Grow Pura Vida! (Tropical Fruit Fanatics)
США
Добавлен 15 сен 2015
Grow Pura Vida, previously Osho Bodhisattva Meditation Garden, is a tropical fruit and gardening/farming project that spans from South Florida (10b) to Southern Costa Rica (Perez Zeledon area). We promote organic and biodynamic farming and gardening practices, microbial soil and gut health (they are very similar in nature!), growing your own food, listening to the plants' needs instead of imposing our needs on them, biological pest and weed controls rather than chemical controls, and living in accordance with natural cycles. We do lots of rare fruit tastings and tastings of improved non-GMO varieties of fruits that have outstanding characteristics in comparison with common or commercially grown fruit. We promote and enjoy special, rare flavors and farms with fruit diversity (as opposed to monoculture) and farmers who strive for better taste, not bigger size and volumes. Mango fanatics, we do lots of mango & rare fruit tastings for the channel.

Hola, ustedes venden el producto.
Great fruit tasting Satya. Happy new year
Happy new year!!! 🎊 thank you so much for your support
The fruit you have looks a bit small, maybe it was picked a little too early. They also have ones that are freestone.
It fell into my hand in this video :) ruclips.net/video/0sV9R7dLbP8/видео.html&ab_channel=GrowPuraVida%21%28TropicalFruitFanatics%29 The tree didn’t look very healthy so maybe it dropped the fruit to preserve its energy?
I think this particular fruit wasn't ripe enough. It should separate from the seed easily.
It fell into my hand, so i assumed the ripeness :) would really like to taste the ripe one!
in hawaii we have them. it tastes like apricot/slightly underripe peach mixed with li hing powder
What is your favorite guava variety now?
Allahbadi white has always been very good every time i tried. It does not have the aroma that Barbie pink has, Barbie pink has a strawberry flavor to it, but Allahbadi is sweeter. I like them both over all the other guava varieties i have tried.
I would like to visit your facility. I live in Aventura Florida. How to I get in touch?
We are developing the land in Costa Rica now, see our latest videos… the garden is open to visitors twice a year during our plant sales; those times are announced on Tropical Fruit Forum and our social media, if you want to visit you can catch us during those days.
Neat tree. Interesting to see all the varieties Mr. Carlos has. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed the video!
Such a kind soul Mr. Don Carlos, to share his knowledge, fruit and friendship with you. He has an amazing farm that is a treat to experience.
Hi, Do you have Bangkok Lemon jackfruit tree available? I'm in Orlando/Kissimmee area. thanks
Might have one left; i will be able to check in about a week
@@growpuravida thank you..
Indians mangoes Grow in Favourable climate for Anthracnose they're adapted to it.
Great tour. I'm looking forward to part 2.
I would love to buy some Garcinia parvifolia ( Brunei )seeds please.
You can inquire on Tropical Fruit Forum or check local rare fruit nurseries
Very cool Satya! Hope you and your wife have a great Christmas!
Donde lo consigo?
Viveros
try Panduri Mango once.
Satya, someone on Tropical Fruit Forum mentioned that you might have some seeds of the Pouteria hypoglauca. Please let me know. Thank you.
Not at the moment, sorry. Maybe in the future i will.
Which is your favourite guava variety, the tastiest?
I really like Allahabadi guava and Barbie Pink, they are completely different flavor wise but both have their uniqueness. I haven’t tasted Mexican varieties, will try to do that too, i heard lots of good things about them.
Im in Florida,i have terrible problems with papaya wasp
Bagging is the only viable solution we came up to after reviewing different options… for organic growing
You have made my nt on grafting, thank you
That's the same way I used to do, thank you so much for your advice ❤
Thank you for this review. It's helping me to make up my mind about Pataxte.
This fruit has been described in contrasting ways and I can't figure out if it's just people's different sensibilities or different cultivars or different stages of ripeness. Anyway, I finally planted three seedlings this year and now that I've watched your video, I really hope at least one of them fruits someday. It sounds like a a wonderfully complex fruit. Perhaps that's why people notice widely different aspects of it. Fascinating! I will look for your video about growing the tree. Thanks!
Thanks Nef! This fruit is probably not so popular because in fully ripe stage it becomes mushy and the flavor changes a lot! When it is in the stage of ripeness right like in the video (slightly underripe), it’s fantastic, juicy, tiny bit acidic but very well balanced with sugar and flavors. One extra day on the counter and nothing of the excellent flavor remains, it becomes like a bad apple basically and even more mushy. I love this fruit, but when it gets too overripe it’s almost impossible to eat.
