Thanks for explaining how much backlash you should have between your pinion and spur gear I'm sure that will save a lot of headaches down the road for quite a few people if they do it correctly
Got one like that a few years back... still "blings" :P I moved the batery tray to the front and put rx box at the rear! I have it on a Hard Mercedes G Body!

Well my factory plastic axial wraith cost $600.... So $500 for medal, carbon fiber, and all electronics... That's cheap...

I bought another one of these last week it showed up this morning I actually like em. I also bought the integy one and I bought the cheap injora one with the front motor trans ect for 120 bucks on Amazon. And honestly if you use the right electronics and wheels n tires and shocks they work actually quite well
Is there a way to put portal hubs on this chassis without having to change the whole axles?
It looks like the end of the shafts are removable, and could
theoretically be swapped for portal ones. 🤔
Best mod for this chassis is to flip the front hubs to lower the steering link, drill the hub carriers so you can rotate them back to give a decent amount of caster angle. This will raise the steering arm close to the servo horn and give as much caster angle as a TRX4. This has none stock and the front wheels scrub bad! Also remove every screw and locktite it or you'll constantly have things falling off.. also grease the diffs and gearbox they ship dry. As do the shocks.. they also suffer from stiction so you need to remove a seal from the lower shock cap, they wont leak with one seal. Mine didnt have a friction disc in the slipper clutch either. Sort that lot and then drive it.

Need to get a new servo for my TRX 4 sport, so I think I'm going to give that servo a try.Waiting on my WL 144001 that I ordered on Thanksgiving. Pumped for that!
Would love to see this upgraded to 4 wheel steering. Is it worth building over buying a redcat and upgrading a bunch of parts?

Hi Kev, when do you think you will be testing this? Looking to get back into Rc's. After about a 20 year break. Thinking of getting the trx4 sport to get me going they always seem to get good reviews.
I have one of these , I have the Jeep Cherokee hard body from same maker one it , I let my kids run it. It’s not to bad for how much I could set it up for . I did notice some of the screws strip easier then typical but not to shabby all in all
Very interested to see more on this crawler. You have a bunch of the C10 body's go with an old school Ford body now, change things up a bit.

I got this same kit. I would love to mount a pan hard bar for the servo. I have one but no idea how to mount it and the videos I’ve seen really doesn’t help much. Do you know how to mount a pan hard?
get the Pro-Line 78 (I think that is the year) K10 Step Side 2 piece body. its one of my personal favorites and if you aren't a fan of the square body style you could always run the stepside bed on the C10 cab. I got the stepside bed mounted to my now discontinued Pro Line trail honcho 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Cab and absolutely love it!
I was just curious how come you never buy or use Losi or red cat or anything like that? Is it price or just don’t like them? All I have is Arrma and Traxxas but I was just wondering
What kind of loctite do you use? If you use the super strong stuff on your pinions than if you break one you can’t get it off.

The frame itself is $585 CDN. If you want to add that cost to your car, more power to you but not all of us want to spend that kind of dough. I mean, literally I spent $700 on a 2006 Ford F150 4 x 4 crew cab 3 years ago.

Kevin, when to put loctite and when not to? So, you put it on a bumper, but not on the belly screws. Also, no oil on pinion gear? I am just curious and want to learn more. Tnx

I only have hardbodys on mine crawlers. The trailfinder comes with hardbody. Maybe not so god for your hard drive style 👌👍
I recently recieved this exact one and in recieving in the mail the rear axle had a broke mount for the tire is there some where to get a new one or a whole matching axle
I bought one from the link, it was badly damaged, flatly would not return, I had to get a part refund, sourced parts but
the finish is bad on these, so had to clean bearings with a special solution I made.

I've replaced gearbox in my gmade r1 for same you've got in this video, unfortunately can't climb anymore, the motor start burning.
I tried 27 and 35t motor and it's fast until goes uphill, then get stuck and start burning.
I'm waiting for different pinion gears, hope it will help.

i reckon go the opposite way n put a black rough lexan (if thats still a thing) lambo contach body on it bro but i dont know feck all bout this stuff...saved up n bought myself a tamiya wild one when i 9 (used to buy a think as rc mag each month every month n it was my bible lmao) but i forgot bout rc until i ran into tamiya n they just the dam same...kinda. so much to learn before i buy one argh. was looking at avante then xmax n now there are just too many dam options hehe any recommendations
What ever body that u decide to put oh this awesome chassis make it standout.... something ( Red or Green or Purple or maybe Brown)... Just make it AWESOME....
remember the negitivs you lised on th x-maxx well i have a x-maxx and the gears are shred and I have had it for 2 months.

What a great quality, you need to have a lot of this things, far better than the another chasis, except that will be expensive to repair, a great quality upper cover will be a great improve, specially if will be indestructible

I got a drone that has a carbon fiber frame and it came today. I flew it some but i'm going to the park on Thursday.
It only cost $125 even though it came with fpv goggles and a good screen to mount on the goggles or transmitter. It's the Bolt drone (you can get it on amazon)
Pro-Line 4-Runner body or Power Wagon! Man, I was eyeing that kit for a long while. Then got the Gen8 PACK on sale for $129. still like that one and am excited to see how it does. Cheers

I hope the pinion and spur don't strip out in a hard crawling situation. When gapped correctly, they seem to have very little tooth-to-tooth contact.

I would love a carbonfibre and metal rig! TRX-4 is so plasticky. Been trying to find carbon fibre upgrades, but never had any success.
