try find some rubber washers-spacers to put between the engine and chassis to avoid vibration of the chassis.just like in real cars Kev.

3d printing could help you solve alot of your mounting requirements
I was just about to say that. He should get a resin 3d printer for scale parts and an fdm printer for strong parts. I've printed RC spares in nylon before and they were plenty strong.
@@inoahmann7542 print with pc max polymaker its reallly tuff for parts
@@moimoi2682 True, but I've never broken glass fiber reinforced nylon (reinforced blue trimmer cord). It prints incredibly well at 265⁰C. I see a lot of videos where nylon parts delaminate but that only happens because the printer isn't printing hot enough. I would highly recommend trying it. Try regular round blue cord first then you can try various other reinforced trimmer cords. Reinforced cord will wear out and clog nozzles and destroy drive gears but the end result is amazingly tempature stable and durable.
@@inoahmann7542 can you link here the nylon you have used
But you do forget that 3d printing is a 'nested hobby' (separate hobby in a hobby (in a hobby)):P
Ex. I've started with FPV drones, then buying a 'decent/cheap' 3d printer to print some parts, ended up with tweaking the printer every now and then and printing stuff i don't need- it can be blurring your focus.
I would say: 'Kevin, find someone who loves 3d printing and make him stop printing useless... stuff'' :D
Awesome dude, you finally got the four stroke running...
Pretty sure the cable coming out of the transmission is a lock out for reverse, it wont let you engage reverse unless the transmission has stopped spinning.
The steering set up needs to be like a lot of the 1/14th Semi truck's and also like the HPI Wheelie king you just need to mount the servo on the left hand side of the chassis and the short rod that used to steer off the servo needs to be extended back to where ever you mount the servo so the dervo becomes a push pull set up.
Nick you are right, you need to connect it to the optidrive module for it all to work properly (in theory) unless if you want to bang-shift it in reverse...
It's the rpm season the point drive is a different thing and wont let it shift in to reverse if the throttle servo is active I've just replaced my opit drive on revo 3.3
Like a bell crank system. yep
Put a servo horn, the L model upsidedown in a bearing under the front chassis, just before the fan, and a rod under the chassis to the steering servo, and there you are. problem solved.
I want to see this 4 stroke build agin I Know it was a year ago
3 years now
Very creative kev! That blue plug on the revo trans is for the opti-drive system. Opti-drive is just a safety system to keep the trans from being shifted from fwd to rev n visa versa while the truck is moving. That blue plug is the sensor to tell the opti-drive the truck has stopped n will let it shift fwd/rev. I took the opti out of my revo 3.3. The opti is also a failsafe
I was really excited when this build started, it’s actually why I started watching this channel. Why did the build stop here? What happened to this awesome little crawler?
Haha. It probably stayed built "temporarily".
Hay bud. U need to finish this one.
Yes same
Any update on this vid?
Finish this build !!!!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 well done
Ahhh the good ol' "temporary mounts"
"Nothing is more permanent then a temporary solution that works" 😂
- old Russian proverb
So true
Just so true
why has no company done this before? well make your own and sell them!
RC Crew dont makemover 70$
True im sure he would make a lot of money
RC Crew heay thats a good idea the thing is is the pricetag lol
Can you give me 1 of your RC??PLEASS😊😊cause i cant buy an RC BECAUSE i dont haveoney to buy!!😭
@@rymj-fersonsalhay321 well propally no, get a job and buy one yourself
That blue plug is an optical sensor and it plugs into a module called 'Optidrive'. It's connected with your throttle servo and reverse channel also. The Optidrive prevents shifting from a forward gear while moving into reverse (and vice versa) so you don't strip your gears. It's not required for the gear changes to work though.
Awesome work brother! Love it. This is what makes the hobby fun and exciting.
It is good work and I am one of your subscribers

This guys Really sounds like colinfurze
Well yes there both British
He does
No he doesn’t, this guys from around Kent
He can hear you...
Thats like saying Jonathan Ross and Jeremy Clarkson sound the same
It looks like the engine is actually made for this
This thing is what I like. Finding solutions to solve Problems. I hope that you continue this Project. Cheers mate.
For the steering kev use a half shaft/ drive shaft similar to the one on that crawler, the u joint would give you some much needed adjustment, then use a bearing and weld/ jb weld that to the underside of the engine’s mounting plate, allowing the drive shaft from the server to be held firmly in one spot
Interesting project so far. Have you delved much into 3D printers and designing your own parts? It makes projects like these a lot easier.