Cómo se debe consumir?
I’m impressed by this fruit. Thank you so mych for sharing! I didn’t know it existed and if some day, you do white chocolate with this or find someone it does. Please share a video 🙏 I’m super interested! Cheers, Gonzalo from Canada 🇨🇦
Congrats 👏👏👏😊Wow healthy plant! I ❤ flying fox fruits . I’ve got many plants from Adam. If you never had Jabuticaba you’re in for a treat. I’m buying one grafted as we speak I’m super excited 😊
Do u sell its cutting ? I would love to buy.
Not at the moment
I really enjoy your reviews. I appreciate how much time you take vs others who seem to respond too quick and are less complete. I can tell you enjoy eating the fruit vs just growing it. Keep it up!
Thank you for your kind words, it means a lot! 🙏
Very interesting info about Pataste, thank you :)
You’re welcome! 😊
Great video. thank you.
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it!
Would you ship to North Carolina we like to eat
Sorry, it’s virtually impossible to ship fruit from Costa Rica on a private non-commercial basis - the bureaucracy is extremely difficult
Thank you so much for this information. The concrete pavers was truly a genius move! Kudos all around to you guys.
Thank you for your kind feedback! 🙏 it’s quite impressive to see them hold together for so long))
You need in Colombia to keep up with the gorgeous local ladies...😂❤🎉
Haha
Borojó...not Borojo
Yes, watch the Spanish version of this video. I don’t think original spelling is preserved when translated into English.
You must have to have Sindhri mango
Very slow grower here. On my list, thank you.
Very cool Satya!

planing a similar project in Los Reyes Pérez Zeledón - also about 1200 meters elevation - would love to exchange ideas and seeds - I do have cows too - where are you located?
1200 is too high for mangoes but may be very good for oily avocados like Hass, and other mountain species of fruit and berries. I started a local exchange group on Facebook, haven’t advertised it yet - building a house and work takes up so much time… will post the link in a little bit. I got several local farmers request to connect, hope we can have a nice network of growers here
facebook.com/groups/perezplants/ - please join and ask your local friends to join!
Pura Vida
Where are you location
I want to plant a variety do you sell plants
who sells the seed?
You can try asking on Tropical fruit forum
Looking like a small mangosteen. Can be growed in South India, on 900 meters elevation?
I don’t see why not!
If the temperature doesn't drop below +10C and it's not too dry, it'll be fine. They prefer acidic soils (they don't like limestone)
South India doesn’t have freezes, the lowest it goes zone wise is subtropical so you would be fine. Brunei cherry is more forgiving with soils than jaboticabas, can thrive in neutral pH also.
Nice! Sounds promising to grow in Florida. Looks like something I'd love to try.
yes, I think Floridians should get more aware of this species! It's really nice tasting, productive and ornamental looking.
Masha Allah the video was very informative. I recently started grafting, which I learned from this is that the cambium of scion and rootstock should be in line with each other. Thanks for the information.
Very happy you found it helpful! Happy grafting!
We have a similar fruit in Borneo. They are smaller but equally delicious - oily, slightly sourish and soften in hot water for a few minutes before eating.
Wow great to have a viewer from Borneo! We plant lots of fruit from the seeds of your beautiful land. Do you know the name of that fruit? Local or proper?
Interesting. Perhaps you filmed the opening and tasting to share later?
Yes, coming next week!
I actually didn’t save the tasting video, sorry! I think because the flesh flavor was quite mediocre- just tasted like an unripe melon. I planted the tree for the seeds though. The fact that it’s not susceptible to local cacao viruses makes it valuable.
@@growpuravida Good to know. Bad tasting work just as well as good tastings, just sayin. It's content that is informational. It is all good. Happy Holidays.
Lol found the tasting! 🤪Sorry for the confusion:))) Will post it next ;)
Wonderful Sir. Nice to learn new rare unique mango varieties and taste etc. Thanks. Keep it up. You look like Indian. God bless. Welcome and heartiest regards. 👌👍❤️🙏🙏
I am from Nepal
I’m growing about 30 salak palms in south central Florida, all from seeds, it’s not easy, I lost a few. It gets too cold and dry here.. What area are you in?
Each video has a location under it, different farms in different places around South Florida and Southern Costa Rica.
