the 2 people who put thumbs down on this video - could you please come out and say why? I'm really lost here, seems like a very helpful video.... Thank you in advance!
Great information on these two mangos. And I want to ask you if you have tried golden nugget jackfruit. If you have tried it was it ok tasting. Have a good day. Thanks
I have a Julie and it has not produce any mangos. Had it for 9 years and it has disease. Someone told me to get a "super Julie." What's the difference? How did super Julie come about? Most importantly is super Julie disease resistant? I don't know how to treat my diseased Julie. Thinking on getting a super Julie. Answer to my question would be appreciated. Ty.
Super Julie is vigorous in growth, it is more productive compared to Julie. The fruit size in Super Julie is bigger. Taste is subjective, i like Julie more but you have to try both and decide for yourself. Our Super Julie does seem to have better disease resistance. Julie grows compact and you will need to prune the center to allow air flow to avoid anthracnose. But there are many other mango diseases so cant say until i see the tree or leaves- you can ask the question with pictures of the leaves and the tree in the tropical fruit forum -topic- mango pests and diseases.
Now I know the difference between them. Now I will add a Super Julie, Coconut Cream, Lemon Meringue and a Keitt or Kent to my collection. I was hesitant to add Super Julie. My little dwarf Julie is not a prolific grower. I only have 12 planted mango trees. I'm in S Florida also. I do want to Cap out at 24 mango trees because I need to add other fruits. . I'm here looking for additional varieties to add. I have Nam Doc Mai, East Indian and others. What can you recommend. I need some that are prolific growers and disease resistant.
Mallika, Neelam and Fairchild - very disease resistant. O-15 is very good as well, big colorful fruit, spicy sweet flavor, good vigor tree and disease resistant.
Good comparison. You're Julie tree looks healthy and gave you some nice fruit. Just curious, do you think it thrives on the dryer environment? You here a lot of people say it has all kinds of problems growing here.
Yes i had heard about the problems as well, not flowering, flowers getting fungus and powdery mildew etc, but we wanted to establish a compact mango area so gave a shot and planted it..it is in the most elevated area of garden and has zero irrigation so you may be right about it thriving on dryer area. The tree is by the river so gets nice breeze. This year being dry in winter we had no anthracnose so we will see how it performs next year.
There is not much, it’s a super easy project. 4 Cattle panels from Tractor Supply store, 3ft anchors with holes for tying, weather resistant (UV resistant) zip ties and shou sugi ban treated cedar wood for decoration and stability
Yes, very easy. Julie is a slow grower, grows into a dwarf compact bushy tree and Super Julie grows fast into a big tree. If you see leaves and branches, Julie has short internodes and Super Julie long internodes.
I like a good flavour but not overly sweet. I like a mix of sweet with an underlying slight tartness. I have a couple Julies. I think I will get a super Julie if it is a more productive variety. Also why on earth do you say coconut flavour in Julie? I've been eating Julie for 5 decades and found no coconut like taste in the flavour. I dunno, but you convinced me to plant the super Julie.
They use paper bags in India. And have done a lot of research on fruit color and quality with and without paper bag. Aluminum foil needs to be researched too. May be TREC in Homestead could do a research like this.
@@growpuravida Cool. Aluminum Foil works awesome in Phoenix which gets to 118F & is very dry. Not sure if could create a problem in a wet environment, especially is salt mist in the air, like near a beach.

Did you plant from seed? Ir is usually better to plant a grafted mango get a quicker yield. It takes a very long time when planted from seed.
making me so damn hungry eating that Julie bro. STOP IT!

Man, can you provide a material list for your passionfruit trellis?

@@growpuravida cool, thx for your reply.
I have a julie planted in the ground. It is growing super slow.
It’s a dwarf and a very slow grower, ours produced at 3 ft tall so yours will, too! It gave around 20 fruit first time around
Boath different mengo.?
If you watch the video you will get the very detailed answer to that
Are the two different varieties?( juli, Super juli)
Yes 😊, tree vigor, fruit size, color, taste all different. But i like Julie equally so for me Super Julie is not superior to Julie in taste.
@@growpuravida How to identify mango trees of this variety? Is there a way to identify them by looking at the leaves? From India 🇮🇳
Pl reply

@@growpuravida Where can I get grafting mango seedlings of this variety in India?pl help
At the moment only in Florida, but maybe soon you will be able to find in India, too

why not use aluminum foil umbrella on fruit to let ripen slow & even.