Not at all
Did you ever finish this project?? I'd love to see the finished product.
I love what you’re doing with this
I love the engine in this setup. Would love to see this in an RTR.
KC RC couldn’t agree more
Awesome!! Finally finished
This is by far my favorite project RC that you’ve worked on. Great job so far!
Im not even into crawling but i love watching your vids on this crazy custom build.
With a 4 stroke, you can easily build a full exhaust system that exits at the rear like a full sized car, keeping the oil mess off the chassis. You can do it with a 2 stroke, but it changes the exhaust tuning, so way easier with a 4 stroke.
thats the plan :)
I’m diggin this build!
She sounds amazing 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
I love ur vids and it’s my b day today 23 of January in Astra skiing and playing with udr in the snow amazing
Pro Fortnite genjo happy birthday 🍰
Happy bday buddy 🤟
Traxxas slash 4x4 vxl on the way for me!!! All because of you and your crew. First rc ever and I'm going big...lol...thanks guys
Just to let you know one of your front tyres is on backwards 😁
haha i know, thanks :)
It's gorgeous! Nice work Kev!
Been watching this build since day one turning out quite nice Kev !!! Lovin it buddy
Thanks for the like kev huge fan here in OHIO USA always watching the crawler 4 stroke was amazing Mach up so much torque insane
The long shaft would work with just a long threaded rod from the hardware store instead of the traxxas drivesshaft. But you'll get it no matter what idea you do.
2 views but 24 likes 🤦♂️ dont make sense lol....love your video's dude
It only counts if you watch the full video.
Damn bro you left us all hanging 😩😩😩
Look up "rc hydraulic steering test" on You tube could try something like that.
Go back to this build, we would love to see it finished
This wire what coming out of transmission is made to shifting gears
for your steering issue the Capo Ace 1 has cable driven steering to a servo would work an give much more options for servo placement
Slap a big turbo on it and you be running faster than a Honda and run early 9s at the drag strip.
plz make a long video about this car plz we really want to see this thing work perfectly
johnnyq90 has made a custom modded street car with one of those
That guys projects are so cool. Didn’t he try to turbo/super charge one?
@@BusbyBiscuits turbo charged I think
Finally no thumbs down!!! Congratulations
And the truck is awesome!
haha theres loads now! lol

Me: Aren't motors supposed to be engines for RC cars?
Well yeah but this more realistic :D
Have you ever seen a rc with a real engine probably not but have you seen a real car with a motor like a rc car No but have you seen a real CAR with a real engine YES
It's absolutely awesome how you run Baja claws on your model and on your land rover!
what happen with this?? did Kev ever finish this one?
I think Kevin might be the first guy who created nitro crawler :3 keep it up
"Its a live!!"
Sick this is what the hobby is all about
When demolition derby
Great vid
Looking good so far can't wait to see it full out much love an respect from Hamilton Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 ✌ looking forward to seeing your next video

Al Piner hamilton? i’m from london 😂😂
Great work Brother! love your concept , very adjustable set up, and it will crawl up a wall, Love it!!
3:59 he’s bleeding a bit
I found a steel servo saver! Traxxas sells one (part number: 8947X) and a longer one (part number: 9544)
Nah go away I'm first god dammit
No one cares that ur first sorry
@RCnIT ! Every sad git is doing it!!!
Almost as pathetic as the people who are like.
"Blah blah blah" "hit the like button if you agree"
🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
It took me so long to get someone to reply and I finally achieved it!
RCnIT ! But I do agree with you
That wire coming out of the transmission is a sensor for reverse. It’ll work fine without it, it’s just there to tell the traxxas pti drive when it can engage reverse safely
Living my dream! Your RC workshop is insane, love it. Been watching your videos all day. BIG thumbs up from Canada
that plug is for the optidrive its a sensor that doesnt let you shift into reverse unless you stop completely you dont need it
Man this is an exciting build! I'm glad it runs and has all the torque on the planet to gear it up from!!
Nice set up! But you need 2 u jonts from the auto gearbox to the manual gearbox ... less vibration and less wobbling arround.
So happy you managed to get the entire thing to actually move! Epic progress and it will be awesome when its done!!! Can't wait!
Kev! That is the coolest little vice you’ve got! ❤️ 👨🏼🔧
Esto es lo maximo de máximo bros. Felicito al canal y acotar que no entiendo como puede existir gente que ponga dislike, si no les gusta no vean.
Now this is an awesome build! I can't wait to see where it goes from here.
So close! Yours gets big style points... RC Tanks and trucks turned out pretty cool too...
