      It is illegal in Florida to transport invasive species, even from one part of a spillway to another. I am sure they work though!

    • @wills2397
      @wills2397 5 лет назад

      RegularSize Russ I didn’t say anything about transporting. Look up the law, you can use bluegill as bait as long as it’s caught on rod and reel or rod and line. You can’t cast net for bluegill. So if he catches bluegill at the spillway, he can use them as bait

    • @regularsizeruss3874
      @regularsizeruss3874 5 лет назад

      @@wills2397 Please re-read my comment, I didn't say anything about Bluegill. Bluegill are native to the waters you are fishing, Cichlids are NOT. The act of carrying Cichlids down the bank to use them for bait is considered "transport". I am just trying to save you some hassle.

    • @regularsizeruss3874
      @regularsizeruss3874 5 лет назад

      @@wills2397 A quick glance at the regulations told me that the use of any non-native, non-game fish as bait, is prohibited. Any caught must be killed and disposed of immediately. No exceptions. It is especially important to follow these regs in Florida, so many invasives have thrived there-from Lionfish to Pythons, to the great detriment of native species.

When I caught my pb bowfin (10.41lbs) I got it in the net by myself and I set the rod down but it started spinning rapidly and literally drilled through my net and dragged my rod over the side and barely aught the rod and landed the fish by hand
