Me personally as a musician and as a man, I don’t even pay attention to critics at all don’t care what they have to say. Don’t care what they think and as soon as they realize that right away, they feel stupid and walk off because they’re literally talking to themselves. Real talk.

Only criticism I part attention to is constructive criticism. I know I’m not above criticism and I welcome it so that I can become better. But I’m not about to let someone tear me down.

Constructive criticism, yes, but Criticism from envy or just for a reaction no don't care that doesn't matter. You look at it the right way, and if every Musician/artist would look at it that way, they would be so much better.

ive been criticized a lot as a bassist and it used to bother me. then i realized that the definition of a bassist has changed and goes back and forth constantly. now i ask, what are you expecting me to do or what notes do/should i play? most of the time they want their buddy to do what im doing or they want me to play like victor wooten or someone like that. Even victor wooten has said 90% of what he does is bass and no solos. always consider the source the criticism comes from. most, if not all the time, the ones doing the criticism dont really know what they want and tend be fairly insecure themselves.

Yep! You have to have a growth mindset. This path ain’t for the weak or faint hearted. It’s a process.

As an aspiring musician myself, I tend to be my biggest critic and this is the one I'm currently working on.

When you mentioned Joe, the guy who phoned and told you that you shouldn’t do the Music Director gig, the first thing I thought was “he wants that gig for himself”.

"...Hey bro! What are you doing?..." is not adequate feedback for playing in the wrong key. Communication is a 2 way street.

Sorry, I can't concentrate on what you are saying. You are saying good stuff, It is just the background music is kicking in my analytical mind in two different directions. One cannot serve two masters :) With love.

It’s hard for me to remove emotion because for so long I’ve been numb to things around me…so the one thing I really do care about and to hear somebody tell me they don’t like something really isn’t okay…idk how to get out of this

Keep Surrounding yourself with positive and optimistic minded people or even content creators like this guy. You with your talent and passion will succeed with determination and great execution, but you also have to learn how to have patience with yourself aswell. You got this stay uplifted👍🏼🤘🏼

i write this with the best intentions, but talent could be the worst enemy of progress. it's like coming from money and starting a business, it's definitely a lot easier with the capital at hand, but it only gets you so far, if you don't put in the hard work it's eventually gonna fail.