Yeah it has serious torque but it needs speed lol I laughed so hard because of how slow it was going 😂..
You are a genius kev! I was blown away the second I saw the vehicle even twitch. Good job and keep up the awesome work!!!!
3d printing will be a great way to make those mounts and spacers
yse!
@@KevinTalbotTV I know your busy most of the times, you could have volunteers to make you the prints you need, and you, saving time and just could pay a good enough 3d printer
Would be awesome to make an autonomous one using parts from the kinect or dji software to follow
This is going to be epic! 🇬🇧 engineering at its finest!
So far you're the greatest rc youtuber so far keep it up.
kev u could pinch the rails to make it be able to mount or make a bracket
So amazing this is truly shows how far we have come with technology these days so sweet.
The blue end of the REVO trans is for reverse lockout for the Optidrive system. You can run it disconnected and use an extra channel to manually do reverse at the risk of blowing a gear by accident. i set mine on the 3 position toggle on top of the 5 channel TQi. The REVO Platnium is the only one that was made without Optidrive and reverse for nitro racing.
That plug is a switch to to detect movement in the transmission so you don’t accidentally put it in reverse while rolling forward it prevents the gears from stripping out it makes it so that way you have to be At a complete stop to switch it to reverse
Look at the bruiser bellcrank steering setup. It locates the servo at the rear. Similar rear servo on hpi crawler king
Insane building!!! Cant wait to see it in action!
Instead of using separate battery for the servos you should try making a mini alternator
Don’t worry to much Kev, you will make it work. Don’t let it stress you.
If you do a long shaft to drive the steering maybe support it with a bracket and a bearing so the servo isn’t under as much strain?
turn the servo 90 deg to the right and use an arm instead of trying to put a shaft straight out of it then you can run a link up front to an A bracket to the tie rods, like cantilever suspension turned on its side. really cool build bring this back to life! how was the engine on temp from running it with so little air cooling from speed?
Go to homedepot and buy aluminum "welding" rods. Theyre torch "welded". Theyre really brazing, but good for rc. When I want a weld but its something small and aluminum I use those.
LOL you and your hot glue...LOL..got to love it
For the servo check out the hpi wheely king it is also mounted far away from the front maybe you can cook up something like that
Quick idea for a gas tank, it holds the gas and is a aesthetic, put a gas barrel in the back, like a large black one so it seams like it's carrying it to a off-road location
Bro you could totally jump on this opportunity, make a kit that pretty much makes it into a bolt on and make the price whatever you deem fit. I think many people would buy it!
So awesome, just great, I’d like to see that refined and some proper crawling out of it!!!
Great video once again👍
The 4 stroke sounds so much better than the screaming 2 strokes - it's a triumph!
A nitro 2 stroke sounds great but the 4 stroke just sounds perfect, alot less pingy and high pitched
I'm glad I found this video now I'm only a couple hundred dollars in. I was going to take a nitro engine with a Revo transmission and a buggy center diff. 5th scale hydraulic brakes and make it to a crawler. But now that I've seen it's been doneI don't think I'm going to waste the money now. Yours look way better than mine did anyway!
Can't wait to see this finished, I love how cavalier your attitude is to this project lol.
Use an inboard suspension bracket and connect the axle link to the bracket and then off toward the rear and you can put the servo together normally
Too f*&^ing cool!! I've followed these builds on the other channels you mentioned but love the direction you're going with yours. Having a REAL crawler when you're done - something that's actually capable - is going to be awesome!!
Awesome build! Looking forward to the finished article!
Mount your stering servo up on you fire wall and run shaft down at an angle to connecting rod it would be a real nice scale representation of how it is on a real truck.
I'd go up a size or two in scale....platform isn't big enough to accommodate all the components comfortably....a crawler needs room for suspension to move...plus a bigger frame would make it easier to work on if things aren't all cramped together
To think Kobe was still alive when this video was made😭💫💔
I’m actually gonna say this is pretty dope
Very excited about this build
I wonder if you use 2 stroke gas in it. Or gas with a oil system.
Kevin, that's a lot of work to make that Prime real estate, all tight and fully functional! Well, you know what you got to do so you might as well just get started 😒
Hey Kev, I did from-the-transmitter starting on my Slayer Pro. Shoot me a DM and I'll be happy to go in depth with how I did it. I used a 6ch aircraft radio which made control mapping quite a bit easier, and the EZ-Start systemuses a brushed motor rather than a brushless one, but I think this engine could be started with a brushed motor.
