11:09 hands down is the most well animated part. The dash aura cycle, the boosters, the character model is sharp and the flame highlights on his quills. Then in the second phase, his interpretation on depth of field leading into the dash. This guy is awesome!
It really set the tone for the utter shift the battle would have once he arrived. The conflict stopped being goofy brawl, and became a struggle for survival.

16:33 Was absolutely PERFECT! Because Luigi showcased EXACTLY what the entire audience was feeling. In just that one frame of expression. Mark really was equally as good of a story writer as well as an animator. Really wish I could have seen his writing in other forms of media as I grew up.
The way Pink cried at 14:44 in her last moments really made me feel sorry for her. There's a lot of dynamic emotion throughout this Reanimation. Great work to everyone involved!
In terms of that scene, I actually prefer the much more sudden original. It fits the scene much more, since 1) it adds to the shock value of Mecha effortlessly succeeding in seconds where it took our heroes 2 half episodes to not even come close to that, whereas now it feels less like "holy crap, what just happened" and more like "oh, so he will die now" and 2) Mecha Sonic is meant to be flexing during that sequence and that is kinda contradicted when we see him put progressively more effort at killing Yellow. A similar feeling is when we compare the effort Mecha puts to destroy Green's corpse in this when compared to how non-chalantly he destroyed Green's head in the original.

This year on RUclips people are a lot more creative than last year where videos were made out of boredom and were even stated that in their descriptions.
It was such an honor to host and participate in a collab like this based on one of my favorite animations of all time. This was the first collab I was ever apart of, and I grew as a person, met new friends, and improved my animation skills and took it more seriously. Compared to the first scene I did for the collab (Scene 5 of the opening), and scene 119, I have grown to be a decent animator and I'm glad to do more animations in the future. I remember being a kid, and dont understand one word of english, randomly checking out the web and found the original SMBZ on a flash game page. I didnt know what the characters were saying but i really love this when i was a kid, and i still do it. I remember being afraid of Mecha Sonic, just seeing him killing everyone, he was my favorite villain. It was amazing seeing this, and now, checking that old dusty computer i used to use years ago i found the page and the SMBZ series. And it was amazing, i watched it all here on YT and seeing a reanimated version, made me almost cry, its amazing that this masterpiece its still present until now almost 2022. And now with the reboot of this, man. Amazing work, SMBZ was my full childhood.

I don't get why everyone always wants to remaster Earthworms legacy, but no person or group ever dared to continue on it. But this project gives hope. There is some astounding animation displayed here and a big respect for what the OG Animator created.♥️
Animation and storytelling are two different skills, not many people can do both. The people who could animate but not tell a story didnt continue after remastering because they knew that they couldnt continue a story as great as Earthworms. Those that could tell a story werent able to animate a continuation.
It was also Haynes' wish that no one continue it as tempting as the prospect was so that they didn't feel pressured anymore. They want to tell the story themselves until they decide they are ready to let it go.
Jesus christ, I just realized two of the koopa bros were still conscious as they were dying in this version. And their last action was trying to crawl to each other. That's dark as hell!

I agree. It makes more sense with the way they all fell and the way they recovered at the end and it offers a much more captivating visual while also giving even more of a sense of them being in danger and a sense of them managing to recover through their own efforts, instead of them just so happening to managing to land on a semi-safe position and holding it for the entirety of the sequence.
I'm now sure how you guys did it but you made Mecha Sonic MORE brutal and MORE disrespectful. Like this dude was scary before but you just had to up it more. Freaking love it!

Animation and storytelling are two different skills, not many people can do both. The people who could animate but not tell a story didnt continue after remastering because they knew that they couldnt continue a story as great as Earthworms. Those that could tell a story werent able to animate a continuation.

It was also Haynes' wish that no one continue it as tempting as the prospect was so that they didn't feel pressured anymore. They want to tell the story themselves until they decide they are ready to let it go.

I gotta say, I like what this animator did way more than the totem pole in the original.
I agree. It makes more sense with the way they all fell and the way they recovered at the end and it offers a much more captivating visual while also giving even more of a sense of them being in danger and a sense of them managing to recover through their own efforts, instead of them just so happening to managing to land on a semi-safe position and holding it for the entirety of the sequence.
