I had to do a double take
The perspectives, references, and animation style is just so reminiscent of the original remakes style! Amazing job, you just got a new sub.
Genuinly thought this was a reboot scene, this is sooo good! You can also see how its made 1:1 with the original, with a much better animation. 10/10
Like Berserk we'll all be dead before that or SMBZ get finished, but at least you guys brought this iconic scene to remake level format. Awesome work.
Luigi really just stood there and tanked that blast...
I really like the new additions to this scene! Metallix addressing Yoshi and the additional dialogue from Sonic was great!
Wow what a remake!!
You did such a good job
Just gonna timestamp my favorite parts
5:07 ...I'd say I've never sh!t my pants this hard at something but the scene this is referencing did exactly that... and you somehow matched how brutal MX ripping GF apart is without gore and only wires that are SQUARES
6:23 7:15 the detail of the 5 dodging out the way of the laser is already good but showing us how they react afterwards is just...
Damn, this is more intense than the original fight! O_O
Now THAT'S what I call an animation. Alvin Earthworm got some competition.
I wouldn't call it "competition." He's definitely got his attention, but I think in a more positive light.
The way he just BRUTALIZES them is horrifying.
This is like when an Anime is not finished yet and the fans decide to anime the manga by themselves. Increible work! I love it
5:02 That is such a Juggernaut thing to say! Hahaha-AAAAAAH! OH MY GOD! Oh, my God! I can't feel my legs.
6:45 this feels like an ultimate attack of an already op character in a fighting game
